I stayed at Goldi Sands for 3 weeks in February. The hotel is well located on a wide & long beach, my room was spacious with a nice view and some of the staff here are really great, such as Housekeeping and Engineering. The food was nice, only some food replenishment is not controlled by anyone. I had to complain on Guest Relations, but furtunately other emplyees were helpful and accommodating. This hotel also accommodating a corporate segment, Colombian workers who were unfortunately staying in the neighboring rooms. Throughout my entire stay (except weekends) they woke up banging on their beds at 05:15 am, leaving the hotel for the airport around 06:00 morning. Hopefully, the Management now understand the necessity (and its standard everywhere) to separate workers from leisure segment. I keep my long stay visit for next year still opened.

Such a beautiful hotel with outstanding staff. It was always spotless, they couldn’t do enough to help you and located right on the beach. As a vegan, I was worried that I would struggle to find something to eat at a buffet, but they bought soya milk especially for me and the chef cooked me my own 4 course meal each night after I queried if an item was vegan. I didn’t have to ask and he made it feel like it was no hassle, beautifully presented and delicious!

I think this hotel gives a real feeling of Sri Lanka and local atmosphere . It’s well organised business with professional customers service. If you go outside of the hotel you see real street life and calm smiling people. Fantastic window views for many colours of the ocean and palms beaches. Very good price/quality ratio IMHO. 👍 I waited also to my last day to say that there is absolutely phenomenal food: each day is a different kitchen presentation and always local buffet of Sri Lanka food. We have been home now for just over a week. It was our first time in Sri Lanka and we loved it. Sri Lanka itself is stunning. We felt safe at all times . The people are very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is amazing, right on the beach. Fabulous sunsets and sunrises. The rooms and the hotel in general is spotlessly clean. The pool area is also well maintained and friendly staff. The general manager Lal dealt quickly and effectively with the one issue we had which was much appreciated. The staff are all always happy to help .

The front security has absolutely no idea about “customer experience and first impressions" - Wouldn't come again even if offered a free stay of a lifetime! Worst experience ever! Edit: Things didn't get much better through the front door either. Their service level, professionalism, friendliness mostly depends on whether you are a foreigner or not: if foreigner then seemed to be good, if local then it's pretty normal or just bad. To make things worse, during the lunch, a staff member came and counted to double check the head count of the group - felt almost like we smuggled a member in a suitcase! But need to mention: 2 musicians were well talented - could run a show by themselves easily. Food was really good - hats off to the chef team. And there were a very few employees who were committed with customer service quality - was genuinely happy to see that. The moment these handful of talented people walk out this hotel; value of this place will not even come close to a vending machine in a street.
