Disney's All-star Movies Resort

Our recent stay at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort was a special one — we were there to celebrate three birthdays: mine, my mother-in-law’s, and my son’s 2nd birthday. With 19 family members all together, we were hoping for a magical experience — and in many ways, it was. Let’s start with the highlights. The resort itself was beautiful. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the entire property was spotless. Disney’s attention to detail with the movie-themed decor was absolutely incredible. From the giant characters to the themed areas, it truly felt like we were living inside a Disney film. It made our birthday celebrations feel that much more festive and fun, especially for the little ones. However, the biggest disappointment — and it was a major one — was the food. For a Disney resort, we were expecting a much better dining experience. Unfortunately, almost every meal we tried at the resort was a letdown. The only somewhat decent options were the Mickey waffles at breakfast and the chicken strips, but beyond that, everything else was either bland, poorly made, or just not enjoyable. With such a large group, we ended up having to leave the resort for every meal — breakfast, lunch, and dinner — which was inconvenient and not something we expected to do at a Disney property. Compared to our past experiences staying at Universal resorts, the difference was very noticeable. Universal’s food options are not only far superior in taste and variety, but also much more enjoyable overall. It’s disappointing that Disney, known for its world-class experiences, fell short in this area. In summary, while the resort itself delivered on the Disney magic in terms of theming, cleanliness, and overall atmosphere, the food was a major drawback. If Disney could improve the quality of their dining offerings, this resort could be truly outstanding. Until then, just be prepared to plan your meals elsewhere — especially if you're traveling with a big group or celebrating special occasions like we were.

The rooms are clean, comfy and updated. There is separate Murphy bed which becomes a table when upright along with a small "queen" size bed. The shower water pressure is awesome. I wish the inroom fridge still had a freezer but the cooler fridge is nice. A premium room is nice with a short walk to the main hall, bus stops and quick service restaurant. All the staff have been nice and accommodating but at times seem short handed in the restaurant. The staff at times were noticed by the bus stops cheering for guest like they were at a sporting event...nice touch! The arcade and store are very close and are a decent size.

Enjoyed 4 days at ALL-STAR MOVIES and will choose this resort again. Room was clean with plenty of storage space. The toilet and shower are closed off from sink/vanity. Both of those areas can be closed off from the room, which is nice when multiple people are getting ready for a fun-filled magical day. The property was spotless and plenty of seating available at the multiple pools. The food court offered a decision variety of foods as well as plenty of space for families.

This resort was the perfect place to stay before and after our 6-day Disney Cruise. The pools were massive and never felt crowded, and the staff kept the kids entertained with fun poolside activities classic Disney magic that gave us parents some much needed downtime. During our stay, we experienced different rooms in separate buildings, and each one was beautiful. I was genuinely impressed by the design and functionality of the spaces. Walking to the cafeteria was easy, and everything we needed, the main lobby, gift shop, cafeteria, and arcade, was conveniently located in the same central area. While the lobby was smaller than I expected, it was still welcoming and well-organized. One standout moment was when my friend’s luggage was damaged during transit from the Disney Cruise Line shuttle back to the All-Star Music Resort. The resort replaced it with a brand-new suitcase—now that’s top-notch service! Highly recommend this resort—Disney definitely delivered!

Rooms having everything you need but are small. If you have a room for a family of 4 you don’t have any space to put all of your clothes. Great little touches inside the room. Great cleaning services, close to swimming and laundry rooms. Plus uber delivers to the main reception too - great for a quick bite to eat before bed. Plus the restaurant on site has amazing choice but doesn’t change so after two weeks your kind of fed up of eating the same things after trying all the menu.
