An amazing resort. Unbelievable staff who are focused on making your stay absolutely memorable. The staff, from the front office to the gardeners are polite, focused and kind. They spare nothing to ensure your happiness. Great pools, beautiful gardens and wonderful restaurants. The restaurant looks out over the beach with marvellous sunsets. An amazing place to relax and unwind. Easy walk into town with everything you could possibly want or need. Laundry services and scooter hire abound along with a myriad of restaurants and money exchangers / ATM’s.

Very beautiful, traditional resort with a gradual entrance to the beach and the sea. With a quiet surface. Almost barrier-free for people with disabilities and wheelchair users. Beautiful beach, beautiful garden around the accommodation. Great service and food. Especially the staff in the restaurant is exemplary. It is a place where you do not want to leave, or want to return again. I would point out one small flaw, however. It is boring here in the evening. Live music in the beach bar would put this resort on a pedestal.

We booked a beach villa for six people (Room 239), but upon arrival it was clear that the villa only accommodates a maximum of four people. After lengthy discussions, we were unexpectedly given an additional villa at no extra cost, which at least solved the sleeping arrangement. Unfortunately, the hotel is in very poor condition. Wood is rotting, fabrics are torn, and during my twelve trips to Thailand I have never experienced so many insect bites. We had ants and mosquitoes in the room, and there was often a strong sewage smell coming from the toilets. We also found cigarretts in the shower! We tried several times to book spa treatments, but the appointment times were constantly changed, so it never happened. Breakfast was of low quality and lacked flavor, and the food in the restaurant was a complete disaster. The bar service was unacceptable. The bar staff, especially the young, slim guy, was poor at making drinks, careless when serving them, and rarely even said hello. During our ten-day stay, it felt like almost no one greeted us at all. We repeatedly asked for a refund so we could change hotels, but this was refused, forcing us to book another hotel just to be able to shower and sleep properly. In our opinion, the hotel should have allowed us to check out immediately when it was obvious that the room did not match what we had booked. Positive notes: The hotel is located directly on the beach, and there are several restaurants within a 10–15 minute walk. The massage was excellent — 600 baht for one hour and worth every baht. The reception manager was polite and professional, even though no refund was given. I sincerely hope that Centara head office reviews our case and refunds our money. This stay was not worth a single baht, and I would neither return nor recommend this hotel to anyone.

This place exceeded our expectations. Had 2 cabanas and stayed over Christmas as a family of 5. Ours was overlooking the pool and the ocean and it was stunning. Everywhere was so clean and the staff were brilliant, super friendly and helpful. Facilities were excellent. We enjoyed a free yoga class and had some lovely spa treatments on Christmas day.

An outstanding resort. I do regret only booking one night here. Others have noted that it is of an older construction and so it is but for me that is part of the attraction. When built they obviously used the highest standards of the day and so for me the quality is resplendent today. The room I stayed in was entry level I think. It was beautiful. So large, an enormous bed, wonderful balcony, pretty furniture all of wood (teak?). It is so perfectly Thai in appearance. The Resort is vast and my room was almost five minutes walk to the beach! But that's the price point so I accept that. There are two pools and one of those was right by my apartment. The other is on the beach. And what a beautiful beach!! Breakfast was awesome, the best I've had on Koh Chang. Special mention to the excellent peanut butter! The staff too are all happy, smiley and typically Thai. The stand out feature though has to be the setting: lush garden with myriad tropical plants and trees. Birds calling, squirrels darting about, it's incredible. I stayed in the low season when there were a few children but not enough to bother me. But I think as it gets nearer to November December then the place comes alive with families so it might not be as peaceful as I experienced. Certainly I noticed plenty of things for kids to do. DYOR. I'm coming back next year for sure. Big props to Mr Shein on reception - he's a top guy!💯
