We stayed here in January as a family of four (2 adults, a toddler and a baby). Overall, the hotel is okay but it does feel quite dated and in need of refurbishment or updating. The rooms and pool areas are functional, but everything looks a bit tired. Breakfast is standard buffet — all the usual items you’d expect — but nothing particularly special. The main issue is the breakfast area itself, which is too small for the number of guests. It becomes quite chaotic trying to find a table, especially during peak times. There are no lifts, so if you’re travelling with a baby and pram, I’d strongly recommend booking a ground floor room. Carrying a pram up and down stairs isn’t ideal. You’re given four complimentary bottles of water per day and can request more through the app, which works well. However, the glass bottles are quite small, so you end up requesting more frequently — particularly if you have a baby and need water for formula and washing bottles. It’s also quite a walk to the beach. A large resort blocks the most direct access, so you have to walk around, which makes it longer than expected. There is a free shuttle or you can take a taxi. Kata itself is very busy and bustling — great if you enjoy that atmosphere, but it can feel overwhelming and a bit challenging with small children. It’s also worth considering location if you’re planning boat trips or ethical elephant sanctuary visits. The hotel is quite far from most excursion departure points, and the traffic can be very heavy and slow-moving. If you’re looking for a base close to excursions, it may be better to stay nearer to them. Overall, it’s not a bad stay, but it would really benefit from some modernisation and better space management at breakfast.

Great place to stay in kata beach. Amazing breakfast. Nice rooms. Super friendly staff. Great for families with kids due to playground and kids swimming pool area. 10 min walking to the beach. Many restaurants, bars and kata night Market close by in 5 min walking distance.

Lee Quade

Rooms need some updating and a deep clean. Rooms are spacious. No elevator and has 4 floors. Pool always busy and hard to get a chair by the pool unless you go out and put towels down at 8a.m. It is walking distance to the Kata walking street, 7/11, and about a 25 min walk to Kata Beach.

I had an amazing experience at this hotel! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always going out of their way to ensure we had a comfortable stay. A special thank you to the manager, who was kind enough to arrange a more convenient room for us with small children, which made a huge difference. The food at the hotel restaurants was fantastic, and I can honestly say it was some of the best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had! The quality and variety were exceptional, making every morning a real treat. The pools were great—well-maintained and perfect for relaxation or fun. Additionally, the rooms offered plenty of storage, which was very convenient for our family. Highly recommended!

We had the loveliest family holiday here over the New Year period. The room was clean, food was great, pool was fun - what more could you ask for? Special mention to the wonderful staff, especially Kla who always made sure we were comfortable and happy, Nan for her outstanding professionalism, and Joy for being so lovely with our children. We have very fond memories of our time in Phuket and much of that is thanks to Centara Kata and the staff there, thank you!
