Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

We stayed at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort for two nights. The check-in process was fast and smooth, and the staff at the front desk was friendly and helpful. On the downside, the food court experience was disappointing. The service there was not good, and the area also felt somewhat dirty, which was unexpected for a Disney property. Our room, however, was a positive surprise. We were upgraded to a larger room than the standard one, and it was spacious and comfortable. The room was themed after the Disney movie Cars, which was fun and very well done, especially for families. That said, the building itself had a strange odor in the hallways that caught our attention and took away from the overall experience. One major negative point was housekeeping. Our room was not cleaned during our stay, which we found unacceptable, especially considering that this is not a cheap hotel. It’s hard to understand why daily room cleaning is not provided at this price level. On the positive side, the hotel’s location is excellent, very close to the parks, and the bus transportation to and from the parks is very efficient and convenient. Overall, the resort has great theming, good rooms, and an excellent location, but improvements are definitely needed in housekeeping and food court service.

***MOLD*** Cars suite in building 1, 4th floor. We were not in our room often due to staying busy, however every morning when we woke, my daughter and I had itchy/inflamed skin and our entire group had headaches. After a few days we investigated and found black mold in the toilet bowl, toilet tank, and in the grout in the showers. The room had an odd odor the entire stay as well. The rest of our family had Nemo rooms and they had some visible mold as well, but not to the extent of our room. This is unacceptable considering the cost of these reservations. The rooms are also neglected when it comes to cleaning. When looking for mold, a heavy residue and mildew buildup was found on the underside of the shower door handle. The amount of buildup did not happen overnight. I attempted to leave a review on the Art of Animation resort Facebook Page, but it was declined/removed... so keep that in mind when wanting honest reviews. On the flip side, the hotel overall is great when focusing on decor and amenities. Towels and life vests available at pool, several different themed pools, friendly staff, fun activities on site, free and easily accessible transportation to all of the Disney parks, etc. My kids had a blast with all of the themed decor, especially my Lightning McQueen fanatic. ***If you stay here, I would recommend evaluating your room before accepting it and unpacking.

This resort exceeded all of my expectations. This resort is divided into four sections. Cars, finding Nemo, Lion King, and little mermaid. This resort has bus transportation and even better it has access to the skyliner transport system. This made it easy to go anywhere we needed to go. The rooms were themed on the section you were in. We loved the finding Nemo characters design and decorations. Some of our family were in the cars section and it was just as amazing and fun. This resort has a centrally located dining area and a centrally located Disney store. The pools are very large and extremely nice with lots of seating and shade if you want it. A bar is located close to the largest pool. The rooms are large and the bathrooms are well equipped and comfortable to use. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it for others.

It was a phenomenal experience. The attention to details was incredible. I loved everything about this Disney Resort! The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The food was beyond fabulous. It was so good that we got the options to take home with us. The room was beyond gorgeous. My wife had checked and found a junior suite for one night. We loved our time at the Lion King themed rooms!

Probably the most “feels-like-Disney” hotel on the Walt Disneyworld property with the big over the top but gorgeous Disney character statues en theme. Also the rooms are very much Disney themed. Check out the family rooms, they are amazing! This resort really makes you feel that you are still inside the amazing Disney bubble that you never want to leave. And last but not least this is also a skyliner hotel which makes it extra convenient to travel from your hotel to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot.
