Essque Zalu Zanzibar isn't just a hotel, it's a picturesque escape. Every corner of the hotel is tastefully designed and blended in well with the nature's setting. From the moment we arrived, we were given a warm 'Zalu' greeting that set the tone for an amazing stay. The service throughout my visit was exceptional. The staff was attentive, proactive, and genuinely seemed to care about making our experience unforgettable. The buffet spread was interesting with a good mix of local food. They went out of their way to cater to our dietary requirements as well.
The rooms were clean, comfortable and cozy. The well kept gardens surrounding our rooms contributed to a truly relaxing atmosphere. Speaking of relaxation, the saltwater pool with the view was pure bliss, and the refreshing cocktails from the bar were the perfect way to unwind. With the kind of view from the jetty restaurant and the path leading to it, one can easily spend all day and night there. The Baraka natural aquarium (where you can swim with turtles) is just 200m away from this place. There are other beaches around as well for which the hotel provides regular shuttles.

Cannot speak highly enough of our stay at Essque Zalu resort. Location is fantastic for a relaxing break, to take walks on the beach, great rooms with stunning views of the ocean and to enjoy the culinary delights of Zanzibar food. The staff is super attentive and special thanks to Suleiman for taking such good care of our family. Also a special mention to the GM, Mr Aditya, who ensured all our needs were taken care of. Will hopefully be back again sometime soon

First of all: we had a great vacation, but it took a bit of flexibility… 😂
We booked a villa at the seafront which was worth the extra money, the atmosphere in the evenings was magnificent.
The hotel itself is a bit rundown, some repairs are certainly overdue. Food is good, but not more. Hard to understand why you can’t get really fresh fish on an island… The staff is very friendly, but would benefit from training (and motivation). The spa is recommendable and the gym a well kept secret 😂

Mr. Adiya, the manager, was particularly outstanding. His attentiveness and dedication to ensuring that our stay was perfect made a significant difference. He went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, making us feel truly special and valued.
The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly when the staff surprised me with a complimentary birthday cake and a heartfelt rendition of "Happy Birthday." Their enthusiasm and genuine joy in celebrating with us created a magical moment that I will cherish forever.
The staff took exceptional care of my 5-year-old, ensuring that she was entertained and comfortable throughout our stay. Their attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile with room service and food was remarkable. Every meal was a delight, showcasing the culinary excellence and variety that Essque Zalu Zanzibar is known for.
The luxurious experience offered by the resort is worthy of a queen. From the beautifully appointed rooms to the breathtaking views and top-notch amenities, every aspect of our stay was meticulously crafted for comfort and indulgence.
Would I return to Essque Zalu Zanzibar? Absolutely, without a second thought. It was a birthday celebration to remember, and I look forward to creating more memories at this beautiful destination.
