This place is paradise on earth! It’s indescribable and by far the most beautiful place I’ve ever visited. I had the pleasure of proposing to my fiancé here and the Mr Friday Tesla helped all of this dream become a reality. He is by far the nicest human being you will ever meet and is happy to help you at every point of your trip without any complaints. Everyone speaks so highly of him and this is for a very good reason. Here’s to Tesla running the place one day as manager! FIFA for everyone! Not only is this one of the most beautiful places in the world but the way you are treated is phenomenal and attention to detail is sublime. The staff catered so attentively to our dietary requirements and made us feel so comfortable during this stay. Pictures can’t do this place justice and it’s somewhere you really need to go and visit yourself to experience it in full form. Thank you to everyone at Gili who made our trip of a lifetime one to remember. Imogen & Ben ❤️

Best resort I’ve been to so far — top notch in every way. Personalized service that makes you feel at home, food that’s the bomb, and villas all built offshore so you get your own live aquarium right under you. If you’re into water sports, Gili has it all — sailing, snorkeling, diving, you name it. And it’s only 20 minutes from Malé airport, so no long tiring transfers. Our 4D3N trip was just perfect. This is my second time in the Maldives and it still feels like paradise. Big thanks to our Mr Friday, Markib & Taslim, and the whole crew for the best hospitality ever ❤️

Guest Feedback – 10th Anniversary Stay at Gili We chose Gili to celebrate our 10th anniversary, largely influenced by the glowing reviews we had read. Unfortunately, our experience shows how subjective those reviews can be — we were surprised at the gap between expectation and reality. Positive Highlights • The staff were the saving grace of our 10-night stay. They were efficient, polite, and always attentive. • Our Mr. Friday, Zuba, deserves special recognition for his excellent service and care throughout our stay. Key Concerns 1. Villa & Maintenance • We stayed in a higher-tier water villa, but found maintenance lacking. • The private pool had poorly maintained tiling, with a rough floor finish. • Pest control had to be called several times due to giant bees, which frightened my wife and daughter from using the pool. • Electrical sockets were faulty, and internet/TV connections unstable. • Clothes hangers, though handmade, were impractical in design. • Toiletries were bland and uninspired, not fitting the luxury positioning. 2. Resort Facilities • The common pool was unpleasant to use, with some guests (particularly families from China) displaying unhygienic habits such as spitting or blowing noses into the pool. This was not monitored or addressed by staff. • Overall cleanliness was average: seaweed around the beach was not cleared properly, and some floorboards had nails protruding — a safety hazard. • The spa treatments and product offerings were at best average, far from a 5-star luxury standard. 3. Environmental / Visual Setting • The tranquil views were heavily disrupted by the over-development of Malé and nearby islands. • Tankers and supply ships were constantly visible, destroying the serenity and natural sightlines that one expects from a Maldivian luxury resort. 4. Value vs. Positioning • For the high rates charged, the product is not aligned with the price point. • It is clear the resort is not reinvesting sufficiently in upkeep, maintenance, or enhancements. • The impression is that management (HPL) is more focused on extracting maximum short-term returns than on sustaining long-term brand value. Conclusion While the staff, and particularly Zuba, made a genuine effort to salvage our experience, the overall offering did not live up to the reputation or the premium charged. The current strategy reflects poorly on HPL and, regrettably, tarnishes the reputation of Ong Beng Seng and the Ong family. This is not reflective of the standards one expects from HPL.

This place is absolutely amazing. 20 minute boat ride from Male. It is an expensive island and many islands can be had for a fraction of the price, but you are paying for the exclusivity. Not many people on this island. About low 30 over the water bungalows. A handful of them are not connected to the island called Robinson Crusoe. They give you bamboo framed bikes to ride around. They take some getting used to as the frame isn’t solid. This place is beautiful. Everyone gets a butler and they are at your service. You can swim and do some water activities and relax. Not much else to do here. Would definitely go back!
