Damian was hands down one of the best parts of our entire trip. He took great care of us and clearly cared about doing a good job. He was warm, relational, and genuinely kind. My husband and I visited during our honeymoon and had an amazing time, but we especially cannot say enough good things about Damian. Overall, the service was good, and I truly have only positive things to say. Our only less-than-great experience was at the Mexican restaurant, and that had nothing to do with the waitstaff themselves. It was clear they were understaffed, which led to longer waits and service that felt rushed. That said, we felt genuinely appreciated by the resort, especially during our hibachi dinner, where we were surprised with a dessert that neither my husband nor I had requested. Easily one of our favorite parts of the trip was getting to know Damian and experience his genuine craft.

Really enjoyed our stay at Grand Park Royal - particularly our hotel room which has a roof top plunge pool looking over the ocean and adult pool. The view was the major highlight. The premium room gives you a lot of perks that the other rooms don’t have. We really like that it has access to the buffet at the steak lounge cause it was the best food there. Also Andiamo (chef William) was good, especially our waiter Mario :). Some of the other food was less good tho - wasn’t a big fan of the Mexican restaurant/room service food as it tastes like has a lot of preservatives in it. The mango margs at the pool and espresso/dirty martinis at cassis are so yummy and the staff there are great. Overall a good stay but consider if food is a really important part although they do have some good options for sure. But the room is pretty unbeatable and the service is good everyone is friendly.

Came here with 2 of my friends for a week away, a slight escape from reality. Am absolutely impressed with the level of service, kindness and support everyone is showing to us. Since the moment we arrived, all of our needs have been thoroughly taken care of. Especially our bar needs (special thanks to Kari, Robert, Belmai and Johan who always made sure that not only we have the best cocktails in hand, but also that we get them with a smile and awesome conversation). Food has been great, room is large, pretty and always clean. The beach is absolutely gorgeous and the experience is top notch! Definitely must try the Italian restaurant in the resort. Appetizers were amazing and food was very tasty and prompt. Special thanks to Derek who took care of us and always provided service with a smile and absolute politeness. Highly recommend!

My wife and I stayed at Grand Park Royal All Inclusive Resort in the Cancun, Mexico, Hotel Zone (Zona Hotelera) from Nov 21 to Nov 28, 2025. It was our first all inclusive experience, so we don't have other experiences to compare with. However that being said, our Grand Park Royal vacation exceeded our expectations. The resort itself is situated on a very large parcel of land fronting directly on to the beach. Every room in the three resort towers and in the individual villas appear to have a balcony or terrace facing the wide, white sand beach and beautiful clear, turquoise ocean (free of sargasum). We enjoyed sitting on our hotel room balcony early in the morning and in the evening and therapeutically taking in the view and sound of the half meter waves rolling steadily in to the shore. Back to the resort, there is an exceptionally caring atmosphere from dedicated staff who strive to provide a wonderful vacation environment. This includes staff tending to gardening, cleaning rooms, cleaning outside surfaces (paths and pool areas), to keeping up with maintenance. There are many areas throughout the resort to relax (including numerous lounge chairs under straw roofs on the beach providing excellent shade; and numerous lounge chairs in the two pool areas). The resort's administrative, restaurant, bar, and entertainment staff were all welcoming. We had good conversations with several staff-members including Claudia in the reception area, Ernestina in the adult pool area (see photo of Ernestina and I), Alejandro and Carlos in the Italian Restaurant, Felipe and Hernán (kind breakfast waiter; I may have written his name incorrectly) in the Mexican Restaurant. The multiple-course meals provided in the resort's à la carte restaurants (Mexican, Italian, and Asian) were not only excellent, but a gastronomical experience. If we return to Cancun, we would without hesitation book a vacation at this resort.

Headline - staff, cleanliness and location are great, rest of it....needs (a lot of) work! We won't be returning unfortunately. My humble opinion is that this was a 4 star resort when built, BUT it's BARELY hanging on to star number 4 I.e. we've spent time in 3 stars that are better! We stayed in a master suite. 2 weeks for 2 people all inclusive (early Dec) cost us circa 5.7k USD. Special shout out to Damien, Karina, Julio (from onsite aquaworld team), our room cleaner (block 1, floor 1), bar staff at adult pool and the lunch bar guy at the kids pool (apologies for not getting all the names) The good - most of the staff were really really good and friendly. Location is great. Weather for us was generally good. Excursions were well worth it, though on the steep (ish) side. Food in SOME of the eateries was acceptable but for main buffet area was VERY POOR! Burgers and nachos etc at pool bar (lunch) area were of good standard, so can't fault them. Facilities and entertainment was ok! Bar selection is ok if you drink cocktails and spirits. Drumroll....... The areas for improvement Sales pitches - We (somehow & luckily) were able to skip and circumvent all the sales patter. When we arrived, we queued for 35+ mins to be checked in (not acceptable for 4 star establishments) and once finally done there, we were passed on to some "concierge" who was supposedly going to give us a quick overview of the resort, but given we were too tired after a 10+ hour flight, we decided to opt out - which the staff member said "is not how it works" however, seeing as we paid a packet to be here - we decide what is and is not the best use of our time! Anyway, we left and haven't spoken to sales staff since. Food - at best was mediocre. I was really looking forward to Mexican style food but the meat quality (in many dishes) was frankly AWFUL. Fatty, full of bones (on the occasions I had chipolatas from buffet), so I decided to save my teeth and not have any going forward. Rooms - are tired, not contemporary or luxury. We stayed in block 1, a lot of maintenance was done quick and on the cheap. Gym - good & basic selection of equipment but most of the machines are dated and worn, showing signs of rust and malfunction (specifically the only bicycle they have - seat keeps moving away from pedals) No robes, slippers or tea in the rooms. Snacks (as part of limited minibar selection) would be nice. All inclusive - Not everything is inclusive - you have to reserve and pay for some 'posh' SUNBEDS? All inclusive wine selection (which is only 1 brand) is VERY limited and poor, BUT, you can pay for "better" wine if you prefer - though I've heard other guests says it's not much better! Checkout - Checjout is at midday but there are no (clear) shower facilities when you have to vacate after 12 e.g. 5pm. You just have to go to the airport sweaty / salty. Late checkout costs you USD 50 PER HOUR! which is insanity! Most reasonable places will allow you a 3 / 4 hour window (season / occupancy dependent) but charging these prices are ridiculous!!! Final thoughts - staff try really hard to deliver 4 star service but corporate management are clearly cutting costs to maximise investor returns. STOP IT as it will FAIL!
