We had an amazing stay (3 days 2 nights) at Hard Rock Hotel Penang! We booked the Kids Suite, and it was super spacious and comfy — perfect for our group. It had a king-sized bed and a combo of super single + single beds that fit adults too. The decor was fun and clean, with two TVs (you can request a PlayStation 4!), and they had updated movies like Kung Fu Panda 4, Transformers, Deadpool and more — perfect for relaxing nights in. The room came with nice-smelling body wash and shampoo, and housekeeping was excellent. Our belongings were left untouched, and the room was always spotless. Just a heads-up: not many charging plugs, so bring an extension if you have multiple devices. We really enjoyed the Hard Rock Café — the char kuey teow, margherita pizza, and mocktails were great, and guests get a discount! The pool was huge with mini slides and water basketball, and the private beach had lots of activities like banana boat rides, horse riding, and volleyball. The cabana bar by the pool was also a great place to relax. The Saturday night live band added great energy, and the staff were all super friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The buffet breakfast was excellent too, with a wide variety of food. It’s a bit of a drive from the main night market area, but there’s a shuttle service if needed. All in all, a super fun, relaxing getaway. We’d definitely come back!

1. Rooms : they are superb, very spacious, bed was comfy. 2. Breakfast : prolly the worst 4 to 5 star hotel experience. 1st day waited 20 plus minutes for cutleries. Next day i waited 10mins + mugs for coffee also awaiting washing. The frozen yogurt machine was broken. The Croissants, pastries and cakes didn't taste so good. Overall, food tasted below average. I found Desaru Hard Rock cafe's breakfast was way way better. 3. Atmosphere : no live music and live band. Lobby was boring as hell. I thought Hard rock cafe was the epitome of rock n roll but Sadly, it was a disappointment. 4. Awesome looking swimming pools. 5. Loaned a guitar for practice but sadly didn't get the time to say J 6. Front desk folks : very amicable 7. Cleaners : courteous.

Breakfast need be more variety. Room service need to be improved in term of timing. Stayed here for almost a week. Two days missed to make up my room although the no disturb sign is off. Pool is massive and kids friendly. Lifeguard need to be more aware on children using the slide especially yellow one. Some of the user are very aggressive and can cause harm to other people at the end of the slide when they slide down. Some kind of warning or a mere whistle blown may taught them to be more respectful to other. Parking is ample, toilet is very clean. Overall okay.

Wonderful Service at Hard Rock Hotel! After a tiring flight delay, we arrived late at Hard Rock Hotel. During check-in, Eisen noticed our room wasn’t set up with a bed for our 8-year-old. He immediately contacted Housekeeping to resolve the issue, ensuring everything was ready quickly. His thoughtful and prompt action allowed us to rest comfortably. Thank you, Eisen, and the Hard Rock team, for exceptional service!

(1) They have the hardware, the facilities, the works, but the staff service were rather poor. They put the tiny display card saying “if you need towels, we will replace it”. In actual , we started asking for towel since the night through room phone to reception twice , no one answered. We then went down to the lobby to request it again, again no one send the towels. We then called to reception, they said will send , takes about 20 mins to send it up. (2) The buffet breakfast open time is 0630, We came down, no one at the reception, so we just sat ourselves down and serve ourselves, no problem. After a few dishes, our table were stacked with bowls and plates (at least 3 for each ), no one cleared our table until 0730. Seems the 5 stars professionalism is not there. (3) The room, the shower head is broken, making the water spraying everywhere mid bath, I’m working myself out like a plumber attempting to re-screw the nut in the shower. (not my nuts :P) The Bose speaker underneath the TV set, high possibility a gimmick, can’t on when pressing the power button. Last but not least, the room door itself were also out of order and not able to lock (the main door knob lock). Overall, I would say they got the “Hardrock” ambient, music, features and whatnot, but they lack the people maintaining it.
