The food is the best I've tasted in a long time. You wouldn't get a spread like the main stream hotels but what's made is fresh and flavourful. Had all the varieties of seafood so you don't miss much. Looking forward to going there again.

We had a lovely 10 days at Goldi sands from 18/April . ALL the staff were friendly and helpful and I was surprised with both balloons in our room on arrival and a birthday cake at dinner for my 70th birthday. We have no complaints at all other than maybe a bit of updating in the room needed. But they were spotlessly clean.. Also we have to praise our tour guide Sudarshan who went out of his way to make our stay in Sri Lanka so special. We highly recommend him.

We stayed here for a night in a triple room. The price was meant for a five star hotel, but the service and rooms were far from it. But the hotel location was good, was next to the beach, and had a pool. There are peple trying to sell you something the moment you step out to the beach. Kids were playing cricket near the pool in the hotel, and the ball came flying into the pool several times. Breakfast buffet was included in our rate and was reasonable, but thr ala carte menu and any speciality coffee/drinks were priced in USD though made in SL.

My recent stay at this hotel was a complete disaster. The absolute worst part was the staff's complete lack of helpfulness. They organized a ridiculously loud party right outside my room, which went on until 1 AM, despite being told it would end much earlier. When I called reception to ask about the noise, they were incredibly rude and dismissive. I had an early flight and didn’t get any sleep at all. The entire room was vibrating. To add to the misery, the hotel allows locals to come in and harass guests, trying to sell products. They also allow taxi drivers to camp outside the hotel, harassing customers as they enter and leave. The main pool was under construction, and the smaller pool had no sunbeds, making it impossible to relax. The towels provided were old and had holes in them. As if that wasn't enough, the beach was filthy, covered in trash. This hotel clearly doesn't care about its guests or the environment. Save yourself the headache and book somewhere else!

We stayed at Goldi Sands in February, the room was basic but good enough for our stay. We were in the older part of the hotel. Very clean and quiet. The service was first class, nothing was too much trouble. All the staff made our holiday that more special. The food was lovely, always spoilt for choice. They always had live music through out dinner which was a lovely touch. Excellent location to relax or tour. We are already looking forward to returning again next year. Highly recommend! Kitty & Dale
