Although this hotel is huge, I felt like the price was way too high for what is offered. Firstly, for a 5 star hotel, there is no valet service. Secondly, the rooms are very dated. There is a lot of scuff marks and dried paint drippings. The couch in the room has a lot of marks on it. Thirdly, the pool area needs considerable cleaning, especially the loungers. Bird droppings and broken loungers are evident. While I was at the pool, not a single staff member came to open the shade or ask me if I needed anything like water or food. They were not attentive at all. Lobby is quite uninviting and a lot of things in the resort were closed (this should be made aware during booking). Also no robes available in the room unless you pay for it. Also no shampoo available in the room. Also, we were made to wear wrist bands during the entirety of our stay, which is very bizarre for a 5 star resort. I don’t want to be showering, sleeping, going out, using the toilet, swimming, eating etc while wearing a resort wrist band for 5 days straight. Now I will talk about what I liked about the hotel. It’s huge. If you like walking, you will enjoy walking around the resort. There is also a buggie service which will take you from one hotel to the other so you can enjoy the amenities. There are plenty of restaurants options within the hotel and also along the walk (Chinese, middle eastern and western). Room service was quick and fresh and the food tastes great. The location of the resort is around 30 mins away from Salalah city Centre so you can have peace and quiet. I presume during peak season the jet skis and boats will be available. The bathroom is huge which is nice, and there is always hot water.

I had the pleasure of spending my vacation at Fanar Hotel and it was truly a great experience! The food was absolutely delicious – fresh, varied, and full of flavor. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and always smiling. The housekeeping team did a wonderful job keeping the room spotless every day. The whole hotel was very clean, well-maintained, and beautifully organized. I had an amazing time there and can definitely recommend it!

A really nice place to stay. There is just enough space to not feel like some other cramped resorts but everything is still close enough. 3 beaches to choose from and food in all the restaurants and beach shacks is great and changing often. Plenty of sports activities on site and connections to local dive school or other water sports. Staff friendly and helpful and service to a high standard whilst still keeping the vibe relaxed

I was really looking forward to my stay, but unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by a strong moldy smell in the room. The moment I walked in, the musty odor was noticeable and made the space feel damp and unclean. I tried airing out the room, but the smell lingered the entire time, which made it hard to relax or sleep comfortably. It seemed to be coming from the walls or air vents, possibly due to poor ventilation or hidden moisture issues. This is not just a matter of comfort—it’s also a health concern, especially for those with allergies or respiratory problems. A thorough cleaning and proper mold remediation are definitely needed. Until the issue is addressed, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. A clean-smelling room is basic hospitality, and sadly, this place missed the mark.

Review of Fanar Hotel & Residences, Oman (March 9-16, 2025) I would like to express my sincere appreciation for my stay at Fanar Hotel & Residences in Oman from March 9 to 16, 2025. First of all, I would like to give my highest compliments to Mehedi Hassan, who was responsible for cleaning the rooms. His professionalism, attention to detail, and exceptional kindness truly stood out. I stayed in room 439, and I personally witnessed his dedication to providing impeccable service. Without a doubt, he was the best in his role and deserves great recognition for his outstanding work. Regarding the structure, the hotel is beautiful and well-maintained, providing a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. However, I would like to point out an aspect that could be improved in the international restaurant (and partially in the other restaurants as well): while I appreciated the quality of the food, I noticed that the waiters tend to remove plates too quickly, even when they are not completely finished. A special thanks goes to Elisa, Andrea, Enzo, and the other Andrea from the Franco Rosso team, who always showed great kindness and professionalism. In particular, I would like to praise Elisa, who stood out for her availability and dedication to excellent service. Other guests I spoke with also shared the same opinion. However, I would like to mention a small issue with Ms. Serena, also from the Franco Rosso team. I found her approach to be a bit too strict, with a somewhat military-like attitude and rather invasive looks. Other guests also noticed this, and I believe that a more relaxed and friendly approach would be more suitable for a vacation setting. Additionally, I would like to acknowledge the hotel photographer Hassan and team, who did an excellent job capturing special moments during my stay. The photoshoot was carefully managed, with high-quality images and great professionalism. One aspect that particularly impressed me was the ocean beach, which is truly breathtaking. I hope that in the future it will be maintained with the same attention given to the lagoon at the entrance of the hotel because this beach truly deserves it. It would also be beneficial to have more staff providing service on the beach, not just the Franco Rosso team, to further enhance the guest experience. Lastly, a special mention goes to the SPA, which offers a truly relaxing and well-organized experience. The treatments were carried out with great attention and professionalism, making my stay even more enjoyable. Overall, my stay was very positive, and I highly recommend this hotel for the quality of its services. Thank you again to all the staff for their hospitality!
