Decent place to stay in NYC. Very close to everything. Rooms are good. A little tight but fairly typical for NY. Bathroom is sort of dated but clean and gets the job done. A/c was a godsend. We did end up using the “constant fan” option because it got a little humid in there. No laundry on property but there is a gym in the basement and hot water for those ppl who need some for their baby formula. I ended up walking a couple doors down to drop off my laundry.

Extremely noisy at night and in the morning. Very thin walls and all the doors slam. I couldn’t really sleep because of how loud all of the hallway activity was. People constantly slamming doors and there is no devices on the doors that make them quiet. Half the rooms to the hotel are in high traffic areas where guests are constantly getting in late and checking out late. Avoid this hotel if possible. Not that nice.

Overall, the staff at the hotel is fantastic and the location is convenient for my business trips. The hotel is always clean and well-maintained. The rooms are comfortable, the beds are cozy, and the lobby has a welcoming atmosphere. There’s even a patio area at the front where guests can sit and enjoy the pleasant NYC evenings. The front desk staff, including Destiny, deserve a 5-star rating. However, one front desk staff member only earns a 1-star rating. He is frequently on his phone and rarely acknowledges guests when they arrive or after a long day exploring the city. The maintenance and engineering staff receive 5 stars, and so do the cleaning staff and breakfast area attendants. Unfortunately, the general manager, only deserves a 1-star rating. As I mentioned in my review with IHG, she rarely greets guests upon arrival. There's never a simple "hello, how are you?" or "thank you for choosing us for your stay." I've witnessed her, what seemed to the GM, reprimanding a front desk employee on the patio, and I overheard her yelling from behind the front desk. If you look into the office area, you'll see notes written in RED ink with a harsh tone. This is not an effective way to motivate staff, nor does it create a positive impression for guests during check-in or check-out.

The staffs are really friendly, kind and accommodating. However, it’s very noisy. There’s this rattling metal sound that bothers you through out the night. I asked to get the room changed, which they did change it for us. Same thing, the sound was still going on. All my family members barely slept while we stayed few nights here. The location is good, easy to get around.

This was our second stay at the Holiday Inn Chelsea Manhattan, and it was even better than the first!! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with nothing but kindness from Tony the doorman, to all of the front desk associates. Check in was seamless and quick, we were helped with our bags and thanked for choosing to stay with them. We were given a beautiful room and it was the cleanest hotel experience i’ve ever had (and i’ve stayed at a LOT of hotels all over the US). All staff from the front desk, doorman, hospitality, etc. were all incredibly kind and accommodating and went above and beyond to make the experience memorable and easy for guests. They had amazing systems in place for storing luggage and receiving packages. The room was incredibly clean, it was turned over well every single day, and it was rather spacious and the design was thought through very well for the size for a NYC hotel room. It’s such a cozy vibe and feels like a true New York experience. The hotel is on a quiet and fairly safe street with convenient access to all subway lines and other public transport. I personally think for the price and location, this hotel is absolutely unbeatable in NYC. This hotel is DEAD CENTER in the middle of Manhattan in the beautiful Chelsea neighborhood. It’s convenient to literally everything. We travelled all over Manhattan and Brooklyn during our stay via Subway lines thanks to the convenience and location of this hotel. The staff really go above and beyond and really care about you and your experience. The hotel manager even offered to book us a car service upon departure due to a busy Saturday travel day making many modes of transport slow to the airport! The whole experience was amazing and we will only stay at this hotel when visiting NYC. I personally believe this is a SLEEPER AND HIGHLY UNDERRATED HOTEL IN MANHATTAN! If you are someone who enjoys a no-frills, simple, clean, and affordable experience, this is the place for you. I prefer not to pay a luxury price tag for a room in NYC, when my purpose there is to explore the city and really experience the culture. Also, for the price, the room is extremely comfortable and worlds beyond anywhere i’ve stayed in this price range. The recent renovations are excellent and a cherry on top. Book it now, you won’t regret it!!
