We checked in before Hurricane Melissa & the staff was worry free about this Hurricane. Everything was normal with food, drinks, music until the Hurricane hit. It will take time to rebuild & fix the structure from the storm, but staff was really nice during this crisis. Much appreciated for all they did during the Hurricane. I hope the hotel will reopen soon for them so business can resume with their jobs. Much love to the staff whom worked at this resort for empathy, compassionate, care & continued service they provided us.❤️

The service and staff were great — very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. However, there were some major issues that made it hard to fully enjoy the experience. There was construction next door, and the alarm went off all night, which made it difficult to sleep. On top of that, I found both a dead, a live crab and a roach in my room, which was unsettling. The Wi-Fi was also quite choppy and unreliable. Overall, great people, but the environment and maintenance need serious improvement.

Catalonia has the potential to be a great hotel, but there’s still a lot of work to be done. The property itself is in a beautiful location, and the beach is clean and truly stunning. However, the overall experience was disappointing. Many of the employees seemed unhappy or had an attitude, which really affected the atmosphere. Jamaica is known for its friendly and hospitable people, so this was surprising. The food was also very basic and bland far from the delicious, flavorful dishes you’d expect in Jamaica. Ironically, the Japanese restaurant was the best meal we had; they made Japanese food better than their own local cuisine. I understand that the hotel was recently purchased and renovations are ongoing, but guests come to relax — not to listen to drilling and construction noise all day. It was impossible to rest, and the air conditioning in our room barely worked, making the stay even more uncomfortable. I truly believe Catalonia can become an amazing resort with the right improvements better service, happier staff, flavorful food, and consideration for guests during renovations. Sadly, my four-day stay was far from relaxing, which is disappointing given the resort’s beautiful setting.
Better World !
Hi, Over all the food was tasty , the employee were really nice, the principal default in this resort is really close to a highway so you can hear all the truck and its also close to the airport so this hotel is really noisy. What’s worst is that the room are not sound proof so you can hear almost everything, kids yelling etc … For the activité theirs a lot of activity to do so you won’t be boring, theirs some kayak to do for free in the resort and some ping pong and tennis table. It was a good resort but they need to invest on sound proof room.. I paid 6000 for two people, I don’t think I’ll Come back for these place but, Over all the staff were amazing thank you very much and you were all kind to me .

Worst Experience Ever! We arrived on Friday at 10 a.m., but they made us wait until 3 p.m. to check in. Why charge $3,000 CAD when the entire resort is under construction? My room wasn’t soundproof. I could hear loud music from morning until night. The Wi-Fi was terrible, and the nightly entertainment was even worse. Everything about this place is disappointing. The only good thing was the food, absolutely delicious! Big shoutout to the chefs and staff who clearly work hard and deserve a pay raise. Unfortunately, the owners should be ashamed for charging luxury prices for a half-finished resort. It’s a complete rip-off to spend $3,000 CAD for this kind of experience. Construction won’t even be finished for another three years. Do yourself a favour, don’t come here until 2028! Never again.
