Never the person to write a review, especially a negative one however our experience at Dukes this year has been nothing short of disappointing… Arrived at 7am, completely understand our room was not ready for this time; no issue with this. Went to the beach to start our holiday, soon needed a drink after being in 35 degree heat… asked the security, life guards and even the gardeners if we can get any water to which we were told ‘no not until Ula opens at 12’… Went to reception to complain and was told we can use the water from our room, we don’t have a room… Partner went to buy a bottle of water from the mall and was told by security at the pool outside beverages weren’t allowed… The next day we find out breakfast wasn’t open at the hotel and we were to walk to a separate hotel, only a 5 minute walk but the principal of having these unexpected situations dropped on you once you’ve paid the money is unacceptable. The hotel bar in the evening was closed, forcing you to go to the recommended Sports bar around the corner, which we went to and then was told it’s a 150 minimum spend. So you can’t get a simple can of pop in the hotel and if you did want one you need to spend a minimum of 150aed. It feels almost as if you’re not wanted at the hotel, the staff were nice but nothing like previous years, the breakfast was also nice but again the general service standard has dropped massively. Not to mention the ludicrous prices of food and drink by the pool/beach, the good value of the hotel becomes irrelevant when a can of pop is £7 each! A salad, a gyros and a drink coming to £77 is crazy! Definitely won’t be coming back!

Gorgeous hotel, smells amazing! Service is outstanding and thanks to Stephanie at the reception our stay was exceptional. I was celebrating my birthday with my boys, they even sent me a celebration dessert to my room. All really great. The pool is heated and you can swim until late. The beach is very clean and calm, also the service on the beach is great. Rooms are very spacious, we had 2 balconies. If you cross the street you will find the mall.

Alondra and Ramesh provided truly amazing service — they were attentive, professional, and always ready to help. Thanks to them, everything ran smoothly and stress-free throughout the week. Our guests were very happy with their stay and shared great feedback about the rooms, stunning views, quality of the food, and overall service. The hotel created a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere that was perfect for both work and relaxation. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and are already looking forward to coming back again next year. Our stay at Dukes The Palm was truly wonderful—warm, welcoming, and memorable from start to finish. What made the experience exceptional was the outstanding staff service. Every team member went out of their way to ensure we felt valued, but a special thank you must go to Jane on Reception, and to Gayatri, Ika, and Jayson in the Executive Lounge. Their professionalism, warmth, and genuine care elevated our stay beyond expectations. The Executive Lounge was a particular highlight. It provided a calm, refined escape from the busier dining areas, with a relaxed atmosphere that made meal times feel special. The pastries were absolutely delicious—far superior to the main buffet options—and it was lovely to enjoy excellent coffee there as part of the Executive Lounge package. The spa treatments were excellent and very reasonably priced. While the spa itself isn’t a large standalone venue, the quality of the treatments and the professionalism of the therapists made it a lovely and worthwhile experience. We also thoroughly enjoyed the private beach and pool facilities. The team at Ula restaurant and the beach bar were incredibly friendly and attentive, always ready with a smile and happy to help. Their service added enormously to the relaxed and luxurious feel of the stay. A tip for future guests: tip the staff well, and you’ll experience an even higher level of personalised service—they truly deserve it.
