It was mostly a pleasant stay for us. We did get lucky with a very good villa location. Main island definitely is the best because everything is so conveniently located. However there’s a windy and very badly eroded beach side of the main island. So if you’re a beach person, pray for the yellow side (see photo attached). The adults only island is far from everything and has no breeze. It’s also hot and heavy air on the adults only island. Service was responsive and friendly but could do better. I’ve been to all inclusive hotels and resorts and their service was awesome; here is not all inclusive and service was just acceptable. And our host was not very interested in us or had correct timing for our activities. Nevertheless, this place is worth a visit at least once for the nature and views.

This is the most amazing place we have ever stayed at. Top notch service and food. Quiet and relaxing. Cool easy slow vibe. Skip the underwater restaurant dinner and do the afternoon cocktails instead. We loved the quiet place bar the best.

The resort is lovely, the rooms/villas are beautiful, great food and fantastic service. My only negative observation was the lack of drinks service at the pool, it wouldn’t take much for one of the bar staff to walk around the pool area every 15 minutes to enquire if anyone would like a drink.

This is objectively a nice resort, but it’s overpriced for what it offers. I stayed here after staying at two other resorts in the Maldives - the Sheraton north of Male and the Raffles in the far south. The Conrad is priced like the Raffles, but offers a service and quality level similar to the Sheraton (which was very nice itself, but was half the price of the Conrad, which was much more reasonable for what was offered). The good: The villas are very nice (this is one area it has the Sheraton beat), despite the lack of blinds in the shower (so roving snorkelers have the chance of getting an eyeful) and some weird light switch placement. Our housekeeper was excellent and kept us well stocked with water. The food is generally quite good, with several restaurant options (although the “margherita” pizza at the Rangali bar was not, in fact, a margherita, but rather just a cheese pizza with a subpar crust - they had a few other misses as well, but Vilu, Mandhoo, Koko Grill, and several of their other food options were pretty tasty). Their pastry chef very kindly shared a cake recipe with us. Their dive shop is excellent - very safety-focused and the dive boat is very nice, good rental equipment. And if you walk the bridge between the islands at night, you’ll likely see some mantas, which was amazing. The less-good: The welcome/check in. You arrive by seaplane, and they load you into a small stuffy room on their dock that also houses outgoing passengers, so it can get crowded. They give you a coconut with a straw in it, but a warm one. They then take you to reception in a golf cart for check in, which, at least for us, was a disorganized process, requiring moving seats and waiting around a while (and ended up with us not even checked in - when we got to our villa, someone else’s name was on the TV check in screen, and we couldn’t log into the WiFi). Both of the other resorts mentioned above handled check in & out much more smoothly, either at the villa itself or in a spacious and airy welcome lounge while we sipped a refreshing beverage and were given cool towels. Not so at the Conrad. Same cramped situation on the way out. They need to figure out a different welcome/send-off system. Our host also forgot to put one of our dinners on our itinerary, and it took some back and forth to confirm it, including an email with the wrong time. We also showed up for a massage to find a totally empty spa - my understanding is that they had us booked at the other spa by mistake, but that was unclear. When we did finally get in for the massage the next day, the massage itself was nice, but afterward, the therapists stayed in the room with us afterward waiting for us to get up - every other massage I’ve had, the therapist leaves the room at the end so you can get up and re-robe at your leisure. It was quite awkward. There’s also really only one good snorkeling spot (as opposed to the Raffles, which has reef all around to explore), and even there, the coral is mostly dead or dying. Not necessarily the Conrad’s fault, but it would be nice to see some restoration efforts underway. The breakfast buffet is fine, but not amazing, and they start packing it up a few minutes early most days - gives strong cheap-airport-hotel breakfast vibes. (This is one spot where the Sheraton shines - their breakfast was amazing.) We had also booked a dolphin cruise, but it got canceled because they need at least 4 people to go - they somehow could not find another couple in the ~100-villa resort who were interested. (Which was weird because much of the time, it seemed like the staff was busy promoting or selling something.) There’s more to say, both positive and negative, but the bottom line is if you want a family-friendly resort experience with good food and activities, go to the Sheraton or somewhere similar and save thousands of dollars. If you want the high-end luxury seamless experience with exceptional personal service, go to the Raffles. The Conrad is perfectly nice, but it is not the ultra-luxurious paradise it markets and prices itself as.

My new wife and I spent three days on honeymoon at the Conrad Maldives last week, and had the best vacation experience EVER. While traveling and vacationing in the Maldives comes at a cost, I honestly feel that every penny spent at the Conrad Maldives provided a huge ROI for the fun and best hotel experience I have ever had. As a regular business traveler for more than a decade, I have never experienced the level of customer service this resort provides its guest. The overall experience from arrival via Seaplane, to having a dedicated Conceriege rep on the island assigned to us, to interacting with hotel resort staff ( most of whom has been working for the property for a long time which says a lot), and finally to the Ocean sports team, was outstanding. I would like to provide a special shoutout to the team at Ocean sports, Mabrook, Saheed, and Adam, all of whom provided myself and my wife with such a great experience. If you are looking to have a BLAST on a vacation, the time and money is well spent with the Ocean sports team. My wife and I did Jet Ski's for two days with Mabrook and had the most thrilling experience ever on a Jet Ski. We followed this up by engaging in a Parasail with Mabrook and Adam, and was amazed by the level of professionalism that comes with Parasailing at the Conrad. The hotel has a customized boat that allows you to Parasail and land directly from the boat without even getting in the water. Another shoutout I would like to provide is to Ameel, who is in charge of taking photos for the photoshoots. We booked a 1 hour photoshoot and the pictures he took were by far superior to any hotel/vacation photoshoots I have ever had done. Just astonished by the picture quality and his technique for getting the perfect shot of my wife and I. Lastly, Erika provided us with a friendly experience as the dedicated concereige rep during our stay. In general, this is a great concept and leads to an extraordinary customer service experience. My wife Stephanie and I look forward to returning to the Maldives on a more frequent basis, and when we do, we will stick to staying at the Conrad. We are sold on becoming regular customers! Thank you for the best honeymoon vacation experience ever! -Tim
