My experience at the Horseshoe Hotel in Las Vegas had its highs and lows, but unfortunately, the lows were quite significant.
Checking in, the line moved at a snail's pace, and most of the self-help kiosks were out of order. Ari provided some assistance, which I appreciated, but it didn't make up for the overall hassle. Adding insult to injury, they charged a hefty $50 holding fee—meaning they hold $100 if your room costs $50, and then deduct $20 for parking, leaving you with $70 less after your stay.
Then came the room situation. Despite booking a king room, I was unexpectedly moved to a two-queen room without any notice. While the room layout was pleasant and offered a great view, that's where the positives ended.
The room itself was in an appalling state—Extremely Dirty and unkempt. Despite calling the front desk three times about the mess, nothing was done really done. The floor was strewn with trash, which was particularly unsettling since I have a baby who's just started walking and still crawls. I repeatedly requested a vacuum and new sheets; one bed was especially bad with what looked to be pubic hair, head hair, and various stains. Despite two additional requests for fresh sheets, none were delivered. The bathroom was equally disappointing with stains on the toilet, hair on the floor, and smudges on every mirror. Even the mini fridge was a mess, stained inside with a strange wrapper stuck in it. The walls behind the curtains were filthy, and there were suspicious splatters on the baseboards and ceiling.
To top it off, the AC was barely functional despite assurances from maintenance that it was working. The thermostat showed 65 degrees, but it felt closer to 85 inside. The room was also quite dusty, although the TV and shower worked fine. The sink repeatedly clogged, making it difficult for water to drain, but at least there were enough towels for my family.
On a positive note, the hotel's location is excellent—close to the Strip and connected to Paris for enjoyable walks. Nearby, there's a convenient liquor store with affordable prices and an In-N-Out Burger within a short walk. The 24-hour food court, featuring basics like Subway, was also handy.
However, the state of the room overshadowed everything else and left me feeling uncomfortable and disappointed. If the hotel can improve its cleanliness and attention to detail, I might consider giving them another chance. As it stands, though, I'm hesitant to risk another stay, especially with my upcoming birthday trip next month in late August/ early September. Cleanliness is crucial for a pleasant stay especially with a little one.
Overall, while there were a few positives, the disappointing room conditions significantly affected my experience.

Veronica made our check-in seamless. She was so friendly and helpful. She started our trip out on such a positive note! This was our first time staying here but we will be back! And the view of the sphere is incredible!

The customer service and management at the Horseshoe was terrible. I reserved a pool view room and was given a view of the street in the Versailles tower. While the room was fine when I brought this matter to the attention of the front desk they indicated they would waive the resort fees for both nights but upon check out they were only waiving one. When I spoke to the manager she said reservations did not guarantee the room type which makes no sense and there was a travel agent standing there who confirmed my assertions. The manager raised her voiced but eventually provided the refund for the second resort fee but very rudely.
We stayed at the hotel for the World Series of Poker and the convenience but the Horseshoe is dingy and old and smoky.

Great place hands down going back. Darcy was the best bell hop we've ever had. Great guy, promote him. Everything from arrival with the valet and check in, the room, and the check out was perfect and very appreciated after a 17hr drive. Because it went so well I will be doing it again next month and coming back to this hotel.

I recently stayed at the Horseshoe Casino & Hotel in Las Vegas, and unfortunately, it was a highly disappointing experience. The hotel is just worn and dirty. The mirrors in the elevators are cracked and smashed, which is a stark indicator of the lack of maintenance.
We stayed for five nights, and on two separate occasions, the air conditioning in our room quit working, making the stay quite uncomfortable. The check-in process was inconvenient and took much longer than it should have. The amenities are dated, and the entire building clearly needs a lot of repair. Even basic landscaping around the property has been neglected, giving an overall impression of decay.
For the price we paid, there are certainly better options available on or near the Strip. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless significant improvements are made. Save your money and find a hotel that offers a more pleasant and well-maintained environment.
