Disappointed is an understatement. As seasoned travelers (hostels to luxury resorts), this was the worst overall accommodation experience we have had. With the exception of 1 employee, we were consistently treated as though our presence was an inconvenience. This response was consistent from check-in to wait staff at the one meal we cringed through. When a smile and ‘hello’ is met with silence, grumble or overt rudeness it is baffling! Please spare yourself and do not stay here. If you must, do not get the ‘all inclusive’ package as the food is truly awful. ZERO flavor catered to a significantly older audience. We purchased a bottle of wine at our first (any only) dinner on site. The bottle had gone bad (straight vinegar) and they would not refund. We ate out every other meal. Besides the food being flavorless and overcooked, the service was terrible. This is not an ‘island time’ thing, this is a horrible service thing. We booked a 2pm pick up snorkel excursion through the hotel. We discussed with the booking representative that we would be returning from our conference around 2pm and we were assured this would not be a problem. Well….the pick up left at 1:45pm. We were basically told ‘oh well’ and offered a more expensive shorter trip the following day….no other options. Beach was nice. Rooms and amenities were outdated but ‘fine’. The first night before we went to our abismal dinner, I shut all the doors and turned the AC unit on. When we returned ~2 hours later, my entire floor was flooded as water was pouring from my AC unit. I honestly thought the room above me had a burst pipe. An hour after calling the front desk, a maintenance employee arrived with a shop vac. Definitely not 4 star hotel level.

So far so good. Place is great to relax and unwind. The staff are just the best. Happy friendly, always smiling. They work in paradise. Food is exceptional. 5 star. Post more later..

Great peaceful place until the medical students show up after school and take over the beach bar and beach. Some staff with bad attitudes but most are great. Food is excellent!! One front staff bell man, was exceptional!! Best welcome I ever had at a resort! The rest of the staff could learn from him. The Bar tenders and reception desk staff need attitude changes or get another job. Rooms very clean with amazing attentive housekeeping and cleaning staff.

Our stay at Coyaba has been ... Interesting. We (a friend/colleague and myself) have been here 3 nights with 1 to go. When we arrived on Wednesday, we were so excited to be on a work trip that was also vacation here in Grenada. Upon our arrival, we both felt almost as if we were inconveniencing the staff, simply by checking in. With the exception of 1 VERY wonderful employee (Roderick, I believe was his name), the rest don't greet you and act as if you're a bother to them. Unfortunately, this continued at dinner. We had at least 4 people that were "waiting" on our table, yet no one ever seemed to be around. We were 15 minutes into eating our meal (which took FOREVER to come out in the first place) by the time the wine came out. The wine ended up being absolutely disgusting (like has gone bad, vinegary) and they would not take it back or credit it (it had not been consumed). The dinner itself was top 5 worst meals I've ever had. There was absolutely ZERO flavor or seasonings used in the meal. To have Grenada known as "Spice Island" and then serve this food is a massive insult to the country. 🤮 The rooms are basic and clean. The service at the pool bar is also god awful. *IF* there is even someone present, they are never proactive about asking if you want anything. Despite only 2 of us at the bar, when a third walked up, the staff completely ignored her and we ended up flagging them down to order this poor lady a drink. On Thursday, we arranged with David for a snorkeling trip on Friday. We are here for a conference and wouldn't be back until 2pm. David confirmed on the phone with the snorkel company (who is through the hotel) that 2pm would be fine. However, when we pulled in at 2pm, we were told that they had left at 1:45pm with the other guests. They attempted to call them but the boat had "already pulled out" - 15 minutes later? How is that even possible, having to drive somewhere and then unload all the other folks? The solution they offered to me to "make it right" was to give me 1/2 off the shitty bottle of wine we didn't want. It's the equivalent of $30 USD 🤯🙃🙄 ... Not significant and really unrelated. We're trying to go out and experience the island and explore the waters, not get $30 back on the wine (when most places would have comp'd the entire bottle in the first place). The pros? The beach. Absolutely lovely. Quiet, clear water, a beach bar ... It's wonderful. To give some context - both my friend and I have traveled extensively, both at 5 star resorts and very basic (no hot water, etc) remote destinations. Neither of us has experienced service (or lack of) to this level. In a nutshell? I'd stay elsewhere. But, if you're stuck staying here, I would highly recommend *NOT* getting the all-inclusive package unless you've got the taste buds of a 90-year-old. We went off-site to Patrick's Local Restaurant for dinner the last two nights and the food was fantastic and flavorful.

The resort is in a good location, the beach is seconds away and across the street is supermarket, KFC and shopping centre. The room and bathroom could do with modernisation but it is not bad as a whole. As an all inclusive guest, the breakfast, lunch and dinner was great. The options of food is amazing and the staff were attentive and friendly. My criticism would be the gym which needs a complete revamp. The equipment is extremely dated and in a bad condition - I don't think any user would get a decent workout from it. Overall, I would stay here again if I visited Grenada.
