Let me start by saying I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but my experience here wasn’t great. I was in town for a wedding at the adults-only resort next door, but accidentally booked the wrong date. I ended up reserving this resort last minute since it was one of the more affordable options nearby. When I arrived, the staff was amazing, super friendly, quick check-in, and they even greeted me with a glass of champagne. That part was a 10/10 experience and gave me a great first impression. Unfortunately, things went downhill after that. Later that evening, most of the dining options were already closed, so I ordered a burger from the only available spot. It turned out to be undercooked, and I didn’t realize it until I was almost done eating. At around 3 a.m., I got sick with mild food poisoning. On top of that, the couch in my room had visible dark stains, which made the place feel less clean. It’s understandable that wear and tear happens, but it definitely took away from the overall experience. The staff truly did their best, but between the food and room condition, I don’t know if I would stay here again.

We are on day two of our week at this resort and are really impressed. A very short ride from the airport and we entered a gorgeous lobby. It was a little chaotic when we arrived (many other arrivals) but we were shown to a beautiful bar area where we sipped as the breeze kept us cool. We were then given vouchers to go have lunch while our rooms were completed. Right away we knew we were about to have an amazing experience food-wise. And the last two days have proved that true - every single meal has been above and beyond. And the best breakfast buffet we have ever experienced. Lots of beautiful pools - really enjoying all the entertainment. The room is obviously newly refurnished and the nicest we have ever stayed at. Every employee goes out of their way to be friendly and fulfill requests quickly. We are here as preferred guests. We met our concierge who shared his whatsapp # so we could reach him quickly. The preferred guests pool, lobby, bars and restaurant are all worth the price. And we are enjoying a 2nd story swim out for the first time and we are addicted to swimming with a view of the whole resort. Love the bottle of local rum in the room. Local music in the evening at the large open air lounge allows for spontaneous dancing. Nitpicks: It would be good if there was a stack of pool towels in a swim out room but we were delivered extra towels when we requested. Beach - so this is not the sandy beach of anyone's dreams. It's rocky and rough when the wind is blowing. But, in our opinion, the resort more than makes up for this. And you can still enjoy a cabana under the sun or watch the stars while listening to the waves. I am working here every morning (wedding magazine editing!) and it has been a breeze. Internet is not a problem even with seriously large file downloads and there are comfy spots outside the room to work as well. Since weddings are my work jam I was happy to see several lovely custom dinner parties under the palms. This resort is the perfect size for a wedding where all your guests could enjoy the experience. We will be returning!

After an awful stay at Ocean Blue Sand, we had no hope from Punta Cana, however Dreams was splendid. The hotel is newly refurbished, quiet and has a good atmosphere to it. It is clean everywhere, has good activities for kids and events in the evenings. The rooms a very good and despite being in the main big block it was quiet. The clients are also way more educated and respectful that the Ocean Blue. The staff are really nice and helpful. The restaurant are great, the steakhouse serves excellent food and the buffet has an excellent choice of food. There is a really nice cafe that is opened all night and it is handy. Everything was great from beginning to the end. I would recommend for a family stay.

The welcome staff was nice upon arrival. Check-in was very easy. The rooms are flawless and resort looks beautiful. However, the beach is a joke! It is a cement parking lot covered with a thin layer of sand unfortunately, and the seaweed covered the waterline making it impossible to enter the water. The smell was also very pungent. As a person who loves the beach I was overwhelmingly disappointed. And there was a construction truck running back and forth making it impossible to relax. I look forward to visiting the beach on vacation and I was only able to spend about 4 minutes there. The food at the buffet is decent but pretty underwhelming, the staff is pretty pleasant. The staff at the pool however seems to have an issue helping people of color. My family and I waited for over 30 minutes for someone to ask us if we needed to be helped, and no staff member ever came to us. Meanwhile others around us were asked if they needed anything repeatedly. All we received were dirty looks! Ultimately we ended up going to the swim-up bar ourselves for our drinks. The best restaurant is the Steakhouse hands down! I personally recommend the beef short ribs, mac and cheese, and the seafood potato. The Italian restaurant staff was very nice but the food was less than mediocre. And the Asian restaurant was always closed. I really wanted to like this resort, I love the room and I felt safe the entire time. I was able to relax and reset. But I wouldn't return unfortunately based on the beach, being discriminated against by the pool staff, and the limited food choices.

Hotel was okay. Food needs Authenticity. Many named Restaurants (Italian, Asian, Mediterranean, Steak House) they all need work. Hyatt needs to invest more in their Edible Experience, it's a huge part of Vacationing for many. The Mesa Buffet, should be open EVERY NIGHT for dinner, patrons deserve to have more options than the mediocre Restaurants. Staff was Good overall. Miguel Tennis and Pickel Ball instructor was AWESOME! Extremely professional, thorough and patient. My husband and I wanted to learn to play PB and we bumped into the perfect instructor, Miguel. You will feel like you've known him forever. He treats you like family. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND! Miguel from Cantena the Caribbean Restaurant was also a pleasure to deal with. Andri (Chocolata) from the main pool as well as the DJ from the main pool were AWESOME. They entertained the crowd day after day, always with a smile on their faces. They were a PLEASURE! Dreams Cap Cana has a very hardworking staff. While everything else was just okay, the staff members we interacted with were AWESOME.
