Customer service is alive and well here and the Excellence has it down! My wife and I just had our honeymoon there and couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more. Food was great, and the room was so fantastic that we may even model our new bathroom after this one! But the service was amazing. The staff was so very accommodating and would go out of their way to make sure everyone was having the best experience! Shout outs are warranted to Isabelle at breakfast, a trainee who felt like an old friend by the end of our stay! From Freddy who first took our bags to Maria at the lobster house or Carlos at the french place, they could not have provided a better guest experience and made us feel special the whole week. Well worth the money and we dont even drink! Thank you Excellence Playa Mujeres!

Stayed for 6 nights in mid-January. We previously stayed at the Excellence El Carmen in Dominican Republic and loved that one! This stay at Playa Mujeres was for my daughter's wedding, at the resort, right on the beach, which was absolutely lovely. It was thoughtfully planned, the food was great, mariachi band was Wonderful, as was the DJ afterward. Easily the BEST night of the trip. But, of course we loved our entire stay and even stayed an extra night as we didn't want to leave! The staff were all amazing, friendly, competent, and funny! The shows in the theater each night were also amazing, as was Mexican Fiesta night, and the show on Mexican history. Shoutout to a few staff members who made our time at the pool and restaurants/bars even more enjoyable: Cesar ("give it away, give it away, give it away man") at the martini bar, as well as Juan and Kevin; Roman and Eduardo at the swim-up bar (shots, shots, and more shots); Gustavo, our faithful server at the side pool, and Johnny in The Kitchen for breakfast. Many more whose names we forgot ;-) but they were all Amazing! The cleaning staff for our room was top-notch (7021), thank you! We want to try the new one (Coral) up the beach next! Highly recommend the Excellence brand resorts!
Splurge
I stayed at Excellence Playa Mujeres for a solo birthday trip, and it was an amazing experience overall. I basically lived at the beach every day of my stay, and a huge part of that experience was thanks to the beach concierge team, especially Jesus and Josue. They consistently checked in, helped me get the perfect beach setup every day, and made my birthday feel extra special with their warmth and attention. Their energy and service really stood out and made my stay memorable. Angel also deserves a special mention, he kept bringing me personalized non-alcoholic drinks and remembered exactly what I liked, which made long, relaxing beach days even better. The spa experience was also a highlight; the hydrotherapy and treatments were incredibly relaxing and the perfect birthday reset. The resort itself is beautiful, service is strong, and the atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing getaway. No place is ever completely perfect, but the staff really goes above and beyond to make guests feel taken care of. Overall, I had a wonderful birthday trip and would definitely recommend Excellence Playa Mujeres, whether you’re traveling solo or with company.

Lucy and Sully in the private Excellence Club beach area were amazing. Lucy brought us everything we asked for very quickly and I loved my mojito! Because we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, Sully went the extra mile by being super excited to find us a comfortable place on the beach to sit in the shade. She brought us several sweet surprises, including this cute monkey coconut strawberry daiquiri drink and she even made this sand art on the towel for us! We had so much fun and felt like royalty! Thank you for making our anniversary even more special!

We stayed at Excellence Playa Mujeres for 5 nights. The service from the moment we landed on the property was excellent. Everyone from the front desk to guest services to room service and wait staff did their job with a smile and were extremely prompt and courteous. They had coordinated with our transfer company to ensure a smooth drop-off and pickup from the airport. Our Junior suite was clean and well equipped and we enjoyed the balcony thoroughly. The food was for the most part average to slightly above average, we felt it was consistently under seasoned likely to appeal to a more universal palette. We felt the Lobster House and the buffet were our favorites amongst the restaurants. The hotel was also extremely helpful in guiding our excursions during this trip and made every excursion very smooth. Our only major complaint was the fact that it took significant time for the food to come out at sit down restaurants: 45 min-1hr almost every time. This meant we had to show up at the restaurant quite a bit ahead of when we wanted to eat which took some getting used to. We also got a massage at the spa which was excellent and enjoyed sitting on the pristine beach. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the service and experience here and would definitely come back.
