Our family of 4 have loved our time at The Fives hotel celebrating our son’s 21st birthday - everything has been perfect. Staff at the hotel are so helpful and can’t do enough to ensure that everyone is having a great time and is being well looked after. The pool activities have been great - Daniela, Cam & Eddie were great fun and had everyone laughing in and around the pool. The evening entertainment has been great and very varied, my daughter and I loved the Disney themed night! My son and husband spent many an hour each day at the swim up bar at the Lizzards pool! All the bar staff were great, Geramias, Jorge & Noe were really friendly and fun to chat to. Our favourite restaurant was the Koh Tai although all eateries were superb with lots of choices available. Our accommodation was great and the location of our apartment was ideal - we stayed in villa 8 over looking the pool, just perfect! We’re very sad to be leaving and will definitely be back soon!

We have enjoyed many stays at The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences, this stay was no exception. The food is reliably excellent and the staff is great. We love to alternate our time between a bali bed at the beach or days by one of the quieter pools. There's lots of activities day and night for those who like to be busy. We like to relax and be waited on. We can walk anywhere in a few minutes and especially enjoy the gorgeous landscaping. Some prefer to get a ride. We feel lucky to get assigned to Angel & Janet, Jeff or Gabriel as our ambassador. We have come often enough to have favorite waiters at the restaurants: Paola, Litzy, Hermes are just a few. Treat yourself to a romantic beach dinner with Jimmy and Jorge serving you. It's a beautiful setting and fantastic food. You can tell why we come back several times throughout the year with family and friends. It's the people at The Fives who make our stay special.

Exceptional ambassador service From the moment we arrived, Daniel (our Ambassador) and his counterpart Diana set the tone for an outstanding stay. They were warm, caring, and truly empathetic to our needs, making everything from small requests to daily planning feel effortless. Kids club that made our trip The Kids Club team – Laura, Karla, Mariana, and Caro – absolutely made this vacation for our family. Our 6‑year‑old couldn’t wait to see them each day, and came back from every session full of stories, activities, and adventures that were fun, safe, and thoughtfully organized. Unforgettable spa experience A special mention to Georgina at the spa, who gave one of the best massages ever experienced at any resort. The spa ambiance, her professionalism, and her attention to detail turned it into a deeply relaxing and rejuvenating highlight of the trip. Perfect family resort vibes The overall atmosphere at The Fives is incredibly family‑friendly, with beautiful grounds, great pools, and plenty to enjoy for both adults and kids. Thanks to the amazing staff mentioned above, this stay went from a good vacation to an unforgettable one, and this hotel is now a top recommendation for families visiting the Riviera Maya.

My wife and I had the most amazing experience having dinner at Sea Olive/Arrezo during our 10 day stay at the Fives beach resort and residences. We had the privilege of having Armenta as our waiter, he was extremely friendly and attentive to us and did everything he could to make our experience memorable. He took the time to chat with us, we could have talked for hours. I had ordered the Tomahawk steak, medium rare, cooked perfectly. My wife had the Fettuccine Alfredo and added the stuffed chicken breast which Almenta was happy to do for her. During our meal Almenta had the Chef come table side to ask how everything was. My wife and I had nothing but high remarks and told him that they take a lot of pride at their profession and it shows in the quality of food and phenomenal service. We had chosen before this evening to end our vacation back at Sea Olive and are hoping to have Armenta as our server to end our vacation to Playa Del Carmen. It was an absolute joy and look forward to another great meal.

** 100% NOT a 5 star resort** Checked in for our honeymoon and so far it’s been quite the shambles. First of all as we are also here with some family members their rooms all had the nice honeymoon banners but ours didn’t despite being the newlyweds. Also our room was just not 5* standard at all 3 star at best. It smelt musty and damp with things broken, signs of mould on the ceilings. After asking at reception for a possible room change we got given one but it’s barely any better and still has a damp musky smell with broken things, rust and ants too. After asking for a different room again they initially tried to ‘upgrade’ us to a suite for 80USD a night and this was supposedly very generous as it’s 50% off their regular charge. After declining and stating we have already paid for 2 weeks and all I want is a clean room that doesn’t smell and isn’t in disrepair. The best they can do is offer to ‘upgrade’ us yet again to the penthouse but at 100USD a night which is 70% off. At that point I was just gobsmacked that essentially all they’ve done is tried to upsell again and try and gain more money out of something that is essentially due to their own incompetency and error. They have promised a ‘deep clean’ of the room and sending a complimentary bottle of wine. But it doesn’t make up for anything and I don’t know why they think we will be happy with ‘free’ wine at an all inclusive?!? Please think twice before booking.
