We just returned from a wonderful vacation here. One of the highlights of our trip was going to the Italian restaurant Portofino and the waiter Yoldi. He made our dinner that evening extra special and it was such a pleasure talking to him and made the experience at the hotel that much better. We also enjoyed Theodore who was very helpful when he greeted us upon arrival and was always there to answer any questions during our trip. Overall, I would recommend going to this hotel.

I recently stayed at Dreams Flora Resort, and while there were many highlights, there were also a few drawbacks that impacted my experience. First off, the resort itself is visually stunning. From the beautiful beaches to the lush, tropical atmosphere, the setting was absolutely gorgeous. I had the chance to try several restaurants during my stay, including the buffet and a steakhouse. On our first night, we chose the buffet, which turned out to be Italian night. The food exceeded expectations—the selection was plentiful, and the dessert bar, in particular, was a standout. Every night offered a different cuisine, which was a fun way to keep things fresh. Breakfast, however, was a bit of a letdown. While I understand the wait due to how busy it was, the quality of the food didn’t match up. The sausage and eggs were either bland or had a strange taste, and most of the other options were underwhelming. That said, for those with a sweet tooth, there were great options like waffles, crepes, and pancakes. Later on, we tried the Sea Side Grill. Some of the Thai dishes and noodle options were delicious, but the pasta dishes, including the mac and cheese, tasted like they came from a pre-packaged box. Still, the service at both restaurants was excellent—attentive, friendly, and professional. We also visited the Coco Café. While the smoothies were more like juice, the coffee was excellent, and there were lots of delicious snack options available. Now, on to the pools and the Preferred Guest experience. As someone who paid extra for a more exclusive, relaxing area, I was disappointed. The “preferred” lounge and pool area was full of screaming and crying children. According to the website, this section was supposed to offer a quieter, more relaxing experience, but that wasn’t the case. I believe there should be an age limit or better enforcement of the rules, especially for places like the hot tub. Instead of enjoying it, it felt more like a kids’ splash zone—with water everywhere, children jumping in, and the water not even being hot anymore. This was honestly the biggest issue of my trip. While I understand families want to bring their children on vacation, paying extra for peace and quiet only to get the opposite was frustrating. It affected multiple parts of my stay. As a Preferred guest, our fridge was restocked daily by housekeeping, which was a nice perk. However, on the private beach, locals would approach trying to sell you things, sometimes even taking pictures of you. I get that they’re trying to make a living, but it was intrusive and uncomfortable at times. Another thing to note: as part of the Preferred package, you’re assigned someone to help explain the resort’s features—but they also try to get you into a presentation where they push for additional purchases or room upgrades. This felt more like a sales pitch than a helpful service. Despite these issues, the staff overall were absolutely fantastic—kind, generous, and always willing to go above and beyond. Their friendliness and effort were truly a highlight of the trip.

We spend wonderful vacation at dreams flora Punta Cana. I loved everything about that place. Service is great. I met lovely staff people and willing to go beyond. Alexandra was one of those people helped us throughout our stay. All waitstaff at italian restaurant was amazing. We can visit again.

A truly and genuinely amazing and relaxing stay at this resort. We stayed for one weekend & would gladly come back to this resort. Rooms: Nice, stylish rooms that look to be recently renovated. Housekeeping did a wonderful job keeping everything tidy and were very quick to fix one issue that we had with a water leak. Comfortable beds, always restocking the fridge if need be. Had a regular two queen bed suite and it was a nicely spaced out room! Hotel: Beautifully maintained and clean hotel grounds, the hotel isn’t massive but feels nicely spaced out and you can easily walk to all sections. Staff: All the staff we interacted with were BEYOND friendly and really helped enhance our stay throughout! Food: Enjoyed the food our entire trip and there wasn’t one thing that I ate that I could complain about! Breakfast buffet had a huge selection (unsure where people’s comments come from about it being a small choice). Eggs made to order in any way you like (loved my morning omelette everyday), and premade eggs in all sorts of choices that you could like, classic breakfast staples and some local options as well. Great fresh fruit, loads of vegetable salads or sides to choose from. We ate most of our dinners at the buffet as well due to wanting to eat quickly with a toddler and again every night was a different theme so you constantly had variety with loads of different meats and seafoods that changed day to day as well as their sides, cold salads and desserts. And if you’re not an adventurous eater there was always really good pizza and pasta you could get to order as well. Lunches either buffet or the beach grill which have your classic lunch options. My husband and I both were confused as to some poor reviews about food… unless you’re picky and eat the same thing daily then yes you’ll get bored or if you happen to get unlucky. But hand on heart we both enjoy many different foods and love to cook ourselves and enjoyed our entire week of eating! and yes if you come at peak times it will be busy.. but that’s something to expect anywhere. At the end of April and going at the start o service around 7:30am and then 6pm we never had issues! Pools: Always felt clean, water was warm and never felt crowded, could party more by the main pool or relax off to the sides. Our toddler loved the little platforms that he could just jump off into the water. Slides were also fun for my husband and lots of kids were always there looking like they had a great time. On the first half of our trip when it was busier sun beds were often reserved by the morning time which I guess has sadly become a standard at most hotels now as it’s so hard to control. But we were early beach goers and afternoon pool hoppers so we never personally had issues. Beach: A nice and sandy beach, with an easy walk in which is great for kids! Most days we had calm water with little seaweed which was perfect for swimming. Two days there was more seaweed in the water but again you can’t control water currents and they were diligently cleaning up what washed up on shore are best they could. Vendors on the beach were respectful, only asked us usually once and accepted a polite no thank you. Is it the most beautiful beach I’ve ever seen, no it’s not. But it is all in all a very nice beach that you can gladly have a beach day at and enjoy it. Bars: Neither of us drank much but they few we did try in mocktail versions were what you would expect! Great passion fruit mojito!! Entertainment: Unfortunately didn’t make it to any shows but at 7pm they always have live music by the lobby bar/buffet and it was always such a treat to listen too! A nice thing to have before later evening shows. Would recommend to anyone for sure! We did not do preferred and didn’t feel like we missed on much or would’ve gotten much extra out of the price difference. Thank you to the Dreams Flora team🤗

Had a great time at this place! Don't listen to the reviews talking about theft. Be smart, use your safe, and tip your room cleaners and you will have no problems. The rooms are small compared to other Dreams properties and not as elegant. The servers and staff were all AMAZING! Irwin was our butler and let me tell you he was on his A game! The food here was so good!!! Will definitely be back to this resort in the future!!!
