After staying at 3 different RIU properties in the past year, this place is nothing special. We have found the staff not as friendly or communictive as others. The food is ok. The buffet is very small and doesn't offer as much as other resorts we've been to. The pools are ice cold and I have no problem stepping into cool water. Perfect example there's 1 swim up bar and it's empty. For the amount of money to stay here it's definitely not worth it. Yes it's a family resort but there's kids everywhere and only one pool that's adults only. (Again super cold). Rooms are run down and lacking definite repairs and care. There is never any fresh towels available for guests by the pool. All 5 or 6 run down boxes out by the pool were always empty. All the umbrellas in the main pool area are torn up and broken missing metal pins to hold them up. But if you upgraded to the preferred area...$$$. The umbrellas are immaculate. Also watched a staff member go into a room and walk out stacks of fresh towels to the preferred area but non to the other guests. "DREAMS" it is not!

Hotel is very understaffed. There’s next to no music by any of the pools during the day, you bring your own speaker down to play music and get told to turn it off. Advertised the spa and zip line on any holiday ad for the hotel to arrive to find out there’s a weight limit for the zip line so my partner couldn’t use it. And that you get 1 complimentary massage which isn’t even in the spa it self. And treatments are well overpriced at 80-150$ per hour, Wait times for drinks is very poor. With staff ignoring you and not taking your orders. The only thing making this holiday enjoyable is the fact the food is nice. Apart from that. There’s 2-3 weddings everyday which take priority over anyone coming here on a holiday. They block off part of the pools and if you don’t arrive to get beds at 6am you will most likely not get a bed for the whole day. Paying over 5-6000$ for a week here and getting the bare minimum is poor. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone. There isn’t anything near the hotel to walk to and to take trips anywhere will cost you an arm and a leg getting there and back. Being British I find staff treat you differently and half the time will ignore you. The evening entertainment is poor and the music and space in the lobby for entertainment is just poor. Only come here if you want a wedding apart from that it isn’t a holiday destination.

I went to this location in 2022 when it was owed by a different company and it was one of the most amazing places I have ever been. Fast forward to this past week, it was awful. Besides a few of the staff members who were amazing, this place has completely gone downhill and I would never stay again. From check in, not even walking in they start to try and sell you on the time share thing and were so pushy about it to the point where me and my family members were uncomfortable. From the moment I checked in I made sure to ask if we needed reservations due to it being Thanksgiving week and everyone said no. That was a lie, and we were only able to get into the buffet. Everytime I went on the app to try and make a reservation there was nothing available, I even woke up at 5am some days to try and nothing. What’s crazy is that each time I went up to the hostess stands; more then half the tables were empty and I was told they need to be held for the people who had reservations for 30 minutes before they could give it to people on the waitlist. When it came to the pools, due to weddings the infinity pool was closed at 230 and besides that inconvenience, I personally watched the staff members move peoples belongings who had gone down early to save seats for their family members and just let other people sit in them. Yes, it says you shouldn’t go down and hold chairs but they were at full occupancy and didn’t have even half the amount of seating they should have for the amount of guests that were booked. Poor management; poor planning and dining; the food was meh, the drinks were awful and tasted like they were made by a child. I had such high expectations from my visit a few years ago and because of how expensive it was.. and I hate that I will never go back.

Stayed here between October 19 - October 24, 2025 with my parents, husband and 15 month old baby. Room numbers were 2615 & 2614, preferred club status. First off, preferred club status is a joke. Our “exclusive” lounge seemed to just have the opposite rotating food (small selection) than the other restaurants, and the alcohol all seemed watered down. The preferred club pool is also a joke, it’s literally just a roped off section of the main pool, with some daybeds (no canopy/sun coverage). There are Balinese beds throughout the grounds but insanely expensive ~$150 USD to rent for the day. We asked if the price was different in person, and they let us rent it for $75 USD which was still too expensive- but there were high winds on our last day and no one was able to open their umbrellas for shade. With a baby we needed the shade to enjoy our last day at the pool. The preferred club “poolside bar” is literally a bar cart on wheels. During our stay there was a convention which held events every night. I read somewhere the rooms are soundproof, that’s absolutely a lie since I am posting this at 9:28pm being forced to listen to the DJ at the wedding happening by the pool and Sean Paul from the convention center. The employees are trying hard to do their jobs but it doesn’t seem like they are being provided with enough resources to perform top tier. Miguel from entertainment was a delight. Food is not as bad as others have reviewed here, however I also don’t think it’s 4 star worthy. We are adventurist drinkers so we always ask for random cocktail drinks. Bartenders tried really hard to accommodate even if they didn’t have all the ingredients. However, alcohol was definitely nothing top shelf (unless you’re in preferred, but I did hear about how they were watering down shots after 2nd round.) They have a great pool and lots of stuff to do (aside from beach things, as the condition of the beach is totally out of their control). However it’s really disappointing that the kiddie pool’s slides were all being repaired the entire length of our stay so we couldn’t access them at all. I also wish there was some sort of playground for my little one to run around in. App use to order house keeping, mini bar, resos, event info was great for us- BUT the internet here is trash so it was difficult to connect to the app. Spa area is beautiful but so ridiculous that they expect you to pay to use the hydro circuit even if you’re paying for a massage. The room sizes are great but definitely need improvements from the design, furniture to just basic maintainance. Our room might had just hosted a bachelorette party? There were sparkles and glitter everywhere. It almost seemed like house keeping just did a surface clean before we were given keys. I’ve been loyal to the dreams resort chain for the last 5 years, and now I am sure it’s time to move on. There is literally nothing above 3 stars, luxury or “club status” here or frankly at any of the dreams resorts here in Mexico. Definitely no plans to return to any dreams resort.

The hotel staff amazing # 1 what a gem is Magdalena from the lobby bar- she loves her job and daily ensures everyone is having a great time. She will ensure that you're dancing or having your favourite drinks, (names to mention Gabriel Ocono and Miriam from the Restaurante World Cafe- over the moon with service) and went beyond to ensure we were comfortable. The variety of food venues -spectacular, the food was delicious and the servers were truly on-point. The only negative comments - that the room needs more detailed cleaning and there is a moist/moldy scent in some of the guest rooms. Please have the bathroom detailed i.e. soap dish corners of the shower, around the toilet.. I will like to visit again, long as my room don't have that mildew scent as it a happy place to be!
