This resort was awesome. The food was great! The fun and entertainment was top notch and the atmosphere is unique and special. Not for the faint of heart but a welcoming environment whether you rock a bikini or not! The room was comfortable but small. Some of the nicer rooms are legit tho!

First time visit to Desire. The trip was much better then i would have imagined. The resort is small enough to be cozy and familiar without feeling like you have no privacy. The food is excellent with a variety of options to choose from. My favourite by far was the buffet. As a vegetarian my choices were plentiful. Not to knock the restaurants. Despite not having many vegetarian options on the menu the chef was always eager to create some vegetarian option. The staff at Desire cannot be praised enough. From the person who takes your luggage when arriving, to the front desk staff checking you in , to the activity leaders, servers, spa staff and general laborers. Everyone is polite, friendly, helpful and professional. A shout out to the few staff we got to know , Pina, Bella, Bobbi, Mariane, Leyda, Andrea, Erik, Davis, Luis, Carlos, and my apologies for anyone i've forgotten.

It was such an awesome experience when we went in December so we are headed down again in June. We are especially loved Manuel out at the pool. He was so attentive and really made us feel like we were someone special. I plan on finding him this upcoming trip It’s employees like Manuel that make you wanna come back

There are many positives and negatives about this couples only specialty hotel. I firstly must mention that this is a clothing optional hotel. You can walk around fully nude at all public places except for the restaurants and the lobby. There are lifestyle (swingers) here, curious vanilla couples and everything in between. There is a new Eden section of the hotel with gorgeous updated rooms, a lovely huge hot tub with swim up bar, a huge pool with swim up bar and with very little shade, and two new restaurants. The music at the pool is deafening starting at 11:00 am - 4:00 pm. Many people leave that pool area at lunch time and go to the quiet old pool at this time. And despite numerous complaints by guests - management has done nothing to create a more pleasant environment regarding the noise. You really can’t talk to people during this time which is one of the reasons most people choose this resort - to make new friends. Much of the food at the restaurants is honestly just strange. They have a new mediterranean restaurant by the pool which doesn’t really serve mediterranean food. For example - I ordered a Greek salad (ingredients should be kalamata olives, feta cheese, tomatoes, cucumber and onion with a red wine and olive oil dressing) what came out was a bowl full of lettuce with some cucumber and tomato. It’s not difficult to look up a recipe for Greek salad. I don’t know how they can get things so wrong. What they need is a good traditional Mexican restaurant. That’s what they do best in Mexico! The new Mexican restaurant called Kalo is some sort of Mexican fusion and although tasty - was not Mexican at all to me. It was more like a steak house. The rooms on the older side of the hotel need a serious update. My biggest complaint is the bathrooms. They are tiny and dated - think basic motel bathroom with no counter tops to hold your stuff. I actually bring an over the door shoe organizer and hang it on the door to hold my makeup, sunscreen, hairbrush, toothbrush, etc The new hot tub, though gorgeous and with an amazing view, really needs a roof. It would be great rain and sun cover depending on the weather. The new disco is great and far better than the old one - but the play room area seems to have been designed by someone who has never used one before. There are only about 6 separate beds and the layout doesn’t seem to work well for the number of people who want to use that space. The staff are generally very kind and helpful. It does get a little annoying being asked daily if you want a spa treatment. And there is always a push at the beginning of your stay, by their sales people, to go to their time share like presentation. We always find that one firm “we’re not interested” will pretty much get them to stop asking. But this is just part of the deal when you stay here. There is no possibility of walking anywhere from this property. This is not the type of place most people stay to go sight seeing - you choose this hotel because you want to stay there and take advantage of the social interactions and fun activities on site. All in all we keep vacationing here because of the fun friends we make and the delightful staff.

Outstanding service, good food, well appointed rooms for every budget, excellent entertainment, a host of amenities and extras to choose from, great drinks, and truly beautiful people working here. 99% of the guests are friendly and outgoing. The staff are top notch.
