Breakfast buffet at La Citronnelle, continental breakfast at Deer Hunter, continental takeaway breakfast (24 hours’ notice required), or in-villa continental breakfast available for villa guests only

A long overdue review.
During our 5th Marriage Anniversary in July 2023, we spent a few nights at this Hotel/resort, and it was truly delightful.
From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed with sincere hospitality. The staff went above and beyond to assist us when we inadvertently left our entire document folder at the previous hotel, arranging a taxi for us without any hassle, albeit for a charge.
Once on the property, we were so pleased that we decided to forgo venturing out and fully indulge in Constance Belle Mare Plage. Our spacious room provided an ocean view that was truly a feast for the eyes. The thoughtful provision of champagne and a fruit basket added to the experience of luxury.
The beachfront property itself was pristine and well-maintained, offering an immaculate stretch of white sands.
The ever-helpful staff consistently displayed positive attitudes and smiles throughout our stay. Despite the seaside bar undergoing renovations, they managed to accommodate our request for cocktails.
In conclusion: A remarkable stay that offered an exceptional experience every step of the way.
Note: Having traveled to several countries and stayed in numerous 5-star properties, this particular stay stands out as one of our best experiences abroad. Kudos to everyone who contributed to making our visit so memorable.
One point worth highlighting is that while everything else was outstanding, the room service did seem rather slow; often requiring more than 2-3 calls before attending to our requests.

Almost all the hotels in Mauritius are sea-facing so, it is the service which makes a hotel different from the other. The staff here is very good and the food is excellent. Important is the point that the chefs here are always ready to cook for you whatever you want.

I’ve stayed at many resorts in Mauritius. In fact we live in Mauritius and spend a weekend at a resort once a month. The hotel is beautifully located. The food was just amazing. The front desk staff on the other hand were not friendly at all. In fact we had no water in our room twice in a row in the mornings before breakfast. We also had damp bedding on the bed and cockroaches. The pillow smelt so bad that I slept without a pillow on the first night. When I went to address the issue at reception one of the ladies looked and me and addressed me “yes, tell me” not hello how are you or how can I help you, but “yes, tell me”.
The staff made you feel like you were not as important as the other guests because you booked through Marie Deal. We were called the day before asking what time we would check out at(this felt like they wanted us out of the hotel). They also called on the day of the checkout (before the checkout time asking if they can come collect the bags). We felt rushed out of the room. Very unpleasant experience. It was also my birthday weekend and we had brought in a birthday cake. We had cut a tiny piece of the cake at midnight and ask the bar staff to put the cake away for us till the next morning. When they brought the cake out the next morning we were shocked to see that the staff had eaten half the cake. We were disgusted.
We had the best time at C Mauritius and Heritage Alwali, their staff are all properly trained and polite. You feel very comfortable and welcomed at those hotels. We have stayed there a few times and have never been rushed out.

a very good hotel, the staff comes to meet all your needs. the rooms are a bit outdated but who stays in the room when there is such a beautiful landscape outside? the food is very tasty although not very varied. you can do all kinds of activities both in the hotel and outside it. in the assembly, it was one of the most beautiful vacations.

Some of the personnel was very slow and at times, did not seem to know how to help or were not able to advise on our questions.
There is several restaurants in the resort, however, in 6 night of stay we were not able to get a table at any of them - all booked out. We were always referred to a buffet, which in our opinion, was severely overpriced, if you just want one plate of light dinner and not have a full 3 course meal, it wasnt worth the money, but there was nowhere else to go unless we wanted to drive to nearby towns and get food there.
Last night, we had rat in our room and notified reception. It toom more than half an hour for someone to come over and it didnt seem like they trusted us (3 people saw it)...
The area in which the hotel is, is not very nice.
Quite dirty and loads of stray animals in poor state that noone seems to care for. Seeing dead puppies by the road was something we cannot unsee and we spent lot of time trying to help the poor souls. We tried to talk to the hotel staff as they seemed to have a campaign for pet adoption, but noone was available to talk to us for 3 days in row.
Overall quite disappointed in the whole trip and value for money.
Would be appreciated if these massive hotel resorts tried to do something about their surroundings and the problem with stray animals.
