Me and my husband stayed at the Gara Suites for 5 days and 4 nights, and would definitely recommend to families and travellers as it was really worth the money. We booked a suite with a balcony and the room was equipped with a kitchen and living room, which was a big plus for us since we could cook. The breakfast had a great variety as well and the poolside was great and really clean. What I would say is the reception is always busy with only 2 people working there, so the queue can really build up, especially when checking in and checking out, but other than that, we had a great stay. Would book again for sure!

Hotel was spotless, our room was amazing, spread out over 2 floors. The staff are so friendly and go out of their way for you. Room cleaned daily. Hotel pool is lovely and warm. No rush for sun loungers as there’s loads. Bingo was great fun! Made extra fun by the young lady (I forget her name) Ideal location. 20 minute walk from the town (€6 euro taxi) 10 minute walk to Siam Mall (€4 euro taxi) I would recommend this hotel to anyone, and I’d definitely stay again.

Negatives: On the day before last, at 10 am, they started carving the cover with a chisel right next to the pool, behind the sun loungers. They made a terrible noise, it was impossible to relax. Even though we told the reception that they would do it later in the afternoon, when the guests would leave after sunbathing, they didn't deal with it. It was impossible to contact the manager. They finished it in the afternoon... They continued the next morning... So they stole half a day from our rest... We haven't experienced anything like this anywhere else, very bad attitude. Most people left the place because of this. The shower in the room was faulty. A screw should have been tightened so that the shower head wouldn't fall off. We reported it to the maid, then to the reception, but they didn't come to fix it. With the 3rd complaint, it turned out that the repair staff couldn't even go in without us (?), so we didn't understand why they promised to fix it the first 2 times...in the end, we got bored and made do with a temporary solution. This attitude shows terrible negligence on the part of the staff - respect for the exception. So we are forced to write our experiences to others, so that they don't get nervous about them too, in case someone takes them into account. 2 stars and not 1 because the pool water was warm... They should think about whether if the hotel wants higher occupancy, they should pay attention to these things... No wonder half of the rooms were not in use, even though they would have good features. It's a shame we couldn't talk to the managers about these things. Hopefully, they will talk to their colleagues...

After the official check-in time of 3:00 PM, we were still waiting for the receptionist to become available. After about 20 minutes — already tired from travelling — he finally assisted us, but we were sent in the wrong direction and spent another 15 minutes finding our room due to poor communication from housekeeping. When we entered the room, there was no water at all — not even one bottle for the first day, and no option to purchase any. There was also no kettle, tea, or coffee. After a long journey, at least basic water should have been available, even for an extra charge. The next day, a bingo event was scheduled, but when it didn’t start on time and we asked reception, they said they didn’t know anything about it and suggested it was probably cancelled. We were surprised that reception staff were not informed. Entertainment is so poor in the evening. We had a similar issue with pool towels — no one had time to take the £20 deposit and provide them. We were sent from place to place, but no one seemed willing or able to help. Overall, we like the weather and sun make a brighter day.

This is a nice enough hotel, slightly out of the way from the ‘main’ strip or beachfront but it only took me maybe 20 mins walk but that’s fine as there are also many taxis waiting outside constantly. I usually took a taxi back after a night out at Veronica’s strip or Papagayo. The hotel room was huge and was more like an apartment. It was clean and the cleaning staff did a good job. My view was of the golf course which was scenic. The pool was warm even in January. I watched an Elvis tribute act on the last day which was good quality. The poolside had food service and drinks obviously. Not a bad option if you don’t mind staying a little out of the way. The only downside was the WiFi was a little hit and miss in my room, but it was fine in the reception and pool area .
