I would love to give this resort a 10 but I cant. On July 17,2024 my family and I stayed at Dreams Sands Cancun. I reserved 3 honeymoon suites (not cheap) for 3 nights/4 days with Preferred Club. We had room numbers 123, 124 and 125. I must say that the rooms were gorgeous. Very spacious, your own small pool and lounge bed on the balcony. Very nice.
But when we first got to the room the maintenance worker was trying to fix the toilet from the previous occupants. He said it was fixed and left. I used the toilet an hour later and he certainly didn't fix the problem. So eventually maintenance came back and finally solved the problem. There is a somewhat of a sulfur odor in the room at all times. Thats why they put incense in the rooms. Use them!!!
Now, our biggest problem was the noise at night. No one told me that the hotel staff uses the hallway right outside our rooms because there is a kitchen door there. Tremendous noise from evening till 1230am (night staff finishing up) and noise restarted at 5am (day staff starting). Banging carts, talking loudly, just crazy loud. No one in my family slept well at our time at this resort.
After the 1st night I did tell a person at the Preferred Club desk to see if anything that they could do. She said she could send a memo to the staff....unfortunately it didn't help.
All in all the resort is very nice looking and the hotel staff works hard. I would NEVER again stay in the honeymoon suites because of the tremendous amount of noise especially at that price. I would certainly consider other resorts in that area.

The staff at this hotel goes over and beyond to make you feel welcome. The servers at the World Cafe names Cesar and Noe were amazing, very attentive to our needs. The entertainment was spectacular, The young lady by the name of Melissa was excellent very enthusiastic about her job as well as making all of us feel at home. The breakfast staff at the world Cafe deserves recognition in the excellent work they do.

Dreams sands is a mediocre family resort. To be an all-inclusive resort there was barely entertainment for the kids & absolutely none for the adults. You must pay for the beach jet skis & paddle boats, you have to pay for the live shows & there are young children in the “Adult only” pool throwing up & splashing around. Absolutely no bar had any top shelf alcohol & the basic alcohol including champagne or wine was very watered down, the food was a VERY small selection & nasty at the buffet besides the breakfast omelet station & the hibachi restaurant at night. The rooms are terrible. They have a smell, beds are HARD, & are very hot. The overall staff was great & the beach is the cleanest that I’ve seen at any resort but if you are looking for entertainment & top quality all inclusive enjoyment then this resort is not a good option, it’s a decent last minute get away trip!

Great customer service/Poor rooms
The staff was great They get 10 stars . The food was good. Nothing exceptional but you can always find something to eat! The pools were not overcrowded but they need some TLC My only complaint was our room. AC didn't work in the first room. Room had a strong mold smell to it. Staff took care of us and gave us a different room

Only giving one star because the water on the beach was so clear and pretty!
The only good food option was the hibachi restaurant.
The buffet was absolute trash and the so-called preferred lounge food was even worse (see picture of what they were calling eggs).
Do not be fooled by the 5 star ratings!!!!! You are paying for an all inclusive resort but the food that's included is not good! It's a waste of your money!!
And if you're a black person staying on this resort, be prepared for the racism. They continuously asked us were we preferred members each and every time we went to the preferred bar. And they were NOT asking other people! We were there for 6 days!!!! And they asked every single time we got a drink at the bar which was sometimes 5-6 times. And yes it was the same person asking us and not asking anyone else! Choose a better resort!!
