Disappointing experience. The only positives are the view and the pool, however: 1) Cleanliness: our room was only cleaned ONCE (we booked it for 4 nights / 5 days). It was just utterly disappointing for the price that we paid. No towel replacement, no new sheets or at least taking out the garbage, we are not asking for much here. 2) Bathroom: hot water was almost Non-existent! We had hot water only one day out of the 5 days that we stayed there... Oh, and do not expect to have water all the time either... water pressure comes and goes, once my girlfriend had to finish her shower with mineral water.. 3) Accommodation: we booked the more expensive Double Standard Double Sea View, yes there is a great view, you are up the hill though so expect a bit of climbing (with and without your luggage). 4) Food & Drinks: since the tap water in the hotel tasted a bit salty, I am pretty sure that the coffee machine in the restaurant uses salty water .. my girlfriend was quite disappointed as she enjoys a cup of coffee every morning (as do I). Also, we sometimes skipped meals and instead went to the nearby restaurant (not something you should be doing when staying at a 4-star all inclusive hotel to be honest). 5) Other: expect occasional power cuts (we experienced 3 of those during our stay, although they do get resolved rather quickly).

Normally I do not prefer to write long reviews, but this hotel was huge disappointment... First of all, we are in Greece, why you did not put any olives or at least feta to the breakfast buffet? weakest breakfast ever!!! Secondly, all tea & coffes made with salty-tap water, disgusting- I could never drink any beverages, all the coctails, beers, wines were under the lowest quality, even stuff's smiles and nice behaviours could not cover all these bad experience, plus our room number was 209-never stay at this room. All teenager English guys are screaming all the night almost inside of the room.. And the last thing, unbearable toilet-shower drain smell... Worst all inclusive hotel experience ever!

Lovely pool area and nice drinks with capable, friendly bar staff. Unfortunately the room was very disappointing. There are ants everywhere, mould and dripping air-conditioning. The fridge makes such a loud noise its hard to sleep and the air-conditioning blows right in your face as you try and sleep, making it very uncomfortable. When you turn it off the room quickly heats back up to 35 + degrees. The cleaners cannot do their job. 2 days they did not come (when you can't flush away toilet roll that's pretty disgusting). They then came, took our towels but did not replace them. The phone in the room does not work so have to walk down an extremely steep hill, down four sets of steps to ask them to bring towels and give replace coffee/milk. They replaced them with damp towels. The next day they took all the towels again so we didn't have any in the room. The breakfast is nice and lots of choice and fresh fruit. The coffee is disgusting though. Lunch and dinner is so salty and repetative we ended up eating out the last 3 days of our 5 day trip. The rooftop bar is lovely but you have to pay for drinks there (€14 a cocktail) but lovely views of the sea and mountains. The hotel is just off a very busy road so bus waiting times are long as they are always delayed. It's a narrow road with people parking on both sides making it difficult to pass

Me and my girlfriend stayed here 4 nights at the start of May. As we arrived were greeted and shown are room being told we had been upgraded to the new builds. The new builds are a 5 minute walk all up hill (very very steep) away from the hotel, we were offered to be driven up and driven down at our disposal however when we had asked reception there were many excuses about transport to the room being unavailable meaning when we left the hotel we had to drag our luggage down the hill. The new build rooms our nice however nothing like the pictures shown. The double bed is singles pushed together so sometimes the bed creates a big gap in the middle. The bathroom was nice however looked very run down for a new build and our shower had stopped working one morning. The balcony however is lovely and gives beautiful views which is great for a late night drink on the balcony! Room overall was probably a 2/5. House keeping cleaned our room 2 out of the 4 days we were there. The sheets smelt damp and the towels had a funny smell so could have done with housekeeping actually cleaning the room every morning. All inclusive drinks were very good, lots to choose from and the bar staff very friendly, there is a lovely place to sit outside sheltered and not sheltered, there is also entertainment that happens every night. Drinks/entertainment 5/5 Pool has a lovely view and was very clean, lots of sun beds to choose from with and without shade, so no fighting over sun beds, pool area 4.5/5. The food was very hit and miss however even for the pickiest eaters there is something. Lots of traditional dishes to choose from which was nice to try, including a gyro night. Food 4/5 Overall reception staff could have been more helpful but bar staff and waiters were very good. Would recommend this hotel if you want to go out exploring, transport links to popular places is very good and easy. Overall stay at golden mare 2.5/5

Excellent room and top service at the reception. Everything clean and well managed. Difficult to understand why many comments considered food as avarage. It is really one of the best restaurants in all inclusive that I experienced including 5 stars hotels and adult only resorts.
