Highly recommended resort. The staff are the perfect blend of engaging and friendly, without being overly "in your face". The food was excellent, with a wide variety of options to choose from. The snorkeling was fabulous - but you do need to take the boat to the reef to get there, unless you have your own goggles and flippers. The current is quite strong, so it's "drift" snorkelling, rather than the traditional type. We played golf at both courses and were very impressed. Beautiful courses with very friendly staff.
One recommendation if you don't have small children would be to check the dates of your trip and preferably select a time outside of school holidays. There were a LOT of small kids while we were there and let's just say, I know now why there are adult only resorts in Mauritius! However, the adult-only pool at Awali did give us a reprieve.

An amazing resort for a family holiday. We stayed in a ground floor deluxe beach room during October 2023 which had a fabulous sea view. The resort was very welcoming with a relaxed atmosphere and the food was very good. Housekeeping staff worked really hard to ensure our room was clean and tidy, the mini bar was restocked and we had everything we needed in our room. Management was visible and resolved issues quickly.
The quality of the spa service and treatments was exceptional. We really enjoyed the evening entertainment and our trip around the south of the island.

Service and food were some of the best we have experienced at an All Inclusive resort. Staff very friendly, attentive and always smiling. Having a choice of different restaurants for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner makes it a really enjoyable experience, you feel like you are going out for dinner everyday.
Location is great for exploring the more rugged natural part of the Island. Golf courses are superb, very lucky to play La Reserve Golf Links course, if you are a keen golfer with handicap below 20 it is really worth playing

The Heritage Awali is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The rooms, service, staff, choice of food / drinks and quality of spa, golf and shuttle bus services between the various points of interest were all excellent. The site is immaculately maintained throughout with attentive staff. The only downside is the need to book so many activities (including certain restaurants) the day in advance. The location is spectacular. We knew that swimming in the sea was not possible (significant current drift), but guided snorkling trips were well managed. The Spa is free to enter and huge, with various steam rooms, saunas and plunge pools. Best to book a local driver for day trips outside the Hotel's organised activities. Luxury in hotel form. Excellent hotel and would love to revisit in the future.
