Maria
This place is the top of Domenican Republic resort. We stayed in a villa with 12 people and it was amazing. We had a pool and own golf carts to drive around on the resort. All inclusive with a lot of choices of restaurants. Beach, Marina, restaurants, golf and golf. We played 3 of their local courses and they were all so good. We also tried their night golf. Can't do wrong with this resort.

What a dream vacation! If anything the service was too good! Gorgeous resort, food was excellent at the several restaurants we tried. Spa was great. Pricey for the D. R. But this place is upscale. Each room gets its own golf cart to use around the large resort. Can't wait to go back!

TL;DR: The golf is a 10/10 fever dream. The hospitality is a 2/10 fever dream. Come for the views and golf, stay because the shuttle never actually showed up to take you home. Golf Sicko Report If you live and die by the playing top courses, just go. Seriously. The courses are pristine, and Teeth of the Dog actually lives up to the hype and more. The golf staff are the only people on this property who seem to know what planet they’re on. 10/10, would lose a $15 Pro-V1 in the Caribbean Sea again. Everything Else Disaster Here is where the wheels (specifically the golf cart wheels) fall off: The Villa Roulette: It’s a literal gamble. You might get a modern oasis, or you might get a 1982 time capsule with plumbing that sounds like a haunted house. May the odds be ever in your favor. The Logistics: The resort layout is aggressively inconvenient. You’ll spend 25% of your vacation staring at a shuttle stop or 15 minutes vibrating in a golf cart just to find a banana or maybe some stale banana bread (Dye Fore). The Support: Attempting to contact management is like trying to argue with a toaster. They’ve outsourced their souls to an enterprise-GPT model. If you have a real issue, enjoy your polite, grammatically correct, and entirely useless AI-generated "we value your feedback" or "at your service" loop. The Check-in/Out: Imagine a DMV, but with a tropical breeze and 500% more confusion. The Verdict I’ve stayed at places for half the price that treated me twice as well. Casa de Campo is basically a world-class golf course attached to a mid-tier logistics nightmare. Go if: You only care about the golf and have a high tolerance for organized chaos. Avoid if: You expect luxury service to involve actual humans and functioning showers. EDIT: I am bumping this up to 2 stars (from a 1) solely because I eventually got to speak with an extremely kind gentleman calling on behalf of the PGA. He was the only person I interacted with who seemed to actually care about—or understand—Guest Services and Hospitality Management. They are lucky to have him; he is effectively carrying the entire reputation of the resort's service on his back.

Casa de Campo is a bit of a mixed bag — but in many ways, still an incredible destination. First, the positives. The resort grounds are absolutely stunning. Everything is immaculately maintained, and there is truly an endless amount to do — whether that’s golf, the beach, the marina, dining, or just lounging around and doing nothing. The crowd was a nice blend of young, upbeat energy and older, laid-back travelers, so it was always easy to find whatever scene fit your mood. The food was also a pleasant surprise. It’s significantly better than your typical all-inclusive fare, likely because the resort also caters to thousands of ultra-high-net-worth villa owners. That said, it still doesn’t quite reach the level you’d expect from true luxury brands like Four Seasons or St. Regis. I did find that reflected in the pricing though — food and drinks were very reasonable for a resort of this caliber. Now to the drawbacks. The standard hotel rooms (non-villa / non-suite) simply don’t live up to the $1,000+ per night price point. They’re spacious, but the décor and furnishings feel dated and fall short of what you’d expect from comparable luxury resorts. One important callout after spending a full week on property: the two entry hotel categories — “Superior Casita” and “Deluxe” — appeared to have virtually no difference. From what we could see, the furniture, finishes, and room sizes felt identical. In fact, our reservation included a complimentary upgrade, and we were initially placed in a Deluxe room. However, to get the 1 king bed we originally booked (instead of two doubles), we ultimately moved to a Superior Casita — technically a downgrade. The experience felt nearly identical in every way, which reinforced our view that the distinction between these two categories is minimal at best. I’d be wary of any offers advertising “complimentary upgrades” between these two classes, as they don’t feel like meaningful upgrades. The “Premier Room” category, on the other hand, appears to be a very different story. While we did not stay in one, we saw the buildings from the grounds and reviewed online videos, and they looked far more aligned with true luxury expectations. The buildings are brand new, the views appear stunning, and the overall finish level seems materially higher. If we returned to the hotel (versus a villa), that’s the only room class we’d consider booking. Service was probably the biggest letdown. It wasn’t bad — but at this price tier, you expect exceptional. Communication leading up to the stay was frustratingly slow. I often had to send 2–3 emails just to get a response, and follow-ups they promised rarely happened unless I chased them down again. There were also organizational issues during our stay. We booked a king room and had credits that were supposed to be applied. Instead, we were placed in a double room (not even queens), and the credits weren’t on our account. We had to visit the front desk multiple times to get both the room corrected the following day and the $425 credit applied. At other high-end Caribbean resorts, staff typically go out of their way to proactively fix issues and elevate the guest experience — here, it felt like we had to advocate for ourselves far more than we should have. Throughout the week, service consistency was also noticeable. Roughly one out of every three interactions felt truly spectacular — warm, proactive, and memorable. The rest were average at best. Again, not bad — just not what you expect at this price point. Overall takeaway: We loved Casa de Campo as a resort, but not as a hotel experience. The golf is world-class, the breadth of restaurants and activities is unmatched, and the entire property feels like a safe, self-contained paradise. We absolutely plan to return — but next time, we’ll go the villa route rather than staying in the hotel.
Mike Kosinski
Incredible experience. The villas are amazing, but the hotel rooms are also really nice if you don't get a villa. The golf courses are prestine. Playable yet challenging. I'd recommend golfing The Links first, all 3 nines at Dye Fore, then Teeth of the Dog last.
