We had a really good time here. We did absolutely nothing but just hung around the resort (drove concierges crazy). We needed to really unwind. There were enough places to hang out at that it worked. Our pool outside our room was always a great temperature - some of the pools were so hot, it was uncomfortably- we liked our pool. The beaches were not at all possible for swimming or anything either the seaweed (so stinky) and the big concrete blocks in the ocean - which was sad because we really like swimming in the ocean. The food was fantastic!! We were very impressed The martini bar was very impressive also - full range of high quality beverages. The servers and staff were TOP NOTCH!!! The place is very clean and staff are always working to keep it this way. Remember that all gifts come with a cost … keep this in mind if you don’t want to become a “member” (time share in disguise). All in all a perfect get away for us. We were treated very well

My husband and I just returned from our biannual trip. We love going to this resort. Staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. If we ever have problems they are quick to fix the situation. We are exotic members and until recently have been very happy. The management company and Lomas split and since(about 2 years) communications and issues are frequent. This in no way has effected the line staff and how they treat us. If it weren't for our butlers, concierge waitstaff and bartenders we may not continue to go. Food is always amazing. Rooms are nice and clean but could use some updating(they have recently renovated some but not where we stay as members) I would recommend staying here, but do not become a member until upper management and management gets it together and starts listening to the people that matter.

The hotel was beautiful, well maintained, staff were fantastic - so helpful and kind. Beautiful grounds, lots of great bars and a la carte and buffet restaurants with really good food for the most part. Rooms were clean and well maintained. Nice easy walk around the majority of the resort but also lots of golf cart transportation for those moments when you don't want to walk. Two major let-downs were: 1) that we could not go in the ocean as the beach was too rocky/full of coral at the water's edge; 2) mixed drinks, while good, were not great because the hotel uses mixes for the blended drinks instead of fresh fruit like bananas or mangos. There was good access to some premium liquors and the pools were clean, well maintained, and there were some that were quieter while others were more festive with activities.

The property is beautiful but way too big, I mean we had to walk a couple of times to the other side to meet up with people and it was a 15-20 minute walk. There is golf cart transportation if you want to wait for it that will take you anywhere on the property. The food in the restaurants is top notch as is the service, if you are a drinker, all of the liquor is top shelf. When I checked in we were brought to a third floor room and there was no elevator, I explained that my wife had a bad knee and could not navigate this amount of steps every day could we have a first floor room or one with elevator access? They did get us a first floor room but charged me an extra $120.00/day for it. Everything is very nice except the beach. The beach here is terrible and not safe to go in the water. You need to go about 20 minutes away for a nice beach. I personally prefer a smaller property. If you are looking for a first class property that you don't want to leave and don't really care bout the beach, this is for you.

We stayed at the Dorado Royale for the first time and absolutely loved everything about it. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel very welcome. The food was absolutely fantastic - in every single restaurant (they have more than 10 speciality restaurants and bars and we tried as many as possible :) And the service was outstanding—everyone was so friendly and attentive. We really appreciated that there were lots of fun activities and entertainment options, but no pressure to join—everything was relaxed and easygoing. We joined a few games and events when we felt like it, and it was a great way to mix things up. We took part in two excursions, both really well organized and great. We also had the candle light dinner at the beach, which was fantastic. The resort offers three different parts - two for adults only (Dorado Casitas and Dorado Royale), and one for families (Generations). We stayed at the Dorado Royale. The whole resort is just beautiful—like a paradise. And everything was spotless and well-maintained. We usually don’t go back to the same place twice, but this time we’re seriously considering it!
