I don’t understand why so many negative reviews on this resort. We stayed BlueBay grand Esmeralda with our two kids. Upon check in we upgraded our rooms to partial ocean view $300 cad to be closer to the ocean and main pool. Its well kept good room nice view but, i don’t mean other basic rooms are the same. The food was amazing we enjoyed until last minute of our stay. Very friendly staff from kids club to bar tenders to servers to reception good people. The ocean though it’s not swimmable. The entertainment was also is okay except the music selection. Overall for the money we paid it was a great deal.beautiful landscape too.

Do not waste your money had the worst service!! Buildings are old the toilet came right off the floor and we had to change rooms at 3 am in the morning. They had a night they didn't have enough food for the amount of people they had, for the buffet. Then we book the steak house for our last night. We purposely did not eat lunch as we were looking forward to the dinner. When we get there they tell us there is no steak house just the regular buffet. If you make changes inform your guests. Lastly it seemed they pulled a scam. The Day before departure, I went to go return the two beach towels. I was supposed to get a card But the gentleman in the towel booth did not give me a card back I asked is there not something else I should get or do you mark down a room number and he told me no So then the next day we go to check out and we don't have the towel card and so they charge me $60 US for two used shitty brown towels that I didn't even get to take home with me To argue That I asked the man in the towel booth and he told me there was nothing else I needed to do. The manager came out because at this point, I was clearly upset and told me if I don't pay it they're holding my luggage hostage so I can't leave but They would kick me off the property so at this point because the bus was getting ready to leave. I had no choice but to pay the $60 US which equals $99 Canadian I will never ever give blue Bay grand Esmeralda my money. Unbelievable. I honestly hope people really listen to this that it really was a pretty crappy place. Go spend your money elsewhere. You'll have a much better time.

We had an amazing stay at BlueBay Grand! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and relaxed. The resort is beautiful — stunning ocean views, clean and comfortable rooms, and plenty of fun activities to enjoy throughout the day. The food and drinks were great, but what truly made our experience unforgettable was the outstanding service — especially from Jorge, one of the servers at the resort. Jorge was incredibly kind, professional, and always had a warm smile on his face. He made sure we were well taken care of every time we saw him, and his attention to detail and friendly attitude really stood out. Jorge, thank you for going above and beyond to make our vacation so special! Your hospitality made a huge difference, and we truly appreciated everything you did. We can’t wait to come back to Blue Bay — and we’ll be looking for Jorge when we do!

The positives - the kids club. Lovely staff who make your children feel welcomed and loved. Great activities to keep them entertained throughout the day. Eli was great always keeping us informed and sending us pictures to make sure our kids were ok - Food. We found the buffet to have a good variety of dishes - coffee shop. Angel and Cristian were wonderful. A welcoming smile and always ready to prepare a delicious coffee - Entertainment. Evening shows were outstanding. Very entertaining and well prepared. The negatives - front desk staff. Not friendly AT ALL. Didn’t take the time to explain buffet schedules or provide directions on where restaurants, pools were located. Basically it felt like “here are the keys figure out the rest” - Rooms. Not to the best standards. Paint peeling off the ceilings. And looked old - customer service at buffet. Although food was good, service was very poor. Trying to get a spoon was a challenge. Wait staff felt bothered every time we asked for a spoon or for more water. - internal transportation. Golf carts use to transport guests are always full. And drivers most of the times are mad/upset like they don’t want to be there.

The worst hotel I stayed in my whole life…. Staff does not speak English! They are not trained at all. It started with the check in where I specifically asked for a king bed and was giving two queen. When I tried to fix it I was told that they will send somebody to take me to another room in 5 mins and nobody ever showed up. The “all inclusive” restaurants they have on site are fully booked for my entire week stay. Room service have extra charge. When I called room service they charged me and then sent the wrong food and it was by all means the worst food I had in my life… I have Videos of how rude and ignorant their staff is. If you do not want to ruin your vacation, DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE
