I have not been to the Delano in years. I was happy that not much had changed. The room was clean, bathroom clean. Plenty of nice and fluffy towels. Friendly staff, easy check out. Nice big room, and it was quiet also.
I will say though the phone as your room key, don't do it. I kept having problems with it and ended up with a physical room key instead.

It was between 5 and 4, but then the price/value made it a 5.
Delano is a nice and pretty hotel. Our room was really nice and spacious. It had a living room that was separated by a door from the bedroom , so while the kids were sleeping, we were able to spend time in the living room. The pool was also nice. The large side of the pool was closed for the winter , but the smaller part that was open was heated and it had a nice spacious jacuzzi.
However, keep in mind that the pool is part of Mandalay Bay. So we had to work through the casino to get there. Delano does not have a separate pool.
What disappointed us the most was the service. It seems like the majority of the staff are just not a 5 star resort staff. Front desk was extremely nice and really great but, a lot of times we were not able to reach them. One time we were on hold for 20 minutes, then the call dropped and we had to wait another 20 minutes just to get something from the front desk. The other time be called for extra betting, waited 30 minutes and I had to come downstairs, requested bedding again and waited again, so it took about 45 minutes to get our stuff. This is not something you usually expect from a 5 star resort. When we arrived, the bell desk appeared to be high and not very interested in seeing us, granted it was midnight but at the same time the expectation was that somebody would be there. Cleaning/mini fridge people kept coming in as they pleased with disregard for the privacy button.
Overall, my impression was that there was a lot of low level staff who was not interested in doing any work and understaffed higher level staff who did not have enough time to fix everything.
Also, we did not find any quality restaurants at the resort. Maybe there were some but nothing that we could have easily located. Most of the food that we saw there was pretty mediocre so we had to step outside to the strip to find good food. It would have been nice to have something directly in the hotel.
Overall, given everything, we still were able to secure really good rates for this hotel. So, with that it ended up being a 5 for us in this situation

The carpet was stained in the room. We didn't want room service the first 2 days, then I called on the third day for service, and room service never came. The casino was too tight couldn't win anything. We've stayed here several times and have always loved it, and what is up with the toilet paper and tissues Really?

Came for a conference and stayed 6 days. Just checked out and will not ever go back. The room I had was a suite - 2 queen beds, living room style area, large bathroom with 2 vanities, separate commode as well as a half bathroom. Very comfortable.
The room hadn't been deep cleaned in a long while -very dusty and the toilet was dirty. Called for housekeeping and they came - made beds, changed towels, but didn't clean the toilet or dust. Picture of toilet isn't showing on this review
The ice machines don't work and they offer to send up ice, but it never came until the 3rd days - and then it was over 2 hour wait. The excuse is that the ice machines are serviced by an outside vendor.
The iron "spit" dark brown junk on a blouse I was ironing - my bad as I should have checked it first. They offered to clean it, but I was leaving the next day. They wouldn't reimburse the cleaning or the value of the blouse because I didn't file a security report and didn't have the receipt for the blouse.
Called the night before check out to insure the bill would be as expected as we were leaving early. Checked out online and the last day was more expensive. Called, and after being on hold for over 5 minutes before getting to speak with someone, was told the extra charges 'must be taxes' . When I got the folio emailed there were restaurant charges that were not mine. They will have the restaurant investigate and get back to me... and then she hung up.

Super clean rooms, bring our kids 2 times a year, we've never had an issue with them saying anything about them "being kids." We've gone into the VIP room, which has free goodies and coffee, water, and alcohol. The lazy river is the best on the strip. But last and foremost, the service of the front desk and housekeeping are hands down the best.
