Mixed feelings about this place. The rooms are OK, bathrooms average, views great, the food though is plentiful but very poor (that’s being kind - it’s all inclusive but after the first breakfast and dinner we ate out the rest of the time. All the soft drinks are not real- they can’t make cappuccino etc well they put some powder in the machine and I’m not sure what comes out. Would go again for the views but they need to up their game on the rooms and change the F&B offering completly.

This hotel is lovely, the views are amazing. The staff are very friendly and really helpful. The food was excellent and there was something for everyone. Our room was lovely and clean and towels changed daily. Can't praise the staff enough. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it.

Great hotel with nice facilities and friendly, helpful staff. The pool area is really nicely presented with both sunny and shady sunbeds - get up early to claim one though. The restaurant serves nice, freshly prepared food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A small poolside bar serves cold drinks all day. Amazing sea views from the hotel bar, pool and most rooms. One downside is there is minimal air conditioning in public areas.

Location great : near lots restaurants , cocktails bar, rental car shops + great views and close to the beach ( walking distance 10,minutes). Hotel staff in reception were very polite and helpful but I cannot say the same about the bar staff .Food is average very repetitive and only breakfast seems fresh and cooked properly .Dinner or lunch reheated most times cold .Glass for drinking dirty - few times got with someone's lipstick on it or bits of food 😡when asked staff for new they changed but very unhappy and angry ....Rooms : shower pressure low and temp keep changing constantly. Not refill coffee sachets or sugar if we used .Towel not changed unless asked .

We stayed in the Golden Mare for one week in mid Oct 2023. We had read the reviews before we went and were somewhat throwing caution to the wind. We needn’t have worried. Spotlessly clean everywhere. Rooms and hotel in general are modern as it’s fairly new. The beds are super comfy and rooms had everything we needed. Pool is clean and beds were plentiful and comfortable. Staff were all super helpful and friendly despite what some reviews said, and they all work very hard. Entertainment provided most nights was hit and miss but that’s just my musical preference. So, from a non fussy eater, I thought the food was ok. Breakfast was fine and if you give the egg chef a nod you can have freshly cooked runny ones. (He looks like someone Indiana jones met on top of a train, but a wink and a smile goes a long way). The food in general was decent and while not always piping hot, the throughput of people meant that if it was piping it would be over cooked, so be clever with your choices. I loved the salads and the fish dishes, with shellfish served some nights too which were absolutely fine. Drinks were fine also, good selection of cocktails and the beer was delicious. If you are fussy you will likely have an issue with the mixers and soft drinks but honestly I thought they were fine. We ate out one or two nights just for a change and the Lord Byron was superb. Expect UK/Ire prices though. We came as a couple and it suited us perfect. There is a decent pool table and table tennis area with some board games for the kids. The spa area and gym looked great. Spa treatments a tad expensive, but the gym seemed well equipped with adequate free weights and loads of cardio machines. Overall I will def recommend and return.
