Spent a week here recently. We were the youngest people there by about 30yrs, except for my 7 year old son who received endless nasty glares from the olds.
Coffee is all instant. Breakfast and lunch were what I'd expect from a 4-star, but dinner was really disappointing. Fish was always TERRIBLY overcooked. Basically the same buffet as lunch except they come and serve it to you, to try to make it feel fancy.
There was no soap in our room for handwashing when we arrived, and the first time we asked the desk, they just shrugged. Also, the first time running our bathroom tap the water came out BLACK. Not brown, FULL ON BLACK. So gross.
The staff use noisy shopping carts to move supplies around the grounds.
The pool is ok. The gardens are nice. The staff are mostly lovely. The security is good. The drinks are ok, but their rum punch is not very good (try at other spots on the beach and you'll understand).

A beautiful resort, but there seems to be a lot of turnover and new employees that don’t know basics. They also had some communication snafus internally which could be easily improved.
That being said, the staff was immensely friendly and attentive. Except for a couple days where nearby hotels and parks blasted music, it was a lovely and relaxing stay. Doesn’t have a hot tub in case that’s something you’re looking for in a resort.

My Dad and I really enjoyed staying at Coyaba. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Just loved how they would greet us in the morning and evening. The resort was very relaxing and quiet. There is a mall with a bank across the street which was very convenient. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The food was very good. One thing to Note: bring a plug conversion if you're coming from USA if you want to plug your phone or anything. I'm glad I brought mine. The beach was great, but, be careful, there are guys who would beg for money, but they usually come later in the afternoon.
Overall, we would definitely stay at this hotel again.

My mom, husband and I had lunch at Coyaba and it was certainly worth every penny. Compliments to the chef. The lunch was buffet style, numerous items to choose from and fulfilling. The drinks were made to perfection. And the desserts, OMG, very delicious. Will definitely be back! Friendly staff. Great grounds- clean and nicely decorated. 5/5.
