The hotel is in a brilliant location, handy for everything. Room was a good size but very plain with no character. Bathroom not good - gaps around bath seal, shower curtain too long (i nearly fell when it wrapped around my feet), bath poorly painted in places, and hairdryer cord too short. I had to squeeze between the toilet (which it was above) and counter top to use it. Restaurant and pool area adequate, all staff nice. General decor is tired and reception could look more welcoming. Extremely disappointed no courtesy room available. Surely such a large hotel should have a room put aside for guests with a late check out time. We were told to get changed in the toilets!

I recently stayed at this hotel and would rate my experience 3 out of 5 stars.
The hotel is quite old and clearly in need of renovation. The rooms reflect this as well; they feel outdated and were dusty upon arrival. My first room was located right next to a construction site, making it both noisy and dusty, which was very unpleasant. After raising my concerns, I was moved to a second room (extra cost), which was better.
The gym was a major disappointment. It was small, and out of the three machines available, only one was functional—and even that one didn’t work properly. Similarly, my experience with the spa was frustrating. The spa staff seemed uninterested in their duties. I tried to book an appointment for a massage twice: the first time, the lady claimed she couldn’t work due to construction noise. When we rebooked for the next day, I ended up waiting for 40 minutes past my appointment time before giving up and leaving.
The dining experience was mixed. While the breakfast was varied and delicious, dinner was average, and the carbonara I sauce was particularly disappointing—it was watery and didn’t resemble a proper carbonara at all. On a positive note, drinks were fairly priced, and there were evening shows, which added a nice touch to the overall experience.
The standout part of my stay was the staff. The cleaning ladies were attentive and did a great job. Most of the staff were friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated. However, having stayed at other 4-star hotels for similar prices, I expected much more in terms of quality and service.
Overall, this hotel didn’t meet the standards I’ve experienced elsewhere for the same cost.

I booked a room with a sea view and breakfast a month ago. When I arrived, I got a room on the third floor with a view of the trees, if you want to see the sea you have to lean over the railings, when I asked to change to a room with a sea view, they said that the hotel is full for the next five days. Breakfast is good enough and I really have no complaints about the staff.

Great hotel, great price and location. The pool area was spotless and the entertainment team were genuinely very enthusiastic and provided lots of great games. There is a show every night and a free bingo which we enjoyed.
We did have two problems though:
Once we were served a burger that was completely raw in the middle at dinner, we didn’t get ill from it but was definitely an issue. It wasn’t even rare but totally raw and cold. The food quality was generally good but there were some issues with things being undercooked which we did mention to the staff at the time. On occasion the staff didn’t know what meat was in some dishes that were just labelled ‘meat’. Also note that breakfast includes coffees, water and juices whilst if you are on a half or full board package you must pay for drinks at lunch and dinner. Not even tap water is included when they do serve it from a decanter at breakfast. Drinks were cheap, however a better selection of soft drinks at dinner like juices would have been appreciated. Lots of Canarian food to try too!
Also the air conditioning in the room was preset and couldn’t be changed (we asked the front desk) so the room was always really hot.
Otherwise a good place to stay in Puerto de la Cruz.

I have just returned from this Hotel after 11 days . I did get a deal on this hotel but if I had paid full price its still four stars plus on a rating.
The hotel is old fashioned in places but there is constant maintenance. You can pick faults with it but I like to look at the bigger picture, It is smack in the middle of Puerto De La Cruz being one of the first major hotels constructed there. The room we had was well appointed and had a fridge but no balcony (not a major issue )
The room cleaning and general cleaning was first class. The public areas and gardens are kept very well , as is the pool area, The pool is not open till about 10 am and they will enforce removal of towels for those who want to hog sunbeds. I am pretty sure the pool has the ability to be heated in the winter months,
The attitude and service from the staff was very good. Food was also very good with a full hot and cold selection at breakfast and dinner. You can order your own wine to be kept for use at dinner or a glass of whatever you wish. If you are at the front of the hotel there is now a noisy bar which appears to be emulating some kind of pseudo Ibiza vibe. Obviously the hotel is aware but it is outside their direct control. There are quite a few nationalities here and I found pretty much everyone very friendly and polite. Most people appeared to be about 55-65 years of age which suits me. Obviously it is not party central and I think that is pretty much how everyone likes it. Clearly these are subjective views but I had a great time and would definitely return to this hotel.
