Mini Bar with soft drinks, local and imported beer, water, light snacks, and sweets are available for your enjoyment in the comfort of your room. A few specialty menu items (shown with * in the menus). Service is by the glass (bottles are not included). We recently held our Annual Meeting at Fairmont Mayakoba, and it was an outstanding experience. Ana Garcia, Director of Events, was incredible to work with, she was organized, communicative, and truly attentive to every detail. She and her team took great care of us and made the entire planning process seamless. The property is beautiful and peaceful, the rooms are spacious and lovely, and all of our meals were excellent, not a single complaint. Our guests had a fantastic time and shared nothing but positive feedback. The only “grumble” was the 60-degree weather during a cold front, definitely not the hotel’s fault, and they did their best to keep our meeting space warm and comfortable. Highly recommend for corporate meetings and events!

We recently stayed at the Fairmont Mayakoba and had mixed feelings about the experience. First, the setting is absolutely beautiful. The entire Mayakoba complex — shared with several luxury resorts — is stunning. The mangroves, lagoons, wildlife, and pathways make the property feel very special and well designed. Unfortunately, the food and drinks were a major disappointment, especially given the price point. The food across most restaurants was very mediocre. In many cases the prices were higher than restaurants in Vancouver, yet the quality didn’t come close to matching the cost. We expected great Mexican cuisine but surprisingly couldn’t find truly good tacos or memorable Mexican food during the entire stay. The cocktails were another letdown. Margaritas and other drinks often tasted more like juice than proper cocktails. When we asked to add an extra shot to balance the drink, we were surprised to learn the additional shot was $18 USD each, which felt excessive. We aren’t sure if we want to come back.

Fantastic stay! There are no other words to describe it. The property is amazing, one of the best properties we have ever stayed in. The team always went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional and made every request happen. We have never experienced such high quality in F&B offerings in an all inclusive hotel. I rarely write reviews, but the experience we are having at the Fairmont Mayakoba has been so frustrating that I feel obligated to warn other travelers. This property presents itself as a luxury resort, but the reality has been the exact opposite. First, breakfast has been a complete disaster. Every morning there has been a line of nearly one hour just to get seated. At a hotel of this supposed category, this level of disorganization is simply unacceptable. Then came the room issues. The air conditioning in our original room completely stopped working, making the room extremely uncomfortable in the Cancun heat. After reporting it, the hotel took nine hours to move us to another room. Nine hours. For a supposedly luxury property, this response time is beyond disappointing. Unfortunately, the problems didn’t stop there. The new room is also full of issues: • The phone doesn’t work, making it difficult to contact anyone. • The curtains cannot be closed, leaving the room exposed to light and eliminating privacy. • We called maintenance over two hours ago, and no one has shown up. At every step there has been poor communication, slow responses, and a clear lack of urgency from staff. When you pay the rates this hotel charges, you expect basic things to work: air conditioning, a functioning phone, operational curtains, and reasonable service times. None of these expectations have been met. So far, this has been one of the most poorly managed luxury hotel experiences I have ever had. The property itself may be beautiful, but service is what defines a true luxury hotel, and in this case it has been completely unacceptable. Extremely disappointing.
