If you are looking for a great experience during your holiday stay in Koh Samui, then this is the property to choose. From the moment you arrive, you feel genuinely welcomed at every step. The entire team—from the front office and restaurant staff to the buggy drivers and security personnel—goes out of their way to make your stay comfortable and memorable. A special mention to the wonderful lady at the fruit salad counter every morning (fondly known as the “Chop Chop Lady”). She brought a smile to our faces every day and made breakfast a delightful experience. The person who truly makes you feel special, valued, and treated like royalty is “KOOKIK”. Garrya is privileged to have a team member like her. Her warmth, professionalism, and genuine care for guests are exceptional and left a lasting impression on us. We will definitely come back to Koh Samui, and this property will be one of the main reasons for our return. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so memorable. Highly recommended!

We stayed here with our son and daughter in law for 10 days. Our stay at Garrya Tongsai Bay Samui was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel genuinely welcome. The entire team was incredibly friendly, warm, and attentive throughout our stay — nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and every interaction came with a sincere smile. A special thank you to Kookik at breakfast, who remembered our names each morning. That personal touch truly made us feel valued and set such a lovely tone for the day. It’s these thoughtful details that make this hotel stand out. The food at FishTales was an absolute highlight. Every meal was delicious, beautifully presented, and full of fresh flavours. Dining there became something we looked forward to each day. We also have to give special mention to the wonderful staff around the pool. They went above and beyond to keep everyone comfortable — ensuring we were constantly hydrated, offering refreshing cold towels, and surprising us with little treats throughout the day. Their attentiveness really elevated the whole experience and made lounging by the pool feel effortlessly luxurious. Overall, Garrya Tongsai Bay delivers not only a stunning setting but truly outstanding service. We would highly recommend it and can’t wait to return! Beautiful place, with perfect scenery. At breakfast, a sweet lady, always with a smile, prepares excellent juices from high-quality fruit. The quality of the fruit at this hotel was higher than at the other 5-star hotels in Thailand we've been to. There is a very kind, intelligent lady named Kookik who went out of her way for us to make sure we were satisfied with everything related to the food here and to accommodate all our peculiarities. All the restaurants in the resort were of an exceptionally high standard. There are also two excellent pools here, both with breathtaking views of the beach and the forest. There is also direct access to the beach itself, with the opportunity to swim.

We enjoyed our family holiday over Christmas 2025. It is a very interesting place. It is not the most modern of resorts (it was built nearly 40 years ago, although it was renovated recently) and this gives it an exquisite charm. As many other reviewers have noted it is in a stunning, very large (just walking around is about 3 km) and private location (yet only 15 min from the airport). The resort has only about 80 rooms/villas (very spacious with large terraces) and the main attraction for us was the low key and quiet surroundings – the resort has its own beach and beautiful gardens. Had it been developed in the last 15-20 years, they would probably have constructed at least double the number of rooms, another 2-3 restaurants and bars and generally overbuilt the site. The low key also had the advantage that even at peak times we did not have a problem finding a beach bed/umbrella or a table for breakfast/dinner (although we only had dinner in twice since we like to explore). We were able to play tennis and use paddle boards (all free) at will and those few times we asked for buggies they arrived within 2-3 minutes. The staff were generally amazing – friendly, attentive, helpful, and there was always a personal touch by remembering our names. The personal touch is exemplified by the hotel manager personally taking your breakfast order at the counter and then finding you at your table! On the last day we were unable to use the beach because of heavy rain and they gave us use of a day room until we left for the airport! In summary: recommended if you want a personal charming resort to relax and unwind and we would definitively return.

We don’t just like this hotel, we’re hugely fond of it. It's our favourite, and we’ve been lucky enough to travel a bit. This was our second stay, and by our final evening, cocktails in hand, watching the light fade over the beach, we were already planning our third. So what makes it so special? It’s not one single thing, but a very rare combination: genuinely warm, intuitive service delivered by wonderful people; a team that seems to care without ever hovering; and a setting that feels almost woven into nature rather than placed upon it, respecting the wonderful landscape. The lush surroundings and thoughtfully designed rooms don’t just look beautiful, they feel calm, considered, and quietly luxurious. We kept coming back to the same phrase during our stay, and that was that it has a real “family feel.” It’s something many hotels aim for but few truly achieve. Here, it’s effortless, and that doesn’t happen by accident. It speaks volumes about both the leadership and the people working here. A special mention has to go to Manuel Lang, the General Manager. He strikes that elusive balance perfectly, being present but never intrusive, attentive without ever feeling formal. He welcomes guests personally, says goodbye just as thoughtfully, and in between can be found helping his team at breakfast or joining in the hotel’s social moments. Seeing him and his amazing team take part in the Songkran celebrations was a particular highlight, not just because it was great fun, but because it showed a team that feels comfortable, valued, and genuinely happy. That kind of atmosphere can’t be staged; it reflects real care and connection behind the scenes. We could go on (and on) about what makes this place so special, but part of us wants to keep it as our little secret…Thank you Manuel and your brilliant team, we miss Tongsai already! But we will be back!
