Maybe my expectations were too high for this resort. I brought my mother and son to Cancun last year Christmas and we stayed at a RIU resort, which was absolutely amazing. Dreams Riviera was the complete opposite. Very small resort, other than the Japanese and Italian resort, food options were horrible. We ordered room service majority of the time which always seemed if was old and had been sitting there for a while. The room setup is nice but very much out dated. The overall cleanliness was horrible. Food and glasses would be left in the same place for well over 24 hours. While sitting in the jacuzzi another guest and myself watched someone working at the resort come grab glasses but emptied them out right in front of us on the ground by jacuzzi. The price didn’t match the quality of anything. They wanted you to pay an “exclusive” dinner and entertainment of $100 per person for Christmas while other guests received nothing special. Staff wasn’t that friendly. No lifeguards for the pools. Overall a horrible experience especially for the price

Some of the staff are great! There were three in particular that made our stay wonderful. However, there were some that just made me want to leave at that exact moment.
The food at the buffet isn’t great. Our first night there, a roach was cruising by us as we were eating and insects were found in our food. We went to have a conversation at the lobby (which during our 6 day stay, there was no supervision/ manager). They said what would you like me to do, as in trying to get us out of the way.
There was one specific person that was so rude, and he works for the spa. The rest of the people in the spa are amazing, but this one person needs to be coached on customer service.
The beach was warm but so many jellyfish. You’re able to see that the other resort right by it has some type of restriction / net that could possible be for this. We had to walk across the hotel after being zapped by a jelly fish since the beach was always without any personnel from the resort itself.
Honestly I would not recommend this place, even though it is not because of most of the staffs fault. Seems that it is just poor management.

My family and I had a wonderful and funfilled time at Dreams. The staff were friendly and always smiling, and their service was top tier. The room service was excellent, and the room was clean and modern. Resort is very beautiful, my daughter enjoyed the main pool, she had so much fun. The food was delicious. We had a wide variety to choose from, I enjoyed the seafood the most because I am a seafood lover. We just got back home, and my daughter is already sad and wants to go back. We will definitely visit again in the future.

This is a beautiful property and not one that overwhelms you. The dining options here offer a variety and they have the guest to restaurant ratio figured out. Often at all-inclusives getting a table can be challenging, but that was not the case here and we really appreciated that. They also have a nice schedule of activities for kids, designed to help traveling families enjoy their time.
The 4 stars is only because of noise at night. They host a lot of parties and weddings near the beach area and the music can be loud late into the night, and can be disruptive to sleep schedules if you’re traveling with little ones.

This Dreams location was selected by a friend for a wedding and I have not one bad thing to say. The service was excellent. I decided on the preferred club and can say it was worth it alone for the lounge access and easy check in.
In the beach club Armando and David always took care of me and made sure I had everything I needed.
In the lounge Blanca and Heriberto were attentive and so fun to interact with!
The food was great and the attention to detail at the wedding was impressive.
I will definitely be back!
