I spent just one night at Garrya Tongsai Bay Samui during my first trip to Koh Samui, and it left a far deeper impression than I expected. From the moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us with genuine warmth — a lovely mix of Thai charm and polished, international service. The welcome drink was delightful, and the traditional string bracelet was a small but thoughtful gesture that instantly made us feel at home. Our seafront room was bright, spacious, and immaculately clean, with a sweeping view of the ocean. I particularly loved the balcony bathtub with the hotel’s own bath foam and salts; the scent alone made the whole space feel wonderfully relaxing. I also visited the spa, where Ms Lucy gave an excellent treatment. Her recommendation — an organic coconut oil massage — was heavenly, and I was so relaxed that I actually fell asleep. Dinner happened to be Wagyu Night, and the picanha was beautifully done: flavourful, tender, and very good value. Breakfast the next morning offered plenty of choice, and even on the morning we checkout the staff surprised us with a small parting gift that showed real attention to detail. Before leaving, we were also given a scented sachet matching the fragrance of the room amenities — a simple but touching way of letting us take a piece of the holiday home with us. It’s easy to see why so many guests return time and again. I certainly hope to do the same next time I'm in Samui.

Tranquil hotel away from all the tourist busy markets. Great for spending time with family, couples or alone. Loved the space and service specially from the restaurant in the morning, front desk Kam, Pear and Jazz. Great optional activities during the day like meditation, yoga or tai chi. Food is great, clean spaces and well maintained. Private beach and pool. Easy to spend the whole day in relaxing or easy to rent a scooter and go around the island. Thanks Garrya!!!!

We had an excellent experience at the hotel. Our beach-facing room offered stunning views and was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The facilities were top-notch, and the staff was exceptionally polite and attentive throughout our stay. The food at Fishtales was delicious, and the team’s care in managing food allergies was truly appreciated. My daughter especially enjoyed her time at the Child Play Area with Bella, doing drawing, coloring, mask-making, and doughnut-making. From check-in to check-out, everything was seamless. Highly recommended for families looking for comfort, great hospitality, and scenic views.

My review will mirror many other travellers who have stayed at Garrya Tongsai Bay Samui. This is such a beautiful resort to holiday at, a place with so many positive features that really does make it a cut above the rest. My husband and I stayed in a seafront suite (room 209) for three weeks, which was completely private and had amazing views in different directions. The room was spacious with a huge balcony where the outdoor bath was located which we made full use of overlooking the fantastic sea views. Our room was a bit of a walk to the main restaurants, lobby and pool area with quite a number of steps but this did not bother us in the least, in fact we quite enjoyed the walk. Because the resort is sprawling in its layout they have a buggy system to take you around or pick you up from a meeting point near your room which is great if you don't want to negotiate all the steps. You can also take the buggy up to the main gate and walk to Choeng Mon Beach and township which took us 8 - 10 minutes. The resort does provide a daily shuttle service that takes you there as well. There are plenty of restaurants, bars and massage outlets to enjoy there. The private beach at the resort was lovely, the sea calm and easy to swim in except for the last few days of our stay when it was closed because of the weather and choppy seas due to November being the rainy season. Rainy season or not we had two and a half weeks of perfect weather. The pool area was lovely with the staff making up your chosen lounger each day with two towels, one laid out on the chair and the other as your head rest. They would then bring around cups of cold water which was frequently topped up. On occasion trays of watermelon and pineapple were offered to guests and each day staff would deliver ice cold face clothes to refreshen and cool down with. We dined at Fish Tails restaurant at the resort several times and found the food very nice although more expensive than the restaurants situated in Choeng Mon Beach, which is to be expected. The breakfast buffet was amazing, so much choice on offer and the staff, Cha, Carlo, Kookik, Obb, Don and Reen provided excellent service and often greeted us by name and always remembered what our coffee preference was. It was my birthday during our stay and a small cake was delivered to our table along with a card and two glasses of bubbles before the staff all sung happy birthday to me. A really nice touch. Our lovely cleaner Pui brought daily treats to our room and each day gave me a frangipani flower as she knew how much I loved the fragrance. On my birthday she decorated our bed with flowers and a happy birthday sign. Every Thursday the resort hosted a happy hour to meet and greet with other guests where complimentary drinks were provided, something we have not experienced at other resorts. The general manager Manuel was present at breakfast during the week walking around chatting and engaging with the guests and who wasn't above assisting staff in clearing tables. My husband and I have holidayed in Phuket three times and this is our second stay in Koh Samui, Koh Samui being our favourite. Garrya Tongsai Bay Samui is the best resort we have stayed at. This place really does provide the personal touch and little extras we have not experienced at any other resort. On the day we left Manuel farewelled us as our taxi arrived and encouraged us to return, and return we will! Thank you for an amazing stay!

My wife and I stayed here for the first few days of our two-week vacation in Thailand and absolutely loved our experience. This was our first visit to Thailand (we are from California) and the staff reached out to us before our arrival to help with airport transfers which was very much appreciated. From the moment we arrived the staff was available, helpful and welcoming. Our room was clean, well appointed and the service was attentive without being overbearing. It rained quite a bit while we were there (late October 2025), but hearing the rainfall during our spa treatments added to our relaxation. The daily breakfast was exceptional with a wide variety of fresh fruit, pastries, and a wonderful mix of traditional Thai and western options. If we ever return to Samui, we will definitely book here again!
