We stayed at the Griya Santrian in 2014 so decided to go back to Sanur as long as we could get back in at the Griya. The resort is situated in a great location in Sanur with plenty of whatever you need within walking distance, whether it be along the beach or the main road. The staff are super friendly, the rooms were cleaned beautifully each day, the pool so lovely and warm (I can't do cold pools) and the breakfast provided had enough options for most (we like authentic cuisine for breakfast 😊) so it was a great start to the day each morning (the Yellow Chicken Curry was amazing!). A point to note at the moment is that renovations are in progress in certain sections of the resort during the day which we were informed of when we arrived. As we advised the staff, it didn't bother us as we normally spend all day out exploring and/or temperature testing the beer at various outlets so it wasn't a problem for us 😊 We loved our stay and we'd stay at the Griya Santrian again in a heartbeat. We absolutely love coming to Griya Santrian. The resort has a lovely feel to it, more traditional in style, is clean and the staff are very accomodating. We found their breakfast to be good but the quality of the food in the restaurant for lunch/dinner has gone down. The pool bar is a big plus and their cocktails are excellent. This year though, I’m not sure I recommend staying until they’ve completed their renovations. They advised us renovations won’t be complete for another year. Renovations are 9am to 5pm every day, including weekends. Once even after hours. Please see the videos. We were only told of the renovations about 2 weeks before our stay and it was suggested that they wouldn’t inconvenience our stay much. I disagree with this a bit. They chose to do renovation work next to the front pool and the middle pools at the same time, so there is no part of the resort to get away from the noise, except the beachfront. The front pool was better than the middle pools as the construction was more intermittent at the front. For the cost of accomodation and as a standard expected, they really shouldn’t be doing renovations at multiple points throughout the resort and should have informed guests earlier with the option of changing accomodation. Overall though we still enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming again once the renovations are finished.

Second time staying at Griya Santrian. This hotel is all comfort, serenity, and old-fashioned service. You can not help but feel relaxed and cared for here. The immaculate Balinese gardens are so beautiful and peaceful. The 3 pools are luxurious, and each one seems to have a different personality to suit your mood or preference. The buffet breakfasts are such a treat - You can have amazingly fresh fruit, freshly cooked eggs, pancakes, cereal/toast, pastries, and Indonesian options, along with as much coffee/tea as you can drink. And you eat whilst staring at the beautiful sea. The staff are corteous and friendly. The streets of Sanur are just outside with many fun shopping options. 3 Monkeys Cafe down the road does excellent dinners. The boardwalk in front of the hotel is a people watching paradise, and the beach itself is calm and lovely. You can use the kayaks for free and hire bicycles for almost nothing. Griya Santrian is our happy place.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Very comfortable room, beautiful grounds, great location, friendly and helpful staff. Construction works were underway as well as tree pruning during our stay, but staff managed this well. As a non smoker I would like to see stricter adherence to the new smoking rules in Bali (eg around pool, on balcony) as I found the second hand smoke impactful. But overall we would highly recommend this hotel and will return.

Loved Griya .. fantastic pool area with swim up bar right on the beach.. Live music some nights. Breakfast is 7 out of 10 .. Great location. But getting extremely pricey now same price as most Australian or European hotels/ resorts per night.. Maybe affordable for a stronger money like USA but too expensive for Aussie dollar .. but still a wonderful place to visit
