Paradise resort in a quiet and very beautiful corner of the island. It offers all the possible services, and it has a lot of activities already available within the all inclusive package. Food quality is good and the staff is very friendly. Ask for a wine tasting dinner in the cellar with the sommelier. It is totally worth.
On the downside, I think the way they make you book activities and restaurant could be improved with the use of an App.
It is very family oriented resort (the whole island kind of is). Nevertheless, they try to save some areas for adults only.
The Heritage domain in general, golf courts included, is simply amazing.

It is a beautiful hotel. The room was great and always clean and tidy, the staff were all smiles and the views were spectacular. It is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at. The only thing that keeps the hotel getting the full 5 stars was due to service. The waiters and waitresses were a credit to the hotel, yet there were times when we were waiting too long for our drinks, or occasions where my drinks orders were forgotten altogether. But this is only one minor point and I will be staying there again.

We loved the service at Heritage Awali. The staff were super nice. The gentleman that works at the gym (wish I knew his name) came to drop my dad in his room when we had torrential rain and there was no auto car. He made sure my dad was okay and I really appreciate this.
Ramana who works there was very accommodating as he organised dinner for us from the Indian restaurant which was for adult only. All the staffs at the restaurants were very helpful. Thank you so much Awali for the wonderful service of your staff.
The rooms were not to my liking as I felt it was dark. The food was not a 5 star unfortunately, it was hit and miss. The quality of the Buffet was not great for a 5 star compared to that of the Heritage hotel next door.
It’s a good child friendly hotel and would recommend it for kids!

We were a group of 12 people. In my family we had 1 toddler and 1 baby and yet we the ones that were assigned a room on the upper floor. It was so hard to climb all the time with a stroller and all baby accessories. After complaining to hotel staff nothing was done about it. Also the AC in the room was not working and there was a continuous smell of stink (similar to a washroom smell). This was experienced by another family in my group and they were able to get their room switched but our room was not switched.
We had a very bad experience about the kids club as well where we dropped both our kids there. My baby of 15 months after sleeping got up and was crying and the carers over there asked my toddler to look after him. When he didn't want to eat and they couldn't feed him they asked my toddler again to try to feed him and she was asked to take him out and walk around with him. It is completely unacceptable to ask a 4 year old to look after her brother when the carers who should be trained and qualified couldn't do it. Even worse was not once did we receive a call stating that they were unable to handle the kid. His aunt when she went to check on her kid saw him crying so much with his eyes swollen and then took him away from the kids club.
At the zenzi bar, from 4-5, they provided pancakes. At 455 when I went to get pancakes for my child i was told by the waiter that the batter was finished and pancakes were closed as it's close to 5. But at 530 my dad saw them making more pancakes for some other people. When confronted they just provided an excuse saying it's for the kids club. The kids club closes at 530 and regardless they were making they could have served 1 more for my kid. They were discriminating against us.
In the restaurant in such heat, where we were seated the fans were not working. It was extremely humid and unbearable.
In the infinity blue restaurant we asked to reserve a table where they took 1hr to set our table and in the process they gave our table to another group. When we told them about it they just told us that they thought that was our group. And by the time we got to sit on out table and place an order it was 245 and they rushed us saying it was closing after we had to wait for over an hour to get a table.
We booked for an expensive 75 minutes massage and it was supposed to be about balancing the Chakras, having soothing music being played and yet none of that was done. There was no music and we had to ask them about it and then there was some technical issues and this took time to have it all sorted whereby all this ate into our massage time and nothing was done to compensate for that.
Overall we had a very poor experience from a 5 star hotel
We discussed all this with the manager and all he did was to provide a late check and said to his chef to give us a prawn curry for diner. Completely unacceptable from such a high standard hotel

This is the 3rd time we have been to Awali. We love the African ambience and the staff and service they provide are excellent. They go the extra mile to ensure that your holiday is as good as it can possibly be. Jean-Pierre (General Manager) is an excellent role model for his staff. The golf course which is included as part of the All Inclusive deal is fabulous and the food at the golf course is also great.
