Hilton Cancun Mar Caribe All-Inclusive Resort

I was a bit conflicted on how to rate this hotel as we generally had a nice time, but there were some cons. Firstly, as mentioned, the property itself was clean and we experienced great service in the restaurants, bar, and pool. I do think service by the beach was a bit lacking. Not once did someone ask if we needed anything, which would've been appreciated. Unlike some of the other reviews, we didn't experience a lot of seaweed in the water, so no complaints there, but the waves were pretty rough. Secondly, for an all-inclusive resort, we really enjoyed the food and drinks. We didn't try the Mexican (Maxal) restaurant, so I can't speak about that, but the others were tasty as was the buffet (Vela). As for the cons: 1. We had a bottle of lotion (I know, not too big of a deal so I shook it off) AND a shirt taken from our room. We didn't even bother telling management because neither item was of great value, but still not something you expect when you're trusting housekeeping in your room. 2. The a/c in the room could have been a bit better. While it kept us cool during the day, we found ourselves warm at night and weren't able to turn it cooler. 3. I understand that the hotel is open-air and there's a lot of humidity which they can't control, but the hallways to/from the room are dangerously slippery. They have a few grips on the slopes, but they should be placed throughout as my bf and I found ourselves saying a prayer every time we walked around as we continuously slipped. 4. The biggest downside, in our opinion as a young couple looking for a fun time, was the lack of nightlife. The hotel does offer great shows, but everything shuts down by 11 pm (if not earlier)....even the bar. Maybe that's okay during the week, but to not offer any late-night options whether it be a club, music, or just drinks, after 11 pm on a Friday or Saturday is a bit ridiculous. According to the staff, things started closing earlier once Hilton took over (we booked when it was still Royal Uno). I suppose if you're an older couple or a family with young kids it doesn't matter, but it did to us A LOT. Had I known that when booking, we likely would have stayed elsewhere.

Great hotel! Sad to hear they parted from the rest of the Royal frandchise. I was excited to be a member for the short time though! Service was okay, bathroom cleaning could be a bit more detailed. And a shame some amenities like the bath salts are only given once. Will probably return sometime in the future.

Very nice hotel and all inclusive. Staff were all very nice and friendly and know how to make all the cocktails. Food options we awesome and worked well for my picky family! Would definitely love to come back in the future and will recommend to my friends. Only downfall is all the bars close at 12pm.

We had such a beautiful and relaxing experience at our stay at Royal Uno. I was reluctant to do the resort experience, as I so much love Mexican food, culture, and people, and knew a resort would dilute this experience. However, given the reality of that piece of resort life, this was an amazing place and perfect for a peaceful baby moon with every possible comfort and convenience you could imagine. The grounds were breathtaking, with an incredible view of the ocean, with a private and clean beach, amazing pools, and so many food options. My 4 yo daughter had a blast at the kiddie pool area, and her and I loved going to the cafe every morning for fresh fruit and donuts. They even had lattes and crepes. The poolside lunch spot was so convenient for those with small kids/picky eaters, offering made to order pizzas, french fries, hamburgers, and a nacho bar. We never struggled to find a place to sit by pool or beach and the pool was the perfect temperature and offered something for every age group and interest. Every staff member we came across was friendly and went up and beyond to make us feel comfortable in any way possible. The rooms were beautiful and showers large with hot water every time. We got an oceanfront authentic room, and I would say I wished we would have upgraded to a room with a private patio or walk out plunge pool. The room was still gorgeous, however I really missed having a spot off room to sit and listen to the waves. The authentic room was just a standing area little patio area and it was not safe to leave the door open and listen to waves from room, as the heat caused the floors to get very wet. My husband in fact fell in the room on the first day. Put a bit of a damper on his first day and a half. But we learned that lesson fast. Next time we would definitely upgrade. The food in restaurants was typical resort food, with not a lot of flavor and just kinda so so. But again this is the reality with all inclusive resorts.if you want flavorful Mexican food you have to leave your resort. The buffet however was a great quick option for families with small kids or picky eaters. They had an omelette bar, pancakes, waffles, tons of fruits, and pastries, and for lunch/dinner there were rice, beans, plantains, chicken and steak dishes, pizza, pasta, etc. Overall such a pleasant and enjoyable experience. Would highly recommend for families, expecting mothers, or anyone looking for a family friendly, low key, luxury, relaxing resort experience. If you are wanting a party vibe I don’t see this being a place you would want to go. If I was young and single I would have maybe been a little bored, just FYI. But for a baby moon with a 4 yo this was absolute perfection!

This is an excellent resort. (Hilton Cancun Mar Caribe) We loved every minute of our time here. Daily activities, nightly entertainment, there was always something to do. We spent a lot of time at the pool and hot tubs. The pool has a swim up bar, which we loved. If you were sitting in the lounge chairs, they would bring your drinks to you. There is a nice children's pool area. Everyone here was super friendly and very attentative from the time our car service dropped us off at the door. We were greeted with a cool towel to freshen up with, and they had fresh strawberry drinks as soon as we walked inside. After check-in, they delivered our luggage to the room. We did not want for anything. There are many restaurants to choose from. Some we liked better than others, but it was all good. Today, we walked through the lobby and was stopped to let us know they found out it was our daughter's birthday (28th) and had sent something special to the room for her, which I am so grateful for. I really can't say enough good things. We leave tomorrow, and I'm sad to leave, but back to reality. Hope to return soon.
