How do you describe perfection? We booked a Junior Suite at the beginning of May and arrived at Elounda Gulf Suites — only to discover we’d been upgraded to a stunning private villa with our own pool! The resort is beautifully designed to blend with the sea views. There’s a private beach with a shuttle and bar, a gorgeous infinity pool, and a rich, delicious breakfast. The villa was luxurious and completely private — but the real highlight was the service. Danny, Konstantin, and George made us feel truly cared for, with warmth and attention to every detail — and the entire staff was just as wonderful. The village of Elounda is nice but not particularly exciting — luckily, there are charming villages and great tavernas just a short drive away. Elounda Gulf Suites is a dream getaway. 5 stars just aren’t enough 🙂

Rooms looked great in the photos but in real life they are a bit dated. We got "upgraded" to a villa that didn't have any views or charm. In general - suites and the villas are wildly overpriced 30-50% off they would be at a fair value.

The hotel rooms and pool are pretty nice(although the tub takes almost an hour to fill), mixed with some extremely bad service. We are actually currently staying here, and have been in Greece traveling the past month staying at other 5 star hotels along our journey. Before I speak of why I wouldn't stay here again due to service , let me do say that there are three amazing stand out employees, Our server (at dinner last night and in the day during pool bar service (both males)). George our driver was by far the best most attentive employee and any property would be lucky to have him. Thank you George! However, the worst service is the lady at the pool service is very off-putting and comes across as rude for the simplest requests like politely asking for towels or a food menu. Service is very slow and unprofessional for a five star hotel for the majority of the workers minus the ones mentioned that we've been in contact with. Front desk attendant told us at checkin one of the members of our party couldn't take her champagne to her room and to use the bathroom in the lobby. The next day, another front desk receptionist told some ladies of the party there is no bathroom. Consistency here is not close to other 5 star hotels stay elsewhere until customer service has been addressed. NOT IMPRESSED - Very overpriced for what you don't receiveat this property.

Nice hotel, quiet and peaceful. Rooms were great and breakfast buffet was very nice. The pool service and evening restaurant were quite limited but guess it is the compromise of a smaller hotel.

The good Staff were all super friendly, breakfast was great with good variety and I always appreciate a breakfast with smoked/cured salmon and option to order a double espresso to start the morning. I felt that all the public areas felt fresh and it looked very sleek. Helpful with the luggages being golf cart driven at check in and check out, although needed for the hillside villa layout. The poor The parking lot is towards the top of the facilities so every morning going to the car felt like a trekk in the heat as the villas are on a hill. Not a problem if you stay in the resort but we didnt. Saltwater pool, would have preferred chlorinated. Size was otherwhise great with good views. Staff meeting where the general manager feed back to staff should really be held somewhere where guests cant hear this. Two consecutive days there were feedback commentary after breakfast at the restaurant and close to where we still sat. Not appropriate for a 5 star. The bad Whilst the room were spacious and felt decadent, our room (nemesis) was clearly not well maintained for a 5 star. Lots of paint splashes at the edges of the walk in wardrobe and bathroom made it feel less than fresh. No issues with the bed room or living room but its these details that made it feel less decadent. The whole room also felt like it had a layer of dust when we got in so the slippers helped but again such details shouldnt have been felt. The worse culprit was the middle of the bathroom which had marble tiles that clearly had been worne off, so that the underlying food or flooring was exposed with whatever glue or fixing that were being chipped off everytime we walked over it or even cleaners clean it. Not impressed by that and that room and area really needs to be looked over. High expectations for a 5 star but some serious letdown of the given room, and some really well executed areas.
