Just on our last day of our trip and will not be returning. Between having a 2 minute window at 8am to book a decent time if you can even get a time for dining reservations, to hoping you will get a seat by the pool or the beach without having to get up at 6am. Everything has been a wait here starting at check in. We came with a large group of people and asked to have rooms near each other. We were all in opposite corners of the hotel (wasn’t a deal breaker but just a starting frustration). The pools are freezing and hard to stay in for very long. At least one person from our group has been sick every day sometimes 2 or 3 people. The staff is ok, for the most part friendly but nothing above and beyond. Victor down at the beach bar was one guy who stood out. The water slides are fun and everyone had a blast on them. We waited 1.5 hours the one day for the rock climbing and zip lining. It’s an extremely slow process. The resort almost seems like it has more room for guess than the facilities can accommodate. The food at the buffet has been less than impressive, we’re glad we figured out to go to the Italian restaurant for breakfast where you can order eggs and bacon and not have to scrounge through buffet food. We thought we were just getting a good deal on our vacation but it’s definitely reflective of the experience we have had. All that being said the kids have loved it and will remember it forever for being a great time.

Good hotel except for buffet food. Traveled with two children for a week. The good - Hotel size is perfect. Large enough with many areas to walk to for activities but not too large either. I recommend staying in the main building where the reception is. -Many areas for kids: pools, slides, zipline, small movie theater, mini golf, ping pong, evening shows (the Mayan show is a must) -Beach was clean, no seaweed with an outstanding lifeguard who kept everyone safe -There is a magnetic door to access the beach and only adults can open it. Great for kids safety. -The rooms are large and clean with amazing view thanks to the building design in semi- circle with most rooms having a beach view. -There is a convenient store across from the hotel with items to buy for a fraction of the hotel price. -The room access card is embedded in the bracelet, so no more demagnetized or lost keys. To improve -Long lines for everything: *to use the elevator (2/3 were working, not acceptable for high season in December), *to eat at the buffet (by 8h30am, the line is insane), *check in took 1.5 hours (not easy after a long trip) *Not enough pool towels *Waited 1.5h to get extra blankets for the kids *Long wait for drinks. -The buffet food was awful in the afternoon and evening. Not enough selection, food has no taste (and we’re not difficult people). However, there is an option to book for dinners at restaurants (Mexican, Italian, Seafood and Steak), but you need to reserve each morning online at precisely 8:00am. At 8h15, it’s all full. Restaurant food is way better.

This is my third visit to this resort. Last time was 15 years ago and I loved it then. My disappointment is mostly with the front desk. I think the people there are trying, genuinely. But, they are understaffed, their booking system is very slow (they want to help you but the computer won't respond to them), and is unreliable: it seems they have changes in the system and the change does not stick. So, poor management at a high level. Wait time to talk to front desk varies but is usually 45-90 minutes only to find that they just can't accomplish what you need. First room they gave me was occupied by another family. I opened the door to see kids jumping on the beds. A/C not working in second room (instead of making the room unavailable, they gave it to another guest the next day - AC still not working (talked with the guest). Booked 3 adjacent rooms but wound up in 3 rooms on 3 different floors. The showers in the entire building (at least all 3 of our rooms) were not functioning for an entire day. Apart from some obvious maintenance issues (above and in one shower the faucet just falls right off when the wind blows) the rooms are nice. But, the restaurants are ok and the staff throughout the hotel are really nice. The restaurant reservations system is fully booked in literally 3 minutes or less from the time reservations are available. Every chair at the pool and beach is reserved with a towel and a book by 8a - but often not a single body in those seats. Unattended items should be collected and such a warning should be posted prominently. Put your stuff beside the pool or on the beach until your ready to sit in a chair. The mechanical bull has been not functioning for months. 1/3 of the gym equipment is not functioning. Kids slides are really nice and well managed. Lots of pretty women at this resort. That's a plus!

We had such an excellent time. Met a lot of great people. Our bartender Luis at the Adult Pool was great! He had great service and was very friendly. I wasn’t a huge fan of the Buffett food but honestly I never care for the buffets so nothing against the resort. All of the staff we encountered was great. The only issue I had was you couldn’t reach front desk by phone as they didn’t answer.

I just got back from a vacation with my four-year-old daughter. It was just the two of us, it was my daughter’s first all inclusive vacation, and we will not be going back. I read the reviews and went in with an open mind and a mentality to make the best of things, but it was very challenging. There were three families ahead of us in line for check in and it took 1.5hrs. We were told our room would be ready in a half hour, so we changed, went for a quick swim, and went back to get our room key. We were then told the hotel was fully sold out and they didn’t have a room for us. They are still checking other families in while this was happening. I explained that I made a reservation last month, and wondered why everyone else was getting checked in. The evening manager was apologetic and upgraded us. We finally felt safe and settled…. For almost a day. The daytime manager called the next day and said we could only stay in the room they provided us with if I paid an extra $750 USD. I said no, asked that they honour what they said at check in, but they moved us to another room in another building. The rooms themselves are dated, there are broken fixtures (we had a soaker tub with a missing hand spout, and a damaged door lock), and we woke up to a cockroach in our room. I tried keeping the room cool at night to prevent cockroaches from coming in, but the sheets are quite thin so it was very uncomfortable. Buffet food was generally okay, worst I’ve had in Mexico, but marginally better than resorts Cuba. A lot of items run out fast though. We went to the Italian restaurant for breakfast at 9am and were told they were out of bacon. The kids club changed their activities without notice, so we weren’t able to do crafts. My daughter also didn’t want to go down any of the slides because they looked dirty (I explained it was just water stains, but they were browning). Overall, this stay was far more stressful than relaxing. Between the check-in issues, being moved after being told we were settled, and the condition of the rooms, I would not return and would not recommend this resort, especially to parents travelling with young children for the first time.
