So I want to give an honest, total review of this place based on my 5-night stay here. We just checked out this morning and I have plenty of good things, and several notes that could really use improvement. Of course, your experience might be completely different, but this was our experience. This would be long and thorough, but Google limits reviews to a character count so if you just want a short synopsis, the basic review would say: This is a stunningly beautiful resort with amazing pools, a fantastic beach, and very friendly staff but generally very underwhelming drinks and restaurant food quality.
Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves. Entertainment was fun, and as Hilton Diamond members, there’s a few extra perks that are great!

I find it hard to write bad reviews as I don’t frequently write these. I stayed here on April 12-13 2024 and found this hotel to be the most over priced property in Playa. For $690 CAD, the experience was lacking. We ordered steaks and they came back raw and had to be sent back. The food is average at best and the property feels very over rated. If it was half the price it would be okay, but this leaves a lot to be desired. Further, the washrooms throughout the property are very dirty and the walls are paper thin as we had a hard time falling asleep and could hear everyone. The room we are at does not have a working elevator and had to climb 4 flights of stairs to get to a room (normally not an issue but not okay for this price). We stayed at the Wyndham across the street and would stay there any day over here. 1/10 do not recommend, save the money!

Been to the Cancun area many times and this was one of our best trips. The food was exceptional for an all inclusive. Service, layout and amenities were great. Loved the entertainment; opening band at 7:30 every night, followed by a show, then more music till 11. My only con was they stop serving drinks at 11 and the whole place pretty much shuts down. However we preferred the Playa Del Carmen nightlife at the heart of the hotel; live music, clubs, dancing, bars, shopping and general fun walking around.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hilton Playa Del Carmen, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm smiles and excellent service.
The room was spacious, modern, and impeccably clean, with a stunning view of the ocean. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I slept like a baby every night. The amenities in the room were top-notch, and I appreciated the thoughtful touches like the complimentary minibar and the luxurious bath products.
The hotel's facilities were equally impressive. The fitness center was well-equipped with modern machines and offered a variety of workout options. I also enjoyed the spa facilities, which were luxurious and relaxing. The pool area was beautiful, with plenty of loungers and umbrellas for relaxing in the sun. The beach was pristine, and I enjoyed taking long walks along the shore.
The hotel's restaurants served delicious food, and I especially enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which had a wide variety of options to choose from.
The staff at the Hilton Playa Del Carmen were exceptional. They were always friendly and attentive, and they went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Hilton Playa Del Carmen to anyone looking for a luxurious and relaxing getaway. The hotel's beautiful facilities, excellent service, and stunning location make it the perfect destination for a memorable vacation.

I hate leaving tough reviews and usually don’t - let everyone have their own experiences and opinions- and I don’t want to impact small businesses in a bad way. But this is a Hilton and not a small business. It has a reputation for service. Lots of great things about this place, but the staff seem to hate working here and treated us like an annoyance. The restaurants were slow and staff seemed annoyed when we asked for anything. Mid week the buffets were closed and we were rerouted to a primary restaurant that was ill prepared and seemed frustrated we were there. We were a very respectful group of 16, celebrating 40th birthdays and two even in a presidential suite - which was not very presidential in terms of the service they received.
Beautiful pool and grounds… good food when they are open. But we won’t come back.
