This is a late review as we have stayed here the last 2 years and are going back in 3 weeks time with all the family. I have seen some pretty unfair reviews regarding the drinks and food and would like to clear this up. There is beer on tap, wine on tap, soft drinks on tap and local spirits...what more do you need. One of the main reasons we keep coming back is because of the choice of food available. We have 5 children and being kids, they are fairly fussy however there is a really good mix of food and always something different available. I'm a big foodie and find the food is really tasty with a huge selection be it meat, fruit, vegetables or desert. The staff are incredible, always happy to help and they keep the place clean and tidy. The rooms are spacious and they are clean with good air conditioning. Credit to the cleaners because they work really hard. There are times when we have told them not to worry about cleaning the room because we keep ours clean anyway. Great entertainment for adults and children. All in all this hotel is a fantastic place to stay so well done HL group, keep up the good work

Basic but good clean hotel. Spacious rooms, wonderful showers, good facilities and quiet location. Was grateful as other hotels are facing main road whereas this was set back. Food pleasant but not that varied - never went hungry though! BBQ ribs were a special treat. Staff really nice - from reception, to the bars, to the cleaners. The animation team treated everyone well and were good at entertaining the kids. Husband wanted to use treadmill in the small gym but it wasn't working sadly so had to continue training in the blazing heat! Location bit remote but my husband and I are into walking so didn't mind the 2 hour trek to and from the very far mall - lots of restaurants and eateries with shops en route, about 20 mins walk to main thoroughfare. Really liked the main pool but equally enjoyed the quiet pool round corner. All in all a lovely stay. Thank you HL Rio!

We have just returned from a week's holiday at HL Rio Playa Blanca. We had a lovely stay. There was some confusion in relation to our room on arrival. It was rectified by reception staff quickly. There is something for everyone at this place. If you want a more relaxed atmosphere the pool to the rear has plenty of beds & generally quiet. There doesn't appear to be the sunbed rush either in a morning or towels out the night before. The food is generally good. The one thing that was poor on this visit was the honey rum. We had this during our visit in Nov 24 & enjoyed it. This year it was terrible. To the point we returned it to the bar. It tasted like chemicals & honey. We will definitely return as we had a good holiday. All staff are very hard working & friendly. Thanks for having us!

Just come back from a week away with the husband. Really enjoyed are stay here food was great everyday so much to chose from and the snack bar was great not all drinks were included in all-inclusive but there is a list of what is included. Main pool was always busy the second pool was great a lot quited and relaxing. The room was lovely and was cleaned daily. Night entertainment was a show and mini disco . Could do with some music or something in the roof top bar at night. Will definitely come again with the kids

We just spent 5 nights here and it was way above our expectations. The hotel is always clean, food is lovely and there is always a choice for all. The main restaurant can get a bit noisy but that's the only negative. We were upgraded to a Master Suite and it was stunning! We will definitely be coming back here as it's in a great location for walks and bike rides.
