I will list the good and bad points separately. ROOM 18 GOOD POINTS Pool area very nice location on the beach lovely. Restaurant on the beach good but not cheap Rooms and bathroom large Buffet in main restaurant very good Wine selecton good Safe location Some staff very good and helpful Reception staff helpful. BAD POINTS Road leading to it has multiple speed bumps along which got on your nerves after two weeks of in and out and going over them. Room 18 was on the ground floor so you had to go down steps with your luggage, due to being on the ground floor you couldnt leave your curtain open to get light as there are people going past the whole time and opposite is a patch of grass they use for kids clubs which is very noisy and starts fairly early in the morning. Room sometimes smelt a bit damp on entering. I had on two occasions horrible insects like a cockroach in the bathroom I have no idea how they got in. The room wasnt as clean as it could have been on the lamp shades. The bed wasnt that comfy and pillows terrible. Pool sunloungers not as good as they could be with no cushions on You cant get a new towel at the pool until 11am Many people put towels on bed without even turning up for hours on end. The position of the hotel opens up potential to have lovely areas with sofas and nice beds that are more luxurious instead of basic equipment. They havent made the most of this place at all it could be stunning. The terrace furniture basic and noisy and not enought tables and chairs for the amount of people. This could be so amazing but again not foresight into it has been made. There is no where for pepole to sit and interact with others out side, there is an area behined the barbeque where they could put sofas and make it a lovey place to sit under the sale but they have yet again put horrible cheap furniture, here could be a bar for people to go to but you have to go to the busy restaurant and wait for half an hour for your drink. The worst problem of all was the hideous noise from dogs being left in rooms by the Spanish on holiday, barking and howling. I cant believe they even allow dogs in a 4 star hotel. We complained about the dogs barking 4 days running but nothing much changed.. They were changing matresses in the rooms where we were so maybe it has been reported that the rooms have fleas in. I don't know. There werent enough staff to go round in the restaurant and terrace bar, they continually had to go inside to get drinks from a bar, instead of putting a bar in the restaurant area, they must walk miles a day the poor people. The terrace menu was limited and after two weeks wasnt really great. There are no other places to go out to other than the hotel in the vicinity not that I would have wanted to go to other than one which was booked up for a week which was round the corner. They could use the outside eating area at night at the back of the restraunt but they dont, they only use the side part. When you go away you want to sit outside and enjoy the views you dont normally have. The restaurant could have better lighting its a bit of a motorway service station feel. Sorry for all the bad points but its my honest opinion and that of the person I went with.

It is a good hotel located in really calm area with a great interior . There is a easy access to the beach from the pool. There is a nice balcony which you can have your breakfast there. The breakfast by itself was also good. The parking is also nice but not for free. The quality of the food in the bar was not convincing although it was expensive. We visited there on October and there was no indoor pool.

We stayed in Hotel Guadalmina for six nights over the May bank holiday weekend. We were very impressed by the friendliness of the welcome from all staff, the cleanliness of the property and the quality of the food. The hotel serves a buffet breakfast of excellent quality which is replenished constantly. On sunny mornings it was possible to sit on the terrace overlooking the sea - so relaxing. We had lunch on 3 days in the beach restaurant and we thoroughly enjoyed the quality of the fish and seafood on offer. We had an a la carte dinner in Taray restaurant on one evening and we were again impressed with the quality of the food and the friendly service. The bar, which overlooked the pool and the see was the perfect place to relax. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable with a huge terrace and views over both the sea and the golf course. Overall we had an enjoyable and relaxing stay at Hotel Guadalmina. A big thank you to all the staff in every department for the friendly welcome.

Lovely location, quiet place to relax and recover from the daily life. The food is great, however, as a vegetarian/vegan there are just a few options to eat. Wished for more diversity at the breakfast. This is the only reason this review has only 4 stars. The staff is great, friendly, helpful. The rooms are well equipped, are clean and spacious. If you wish for a relaxed holiday, here‘s the perfect place. 😇

My family of 4 was very excited about this hotel but unfortunately it did not meet our expectations. The check in process took almost 20 min at the front desk of signing forms and printing out things - way too long. We were put into 2 rooms that were not next to each other. When we asked, the man who checked us in was annoyed and said - at least we are on the same floor. This is not good enough. Our rooms were not good. The floors were a dark tile, nothing like what is in the picture on the website. But even worse, the rooms were not clean. There was mold in the bathroom, there were stains on the fabric of the walls, and the electrical outlets were coming out of the wall - dangerous!! We left a towel on the floor in the bathroom on day 1 and it remained there the whole stay. No one cleaned it up. The breakfast buffet had a wonderful variety of items but there were BIRDS crawling on the food. Given that the world was shut down recently due to a zoonotic disease (covid) and another one is circulating (monkeypox) one would think that food and live animals should not mix. In conclusion, we were disappointed in our stay at the Guadalmina for both the service and the quality of the rooms and offerings. When I sent an email directly to the hotel to see if our concerns would be addressed before leaving a review, they blamed us for not asking to switch rooms, and telling us that "we inform you that the rooms you stayed were Superior category, a higher category." So gross, dirty and dangerous is the Superior category. Stay somewhere else.
