Came on a package deal through Expedia. Staff are really friendly. Pool area is lovely. Food a little disappointing at times. Sometimes a few nice mains and other days not so great. Our room was lovely, but the bed was really soft and gave me backache. I asked reception if they could change the mattress, and they said they would speak to the housekeeping, but nothing came of it, so I just endured it. Our room was above the bar and had drunk people laughing and talking loudly till 1am in the morning. I eventually had to ask them to please be quiet. Far from the beach but they do offer a taxi service to the beach . The entertainment they put on every night was really good. Traditional Greek dancing one night , a guy on a keyboard who was really good and a small band who were great too. All in all it was a great stay for the price we paid and I probably would go back there.

Me and my girlfriend stayed here 4 nights at the start of May. As we arrived were greeted and shown are room being told we had been upgraded to the new builds. The new builds are a 5 minute walk all up hill (very very steep) away from the hotel, we were offered to be driven up and driven down at our disposal however when we had asked reception there were many excuses about transport to the room being unavailable meaning when we left the hotel we had to drag our luggage down the hill. The new build rooms our nice however nothing like the pictures shown. The double bed is singles pushed together so sometimes the bed creates a big gap in the middle. The bathroom was nice however looked very run down for a new build and our shower had stopped working one morning. The balcony however is lovely and gives beautiful views which is great for a late night drink on the balcony! Room overall was probably a 2/5. House keeping cleaned our room 2 out of the 4 days we were there. The sheets smelt damp and the towels had a funny smell so could have done with housekeeping actually cleaning the room every morning. All inclusive drinks were very good, lots to choose from and the bar staff very friendly, there is a lovely place to sit outside sheltered and not sheltered, there is also entertainment that happens every night. Drinks/entertainment 5/5 Pool has a lovely view and was very clean, lots of sun beds to choose from with and without shade, so no fighting over sun beds, pool area 4.5/5. The food was very hit and miss however even for the pickiest eaters there is something. Lots of traditional dishes to choose from which was nice to try, including a gyro night. Food 4/5 Overall reception staff could have been more helpful but bar staff and waiters were very good. Would recommend this hotel if you want to go out exploring, transport links to popular places is very good and easy. Overall stay at golden mare 2.5/5

the hotel is beautiful but it definitely lacks a lot of things, our shower leaks, the mattress has a massive ditch in it which the hotel hasn’t sorted and the walls are extremely thin. You can hear so much through them, you can also hear everything from down in the bar until early hours of the morning so if people are loud it’s awful. The beaches near the hotel are gorgeous and so is the over all hotel. The food is very repetitive and not many healthy options, i also don’t think the pool area is big enough for how many people the accommodate for, one day i saw a lot of people not able to get a sunbed.

Staff on reception flagging off other customers infront of us and laughing. Drinks tasted cheap and the pumps kept breaking as there were multiple power cuts! Food wasn't the best, breakfast was the only decent meal. Nothing surrounding the area either unless you go further out. Lots of complaints from other customers and some people had to get a taxi to their room as it was that far from the main entrance! Although the hotel appears to look nice on photos it is ultimately a MARE!

My boyfriend and I have just come to the end of a weeklong-stay at the Golden Mare Resort. To start with, the surrounding location is lovely. The closest beach is no longer than 5 minutes to walk, there are plenty of little market shops including one attached to the hotel, a couple supermarkets a very short distance from the hotel and lots of lovely restaurants with a beautiful view to choose from nearby if you like. All the staff were lovely and so helpful with any questions or concerns we had. The food was delicious, sometimes a little bit samey but nothing less than I would expect from an all inclusive and was always yummy so cannot complain! If I’m being picky, all I would say is the cocktails could be a little bit better. But overall a great time 🩷
