Our stay at El Dorado Royale was amazing. The staff was so great and friendly. We especially loved Noe at Cocotal and the pizza spot by the pool. He was the best. The resort was beautiful and our room was very clean. We spent our honeymoon here & it was the perfect mixture of relaxing and fun! Plenty of things to do if weather permits. We are hoping to be back soon in the future!

Breakfast at Cocotal is lovely. This place is an elevated buffet with many options for all, and plenty of space to move about. Authentic fresh tacos, fresh omelets and a variety of many other foods and treats are available. Victor, our waiter of many years, is an absolute joy when we arrive. He knows what drinks we order, and almost has it at our table before sitting. He is our favorite waiter for breakfast and lunch as he is detailed and so friendly. Thank you to Victor for always making our meals special. 13 years he has served us well and we look forward to many more!

A lovely resort hotel with beautiful gardens which were immaculately maintained. Plenty of space to escape the crowds and a pleasing variety of restauants to sample. Externally the buildings appeared well maintained. However the bedrooms were very dated, furniture was old, lighting could have been brighter. Many of the sun loungers on the beach were also old and uncomfortable. Staff were generally courteous, cheerful and helpful. Check in was very slow and we were not given a full explanation of what facilities we were able to use or areas that were off limits. For example we only discovered during our stay at Dorado Royale that certain loungers and pools such as those near the Casitas were not supposed to be used. This was not explained at check in nor on the maps. Navigation of the resort could have been made easier if restaurants and bars had signs identifying their names. Similarly a lable on each of the desks in the main lobby describing the role each had would make finding the right person to speak to easier. Attention to customer's potential food allergies was admirable however exceedingly repetitive. As all evening meals had to be prebooked and reservation details were held at the restauant surely it would simpler if the question relating to allergies was asked by the concierge, recorded and notified to the restaurant along with the booking information.

the experience in el dorado is special. Beautiful facility, good food and drinks. But the jewel of this place is its people. The people make this place. They are warm, caring, want us to have a good time. I’m especially thankful to our waiters Eleazer, Antonio Ku, don Victor, the young man named Francisco, Mauricio and Roberto. Always attentive, always smiling and always just so welcoming. So happy to continue seeing them as we come back.
