I stayed at Excellence Playa Mujeres for a solo birthday trip, and it was an amazing experience overall. I basically lived at the beach every day of my stay, and a huge part of that experience was thanks to the beach concierge team, especially Jesus and Josue. They consistently checked in, helped me get the perfect beach setup every day, and made my birthday feel extra special with their warmth and attention. Their energy and service really stood out and made my stay memorable. Angel also deserves a special mention, he kept bringing me personalized non-alcoholic drinks and remembered exactly what I liked, which made long, relaxing beach days even better. The spa experience was also a highlight; the hydrotherapy and treatments were incredibly relaxing and the perfect birthday reset. The resort itself is beautiful, service is strong, and the atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing getaway. No place is ever completely perfect, but the staff really goes above and beyond to make guests feel taken care of. Overall, I had a wonderful birthday trip and would definitely recommend Excellence Playa Mujeres, whether you’re traveling solo or with company.

First let preface by saying I’ve done a lot of traveling all over the world to some exceptional places. This property is very nice. The food was fantastic for an all-inclusive. The drinks were good. The property itself was very clean and well groomed. What really made this experience incredible was the people. The staff was amazing everywhere we went on the property. They all had a smile on their face. I received the same level of service I get at a Four Seasons which is top notch. Sunny, Yessica, Jesus, and Alberto at the Beach Club specifically were outstanding and then some. I like to travel and try different places but this is a must for us to return to. Thanks you!!! You won’t be disappointed with this resort!

We just returned from a week-long stay at this all-inclusive resort and had an incredible experience from start to finish. The beach was absolutely beautiful with soft, white sand and crystal-clear water—exactly what we were hoping for. We loved the perks of the Excellence Club, especially the hydrotherapy session at the spa and the beach concierge service, which truly made the trip feel elevated. Our room was amazing, with a private terrace and stunning views of both the ocean and the pool. We felt completely spoiled and carefree the entire week. The service across the resort was exceptional, and the food at all of the restaurants was consistently delicious. There were so many great options, and every meal exceeded expectations. Huge shoutout to two employees who really went above and beyond. Sully, our beach concierge, went above and beyond every single day - making sure we had fresh towels, snacks, and everything we needed. She even surprised us with a beautiful goodbye sand art, which was such a thoughtful touch. Emiliano, our beach server, was equally fantastic—friendly, fun to chat with, and incredibly attentive. He spoiled us with new drinks he knew we’d love and somehow always appeared with a fresh one just before ours ran low. Overall, this resort delivered top-notch service, comfort, and relaxation. We felt genuinely cared for and can’t wait to return.

Stayed for 6 nights in mid-January. We previously stayed at the Excellence El Carmen in Dominican Republic and loved that one! This stay at Playa Mujeres was for my daughter's wedding, at the resort, right on the beach, which was absolutely lovely. It was thoughtfully planned, the food was great, mariachi band was Wonderful, as was the DJ afterward. Easily the BEST night of the trip. But, of course we loved our entire stay and even stayed an extra night as we didn't want to leave! The staff were all amazing, friendly, competent, and funny! The shows in the theater each night were also amazing, as was Mexican Fiesta night, and the show on Mexican history. Shoutout to a few staff members who made our time at the pool and restaurants/bars even more enjoyable: Cesar ("give it away, give it away, give it away man") at the martini bar, as well as Juan and Kevin; Roman and Eduardo at the swim-up bar (shots, shots, and more shots); Gustavo, our faithful server at the side pool, and Johnny in The Kitchen for breakfast. Many more whose names we forgot ;-) but they were all Amazing! The cleaning staff for our room was top-notch (7021), thank you! We want to try the new one (Coral) up the beach next! Highly recommend the Excellence brand resorts!

This resort is a nice upscale resort. The grounds are impeccable, the rooms feel luxurious, and the staff is very friendly. Our beach club concierge, Suli, went above and beyond to make it a special trip with custom drinks, sand art, and other treats. There are a lot of diverse food options. All of the food is nicely prepared, but it is very plain. It is definitely trying to appeal to everyone’s palates. Even the Mexican restaurant was bland. I think this is pretty typical of all inclusive resorts.
