The 1 bedroom villa was not a villa at all. It is a 1 bedroom suite in a condo style building. The room was supposed to be a wheelchair accessible room. It was not. The doorway was 35 inches not 36 like it should be. One of the bathroom entrances lead to the kitchen. To access it you would have to take out half of the peninsula because there was not enough turn radius to get into it. The other entrance on the other end led to the bedroom. To get there you can barely fit the wheelchair past the bed to make the turn First you pass by the enormous tub. Then you pass the roll-in shower that had was extremely small. I'm a bit on the heavy side and I don't think I could fit in. Then you finally get to the toilet. No idea where the sink was. There was no way to get the wheelchair in the very tiny kitchen. The wheelchair could not make the turn after the peninsula to get to the kitchen. This was also where the washer and dryer are.I could stay because I was unable to access the toilet. Due to the false advertising of it being a villa and that I wouldn't be able to got to the bathroom I was forced to find another hotel. I wanted a full refund. Booking said the hotel had to okay it before a refund. The hotel told me to talk to Booking to get a refund. Meanwhile I do not have my money refunded yet. I canceled the room for false advertising and Booking is telling me that there is a cancelation fee. I think not. I would have stayed if the bathroom, kitchen, and doorway would have been up to ADA standards which they are not.

The amenities we're phenomenal. Spacious condos. Our kids went wild for all the different pools / water parks. Would have given 5 stars if it weren't for rough late night crowd. Had to have security calm BOTH floors above us down around 4am. They were quick in response. Slept peacefully after ;)

My kids left their shoes and other belongings down at the pool and they were stolen. We went up to our room right before dark and they told me they left their things right after the pool closed. We ran down anyway to see if we could grab them and all the gates were locked and didn’t matter anyway because we couldn’t see them sitting where they were put anyway. I thought no worries the workers who came out I’m sure put them up. Not the case. The next day we were checking out and not only did I get sent in so many directions to check for the items I never did find them. They said workers come to clean up after pool is closed and take items left to calypso cay front desk. Well someone decided to keep several of our items causing my kids to just go without shoes and took my sons sentimental Mickey Mouse hat that he was so excited to wear to his first Disney trip. For a place this nice you would think they would be more on top of theft then what they are. When I told them that someone must have stole them they just smiled and said “yeah sorry” and that was it. Ridiculous it’s like they just expect it. Also, the entire time we were there the zip line and rock wall were closed.

Our experience at Calypso Cay resort was relaxing and fun filled. The service was exceptional and they were there to assist if needed. Often they would send a text and respond to any questions or concerns daily. They had a great staff in the office. The kids enjoyed themselves, and we’re most likely booking for a return trip next summer. Thanks to the staff!

Manager went above and beyond for my booking and accommodated my party of 8 in a space that made sense for us. I will forever be thankful to her. Front desk was pleasant every time I needed something. I loved the bar as always but was sad to see them get rid of happy hour. The location to Disney is why we keep coming back. The kids enjoyed miniature golf, the pools and volleyball. They also enjoyed ice cream piña coladas, French fries and wings at the bar. Overall, super friendly staff and we will definitely be back.
