Gili Lankanfushi is a serene overwater villa resort set in the North Malé Atoll, only about a 20-minute speedboat ride from Velana International Airport. It offers barefoot luxury with 45 rustic-chic overwater villas, many built using environmentally friendly materials and designed to blend in with natural surroundings. Guests enjoy personalised service including a dedicated butler known as “Mr Friday” and numerous dining venues ranging from beachfront to overwater and private settings. What makes a trip to the Maldives better? The view? the Amenities? The size of the Room? The kindness of people working on the island? Having travelled a lot in the Maldives and in the most luxurious places (Waldorf Astoria, Joali, Kani etc...) I can now tell you that when a sense of service and kindness is as high as on Gili resort, you spend an unforgettable trip. From the day you arrive to the day you leave, the whole island makes you feel home. From the double espresso you take at 11am to the gluten free diet you follow, once you mention it to one person, the whole island will remember it and make sure you always have what you need. The room is spectacular (biggest room we ever had in the Maldives), less restaurant as in Warldorf or Joali but every night a new theme for the dinner make it like you always eat a different kind of food. And what to say about our Butler, Shaany, a wonderful person, she a big part of why we loved Gili. Telling us about Maldivian culture, and always making sure everything was perfect at any time. To be honest I felt that in other resort you are just a customer that they try to milk the most possible with extras, and you can end up with a final bill of 20K, but here it's never the case. Plenty of free activities, cocktail parties, I mean you pay 2 or 3 times less then other big 5 stars name but you leave with much more memories. I will be back for sure! We’ve visited the Maldives several times, and this has truly been the best experience we’ve ever had. The entire team was incredibly friendly — from the resort manager to our amazing butler Shaany (they call Mr Friday here :)), tennis coach, restaurant staff, and housekeeper. Everyone made us feel so welcome. As guests, we could genuinely feel the culture and hospitality, and we truly appreciated it. The resort is a perfect size — it offers all the amenities you could want, yet it never feels crowded. I even had the yoga chamber all to myself and spent hours there, which was absolutely wonderful. :) We usually like to try different resorts for new experiences, but this one is definitely a keeper. What an amazing experience at Gili Lankanfushi! From the moment you meet the team at the airport, everything is taken care of with such a warm welcome. This was my second visit, and it certainly didn't disappoint. We stayed over the New Year period, and the resort put on an absolute show—the food was incredible! Our villa was stunning as always, but having a pool this time was a game-changer; it was great to have a private swimming option when it got windy on the other side of the island. The food was a real stand out, it has to be some of the best food I’ve had and boy what a selection! I dream of the breakfast buffets! A special shout-out to our Mr. Friday, Mifsal! He has been with Gili since our last visit in 2020, which really speaks to the quality and loyalty of the team there. If you are looking for a boutique luxury experience in the Maldives, this is the place to be! We will be back!

Gili Lankanfushi is the place dreams are made of. Words don’t really do it justice but I’ll try. This spot is so breathtaking and beautiful. Clear water, rays, fish - spectacular marine life. The food was incredible. We had so many insane meals and had such a special experience in the Japanese restaurant with the tasting menu and sake flight with the sommelier, Ramen who is so knowledgeable and helpful throughout our stay. We also had incredible service from our Ms. Friday, Shaany who was helpful in arranging all things from breakfast in our room, to sunset champagne, surfing, diving, etc. She was so professional and kind. We also loved our time surfing with Tropic Surf and Courtenay & Mikah were fantastic. We had a total blast surfing with them! Gili has an incredible staff/team. So many more wonderful friends we made that worked there and we miss them all. Beautiful island, beautiful people. We hope to go back!

Our stay at the resort was nothing less than memorable and Incredible! Everyone was super friendly and cooperative. The staff is on another level and every detail was taken care of! A true experience to connect to one’s self and nature! Our Ms. Friday Shaany, made our experience even more comfortable. She was very friendly, helpful and attentive. She made our stay special even at the departure by surprising us with a drawing of us on the beach. What a thoughtful gesture! She’s truly a gem! Each and every one of the staff is a part of the lovely experience we had! Gili Lankanfushi is not only a getaway resort, it’s a community that feels like home to its customers and staff. I recommend that you ask for a host tour with the Chief Engineer Majed! You’d see something beyond your imagination! Their self-made and sustainable energy, products, and food is something truly admirable.
