This was my second time staying at a Breathless property, and while the resort itself is beautiful, there were a few things worth noting. One thing I noticed is that if you don’t specifically ask for premium liquor, your drinks may be made with off-brand alcohol. I’m not sure if this applies to all Breathless resorts, but I recommend clearly stating the brand you want when ordering. I also observed that tipping seemed to affect the level of service with some bartenders and staff. Although gratuities are advertised as included in the upfront price, service felt noticeably different if a tip wasn’t given immediately. This was similar with housekeeping—our room was exceptionally well-maintained the first morning (even our shoes were neatly lined up), but on the following days, without a tip left, the upkeep was not as thorough. That said, there were staff members who were consistently kind and professional regardless—especially the women at The Nook and the staff assisting guests on the beach. The food was good overall, though it became somewhat repetitive over a multi-day stay. As for the beach, it wasn’t what I expected for an oceanfront property. The water on this side of Cancun was darker and rocky and not ideal for swimming. If you’re looking for the classic turquoise, swimmable water (especially in December), I’d recommend staying on the other side of Cancun. I was also disappointed with the karaoke entertainment. The host frequently sang over guests while they were performing and seemed to make the experience more about himself rather than focusing on the guests. Lastly, be cautious of the VIP tour representatives in the lobby. When we asked for help arranging a taxi to a mall, we were instead guided into a tourist excursion that turned out to be a complete tourist trap and took up most of our day—very different from what we were actually looking for. Overall, I did enjoy my stay and found the property beautiful, but based on these experiences, I would likely explore other options on my next trip to Cancun.

I enjoyed my experience at this resort. The staff is friendly, the food was good, and I appreciated the amenities. One employee in particular, Roger, made the stay even better. He helped me and my group out near the pool. He went above and beyond to make sure my cousin enjoyed her birthday. He had excellent service and fun personality. Make sure you look/ask for him if you visit!

We booked this stay through Costco Travel. Overall, the hotel was decent but did not feel like a luxury resort. The property is on the smaller side, with a limited beach area and not enough loungers for the number of guests. The room light and fan switches were difficult to figure out (hidden behind a wall), and we had to call concierge for help. There were no complimentary liquor bottles or chocolates, and the minibar was not always replenished despite tipping. Turndown service runs from 6–10 pm but must be requested by 5 pm, which was not clearly communicated. Food was average overall. The fruit lacked flavor, the Italian and French restaurant were disappointing, while the grill restaurant and Picante stood out positively for both food quality and service. Drinks were mid, and mango-based drinks had an unusual aftertaste. One of the main reasons we chose this resort was the advertised on-site snorkeling. It was confirmed via the website and concierge; however, we later learned that snorkeling on-site has been unavailable for two years and now requires booking a paid excursion. This was disappointing and felt misleading given how it was presented. On the positive side, Wi-Fi was excellent throughout the resort, and most staff were friendly and helpful. The staff were also attentive to clearing seaweed, and the beach was mostly seaweed-free during our stay. The fire and magic shows were fun highlights, and we also enjoyed the poolside performances by the staff. Overall, while there were some enjoyable moments, the experience did not meet our expectations, and we would not return or recommend this resort.

If you want a good drink, find Fernando - he is the best bartender at the entire resort! He makes the best drinks BY FAR! Everyone told us he was the best but we 100% agree. If you want to play any game or have a fun time - Erik is the best and always willing to jump in to ping pong/volleyball etc and makes you feel so included. Food was mid, weird sulfur smell sometimes but the staff made up for it

We went with friends (in our 30’s) and overall had a great time! Crowd was a good variety of 20s, 30s and 40s I’d say. There is one very large pool with a swim up bar and then a pretty big “party” pool with another swim up bar. The non party pool was more lively than the party pool sometimes - both are fun, even just for the people watching! The lowest priced rooms are right by the night time outdoor bar, called Wink where they have entertainment every night. The rooms also back up to the “inside-ish” area which has the club. I say this because it can be fairly noisy at night time until the club closes around 1am. The entertainment at Wink was usually done by 10:30pm, but you could still just hear people outside. Just a consideration if you want to book the lowest priced rooms. The food was average… not bad but not the best food you’ll ever eat. We liked the Pan Asian one the best. Italian and Mexican were fine! The beach is so small, and doesn’t have the pretty aqua blue water that you envision when visiting Cancun, but we knew that going into it . The pools were nice and the views were still pretty of the water! We got a really good deal so for the value, I would recommend it!
