We had an incredible stay at the Calabash Hotel and are already planning our next trip. If I could rate the hotel above five stars, I would. I could write pages and pages about why the hotel is so fantastic, but I’ll try to be brief: Accommodation – our suite (#1) had a great view of the bay and was luxuriously appointed. It had everything we needed. We never tired of breakfast on our balcony in the mornings. Food – every course of every meal we ate at Rhodes Restaurant and the Beach Club was delicious. The catch of the day had some great options, including Lion Fish! Ambience – the Calabash is the perfect mix of old-world Caribbean charm and modern luxury. There is a wide range of live music to accompany meals. The hotel grounds and gardens are immaculately maintained. It is a lovely touch that the management still hosts a weekly welcome drinks for new guests. Staff – it’s clear that every member of staff is proud to work at the Calabash. Everyone we interacted with was extremely friendly and more than happy to help with whatever we needed. Nothing was too much trouble. Beach – there are plenty of sun loungers and a mix of sun and shade on the secluded beach. It’s possible to snorkel straight from the beach. The view of the boats in the bay is beautiful and the aquamarine water is wonderfully warm. Excursions and activities – we went out on a snorkelling trip with Scuba West Indies, the dive centre that operates from within the hotel. The underwater sculpture park and marine life on the reef are definitely worth seeing. The concierge was also able to assist with taxis into town to visit places like the local spice market, as well as with car hire. We drove to Grand Etang Lake and the Seven Sisters waterfalls – both worth a visit. Spa – the therapists at the Calabash Spa are brilliant. We thoroughly enjoyed the Swedish massages we booked. There is so much more I could mention, but this should be enough to encourage anyone to book a stay at the Calabash, you won’t regret it.

During a recent visit to Grenada, I stopped at the Calabash for dinner. First, I was seated in the bar area and had the best local margarita I ever had. The service was warm and welcoming. I then moved to a lovely table. The food was tasty and the flavors were vibrant with local ingredients and spices. Sadly, I didn't have the chance to try the dessert. The service was attentive and friendly. Everyone made me feel at home. The setting looks over the beach area. There was live music by a super talent local musician. Highly recommend!

From pre-arrival email correspondence, to the staff waving goodbye at our departure, everything was worthy of more than 5 stars! Accomodations were luxurious and spacious: fully stocked mini bar included many complimentary options, Elemis bath products, fluffy towels, fine bedding, comfy couches/chairs, and a large balcony all made our stay enjoyable. The staff greeted us upon arrival (thank you Stevens and Elle) and immediately we felt at home. Attentive front desk staff arranged all of our transportation needs. Terrific staff at Nori and The Beach House rounded out a perfect stay.

What a find. Lovely family run hotel , private lodge style rooms, with a special beach location. Fantastic tasting organic food, friendly staff and a relaxed vibe . not too big. Local diving company next door. Once discovered we will be back.
