You haven't seen true luxury until you've visited Emirates Palace. We dropped by for a visit and were completely blown away. The attention to detail is insane—gold leaf ceilings, massive crystal chandeliers, and fountains that look like art. It feels incredibly exclusive, yet they are welcoming to visitors who just want to admire the beauty. It is a feast for the eyes and a perfect spot for photos. Definitely a highlight of our Abu Dhabi trip. You feel like royalty just walking down the hallways!

Words cannot describe how wonderful our stay and experience has been at The Palace. On day 1 we were greeted to a delicious afternoon tea. Dino, our wonderful host at Ep1sodes brought so much passion, kindness and energy, making the entire experience so special and memorable. Absolutely amazing! A must for anyone visiting Abu Dhabi in the UAE.

We were so excited for this Mandarin Oriental after all the reviews - but unfortunately it just didn’t live up to them for us. We choose Mandarin Oriental for top notch service and a generally more calm vibe. This was far from that. The good: - Rooms are comfy and beautifully designed (if clearly once a Kempinski - bathrooms small etc.) - The property is a great choice if you want a resort feel without being on Saadiyat. It’s huge with beautiful, endless grounds and a unique “private” (apparently you can buy day passes?!) beach. You never need to leave. - The restaurants were all top notch (but also all in the public areas) - we tried the Indian, the Japanese and the Mexican and all were great. And that is where it ends: - First impression was a zoo - the main entrance is a tourist attraction and was rammed with people shooting TikTok dances etc. - We waited at reception in a queue for 15mins for check in with no acknowledgement - We had to beg for service in the kids pool restaurant and ask 3 times to be found sunbeds - Rooms were not made up at 5:30pm despite being out all day. And amenities were added randomly - beach bag on the last day. - Other niggles like you have to pay for the kids club if you want to drop them. In the end the property seems simply too large for them to maintain the quality and service you expect from the brand - this means there is often trash or broken areas which doesn’t add to the appeal. They mentioned they can host something like 15 weddings at the same time… But what was most disappointing was we told the hotel of these issues on the last night on their WhatsApp and received absolutely no acknowledgement - not even a “sorry - we expect better”… it just shows to me that this property simply doesn’t care. This is not a Mandarin Oriental as I know it - it’s a Mandarin Oriental Disney World. Make sure that’s what you are looking for!

Beautiful property, but I don't think it's worth returning if the service remains like this. First, the good things: stunningly luxurious and beautiful property that's well-maintained. Long walks even just to get to the rooms because it's so massive (I enjoyed the walks). Room service and restaurant staff were all very friendly and courteous. And plenty of restaurants to choose from. However, I had some no-no service experience with them: 1) Reservations clearly didn't talk to front desk because they had no idea about our special occasion and got our names mixed up, even after seeing our passports. 2) No hair dryer in the room, asked twice via WhatsApp (operator never answered my phone calls) but never got it. 3) Asked to call a cab upon check out. Waited for 30 minutes with no updates; just left us sitting in the lobby. I suspect they never called because it took me two minutes to get picked up when I ended up calling a cab myself. Asking for a hair dryer and a cab are pretty standard requests and aren't even stress tests for service. Perhaps I was just unlucky and ran into staff who had a long day or didn't care. Shocked a five star couldn't handle this.

Having read so much about the Emirates Palace, I had high expectations visiting this hotel. However I was left disappointed. First, yes it certainly looks grand from afar. But once you step in and look closer, you’d realize this is nothing like a luxury hotel. Everything feels worn out and in dire need of a refresh. Many parts of the property are closed or vacant, making it feel more like an abandoned hotel. Second, I’m not sure why anyone would stay at this hotel. It feels more like a theme park, with throngs of visitors walking around, taking photos. If you’re staying here, you may feel more like a zoo exhibit. It’s certainly not the intimate exclusivity one would expect from a Mandarin Oriental hotel. Last, service is atrocious. I patiently waited 10 minutes to be served at the lobby lounge, Episodes. At least 6 servers saw me waiting but ignored me. In the end, I just walked away. I’m sure everyone would want to come visit the Emirates Palace. But I would recommend that you just walk in to view the grounds, and not bother staying or dining here because it’s not worth it.
