Overall, my stay was okay. We had a swim-up room, which was spacious and clean, and the pools were well maintained. The nature around the resort was beautiful, and the customer service was very good. My favorite part of the trip was the spa—it was excellent. The entertainment team also did a great job. On the downside, the food was disappointing. Not all of the restaurants that are advertised were actually open during our stay. We really wanted to try El Patio, the Mexican restaurant, but it was only open one day, so we didn’t get the chance to experience it. Room service was also a letdown—the menu had very limited options and it took about an hour for food to arrive. Another negative was the $200 “incentive” offer to attend a so-called breakfast presentation, which turned out to be a 3-hour timeshare sales pitch. I would strongly recommend avoiding that. I’ve stayed at many all-inclusive resorts, and unfortunately, this one was my least favorite. Because of the food, lack of consistent restaurant availability, and poor room service, I can only give this resort 3 stars.

This is my 29th trip, and it’s the first time I’ve ever stayed at such a disappointing hotel. The service is terrible, the staff are not friendly or welcoming, and there is no variety in the food. The cleanliness is poor, and the employees are not helpful at all. On top of that, there are no activities offered — it’s impossible to have fun or relax properly. Honestly, I do not recommend this hotel at all. There are much better options in Mexico for the same price, or even cheaper.

Disappointing Stay Despite Great Entertainment I stayed at Dreams Tulum from June 26 to today in an ocean view room, visiting with a large group for a wedding. The highlight of our stay was definitely the entertainment team, they did a fantastic job keeping everyone engaged and having fun. The spa was also a nice experience and worth mentioning. My wedding planner also was great. Unfortunately, the overall hotel maintenance and service left a lot to be desired. The cleanliness of the rooms wasn’t good, garbage often wasn’t taken out, and fresh towels weren’t replaced unless we asked. Many in our group had issues like broken phones, safes that didn’t work (in my case, this was constant), and even air conditioning that was out for an entire night in one room. The food was very disappointing, especially for the wedding dinner. We select meat for main meal, but everything was so overcooked that people couldn’t even chew it. Although the resort advertises eight restaurants, they close two every night for “maintenance,” and the sushi spot only opens once a week for just 16 guests. This created long waits sometimes up to three hours, just to get a table at the remaining restaurants. The buffet was okay but nothing special, and the overall food quality did not match the price we paid for the stay. The staff in general were friendly, but the restaurant hostesses were not the most welcoming. Also, be aware that the prices at the on-site pharmacy were shockingly high. Overall, while the entertainment and spa were nice, I can’t recommend Dreams Tulum. The hotel needs to improve its basic service, room maintenance, and dining options if they want to meet guests’ expectations for what they charge

Just got back from Dreams Tulum Resort. While staff were friendly and the drinks were great, our overall experience was disappointing. The biggest issue? BUGS. Every. Single. Day. Our room had new visitors: Day 1: Mosquitoes everywhere. Day 2: Huge spider crawling on our shoes (plus more mosquitoes). Day 3: Centipedes. Day 4: More mosquitoes. Day 5: More centipedes… and yes, more mosquitoes. Day 6: More spiders and—you guessed it—mosquitoes. Day 7: Mosquitoes again. We told management multiple times. Nothing was ever done. Waking up to bugs in and on your bed is not how you want to spend vacation. Other problems: Toilet barely worked all week. Maintenance came twice, still broken. We gave up. Food was disappointing. For breakfast, only one place (World Café buffet) was open, and the food was cold, bland, or clearly sitting out too long. By the end, we only ate eggs and hash browns. Lunch was limited to 2–3 spots, with the buffet again being the weakest. Thankfully, dinner restaurants were much better. Communication was tough. Many staff only spoke Spanish or had very strong accents, which made it hard to explain issues. Slippery floors around the property. I actually fell once—and no, I wasn’t drunk. Just dangerous upkeep. Even amenities like the outdoor chess/checker set couldn’t be enjoyed because the mosquitoes were unbearable. Positives: Drinks were excellent, bartenders worked hard, and dinner restaurants were tasty. But overall? If you want an all-inclusive where you can relax without battling bugs in your room, broken toilets, and unsafe walkways—this isn’t it. Staff were kind, but the resort itself needs serious improvements.

Dreams Tulum was an overall spectacular experience, the staff was a 10/10. Edwin at the bar, Reyes at the pool and Saturnino were exceptional. Very kind people and amazing service. The hotel itself is gorgeous and the food is amazing. I recommend the chicken consommé. Thank you so much, such a fun time!
