This was our third visit and it never disappoints. Our luxurious and comfortable room was oceanfront with chaises both on our patio and on the stunning beach. Great food and friendly service made for a wonderful stay. A shout out to Aleesha whose big friendly smile welcomed us for breakfast, to Shane who made up our chaises and ensured we were never short of towels and Mary Ann our hard working and efficient server in the restaurant. We look forward to the re-opening of Palm Court on our next visit.

We booked our stay at the Fairmont Royal Pavilion in Barbados through American Express Platinum Fine Hotels & Resorts, which entitles us to specific perks — early check-in (12 PM), room upgrade upon availability, daily breakfast for two, a $100 property credit, and late checkout (4 PM). Unfortunately, from the moment we arrived, the experience was disorganized and disappointing. We arrived around 2:30 PM, expecting our upgraded room to be ready, but the staff seemed unaware of the Amex booking benefits. After waiting while they “looked into it,” we were told we would receive an upgrade — yet our room was still not ready. We were sent to the beach restaurant to wait, where the menu was extremely limited. We ordered a mozzarella and tomato salad only to be told they were out of mozzarella, and the only cheese available was goat cheese. We ended up sitting there for over an hour and a half, finally receiving our room at the regular 4 PM check-in time. The property itself looked dated and poorly maintained, not what one would expect from a Fairmont-branded, 5-star hotel. Once we got to the room, it was thankfully clean and comfortable, with a beautiful ocean view. However, the “upgrade” seemed questionable — when I called to confirm, the front desk explained that the room I originally booked would have been on the second floor, and the one we received was the same category, just on the third floor. That felt misleading and disappointing. The next morning’s breakfast was another letdown. There were cats wandering near the food, and when we asked about it, staff simply said they were “part of the hotel.” It’s unacceptable and unsanitary for animals to be that close to a buffet. The cheese platter was half melted, the smoked salmon didn’t appear properly chilled, and most of the hot food was dry and overcooked — and it was only 9 AM. The only decent option was the made-to-order omelettes, which we ate for the three days we stayed. We spent most of our time off property with friends rather than at the hotel, which says a lot about how uninspiring the experience was. When it came time to check out, we requested our Amex late checkout benefit (4 PM) but were denied. After calling back to ask for at least a small extension, we were reluctantly given an extra hour. Overall, what was supposed to be a romantic getaway in paradise turned into a “we wish we had booked Sandy Lane instead” kind of trip. For a hotel under the Fairmont and Accor brand, this was a major disappointment and well below 5-star expectations. Sadly, our first visit to Barbados will be remembered not for its beauty, but for this underwhelming hotel experience.

My stay at the Fairmont Royal Pavilion was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality that made me feel instantly at home. The beachfront location is simply breathtaking. The rooms are beautifully appointed, with luxurious touches and all the comforts one could ask for. I especially appreciated the private balcony, perfect for enjoying a quiet morning coffee or a sunset cocktail. The staff went above and beyond throughout my stay, always attentive and eager to help with a smile. I highly recommend the Fairmont Royal Pavilion to anyone looking for a refined and relaxing escape in Barbados. I’ll definitely be back!

My fiancé and I visited Fairmont for their Bubbles brunch on 28 Sept, 2025 after calling to make a 12Pm reservation earlier in the week. The occasion was my birthday. We arrived exactly at 12 and stood at the hostess booth..after recognizing no one was coming to us though several wait staff were walking back and forth in front of us, we went to the bartender and asked to be seated. He told us the hostess was at break and that we could take a seat in the lobby. 12:30 came, the hostess had still not come back and no one updated us on what was going on. At 12:40 my fiancé asked an employee when would we be seated, he then pointed to the hostess who had just come back said she will come to us, she never came. We went to her and expressed our discontent and asked for a manager. When the hostess returned she stated they did not have a reservation for us and proceeded to make several excuses to the manager. After about 5 mins we were seated. Fortunately, we had a great waiter, Renee, her service was 12/10, if she wasn’t the waiter I would have rated this hotel 0 out of 10. The food was okay, nothing was particularly good.

Our trip was delightful. The service, restaurant staff & food was great! Beach is beautiful! Floor tile grout in room & bathroom was dirty. However management sent housekeeping to clean. Ocean view from room was amazing. Wish the resort had a prettier pool.
